Hey, so - while we appreciate the interest, please review the fanfic rules, namely:

Quote:
Entrants to the fanfiction division are allowed to submit one piece. It must be complete and it must be at least 1,000 words and no more than 40,000.

This is so judges and public readers alike can view the work as it's meant to be seen, and aren't left with elements of the characters dangling. The length requirement is to help ensure people will have time to read all the entries.

OC 1
Character's Name: Namow Latnem
Age: 47
Occupation: Sales Assistant/Convict
Brief Physical Description: Slim, very large breasts
Brief Personality Description: She is a very eccentric lady. She loves cats and tea. Years of being addicted to drugs and plastic surgery has turned her into an insane person.
Connection to canon characters: Kristoph Gavin's client and Edgeworth was the prosecutor in her trial.
Brief Background: Namow worked in her husband's shop before he found out that he fell in love with another woman. Out of spite she kills her husband in a very brutal manner.

OC 2
Character's Name: Judge Albert Salsa
Age: 24
Occupation: Judge
Brief Physical Description: Young, tall and very athletic. Has brown hair and brown eyes to match his dark skin.
Brief Personality Description: He likes to talk and act in unique ways and tries to make the court more street friendly.
Connection to canon Characters: Presided over Namow Latmen's trial which Kristoph and Edgeworth took part in.
Brief Background: Judge Salsa is from Jamaica who came to Los Angeles to further his career as a judge.

Spoiler: Misc.
Both of these OCs were also in Law Plus Chaos and have a lot of connections to the canon characters there. Judge Salsa presides in more trials and Namow Lantem cooks Jacques Portsman into pies. Also Judge Salsa has a crush on Lana. Law Plus Chaos is too long and it isn't PG-13.

Back again, now with 200% more I actually understand the rules. Sorry about that... I misread the length requirement... :sadshoe:

Spoiler: Four different OCs
Entrant's Name: AireyVerkhovensky
Character's Name: Badriyyah Zuvan
Age: 21
Occupation: Aerospace engineering student at Ivy University
Brief Physical Description: Beautiful, broad-shouldered-wide-hipped woman, with long, flowing black hair in a wide, messy plait reaching halfway down her back and smooth, clear dark skin. Eyes are a deep, dark purply-blue, like the night sky if it didn't have any stars. Strong jaw, long legs. (I'm just quoting the physical descriptions from the fic; I assume that's acceptable.)
Brief Personality Description: Haughty, somewhat abrasive, has a tendency to be sarcastic and condescending. Extremely clever and very manipulative - will even go as far as to (attempt to) seduce people in order to get her way. Falls apart quickly once the tide has turned against her. Slightly obsessive.
Connection to canon characters (if applicable): Was dating Clay Terran for about a year. Was also cheating on him. Testified against him in court, oh yeah and framed him for murder.
Brief Background: Was dating the victim in the case before "dumping" him for Clay, except she didn't really dump him; she just continued dating him behind everyone's back. And then the victim started threatening to tell Clay what was really going on...
Link to entry: All of these OCs are from this fic. Badriyyah's first appearance is in "Day 1" and she appears in every chapter until "Day 4".

Character's Name: Hans Dromeda
Age: 30
Occupation: Unemployed
Brief Physical Description: Short, skinny greaser, complete with pompadour and leather jacket
Brief Personality Description: Wannabe-suave, but doesn't let things really get to him. Kind of an odd guy. Somewhat insecure about his night blindness, and scared of being judged for being a nerd.
Connection to canon characters (if applicable): Testified against Clay Terran. Recognizes both Clay and Apollo Justice, along with the rest of the GYAXA staff and associates thereof, on sight because he's seen them around the Cosmos Space Center so often.
Brief Background: Used to want to work at the Cosmos Space Center, but has given up this dream.
Link to entry: Only appears in "Day 2".

Character's Name: Mal Keyway
Age: 25
Occupation: Freelance actor, part-time barista at Space Latte
Brief Physical Description: Feminine-looking man wearing entirely black clothing. Hair is a light bluish color and seems to sparkle somewhat. Eyes can't be seen under thick, round glasses.
Brief Personality Description: Kind of arrogant, kind of dim. Breaks easily under pressure.
Connection to canon characters (if applicable): Testified against Clay Terran.
Brief Background: Was friends with the victim in the case, and was convinced by Badriyyah to slightly change part of his testimony.
Link to entry: Only appears in "Day 3".

Character's Name: Magel Laniklowd
Age: 23
Occupation: Used car salesman
Brief Physical Description: Unusually tall, extremely buff man in a star-spangled muscle shirt and way-too-short shorts.
Brief Personality Description: None too bright. Has a tendency to leap to conclusions and is easily influenced by other people.
Connection to canon characters (if applicable): Testified against Clay Terran.
Brief Background: Was friends with the victim in the case, and was convinced by Badriyyah to completely fabricate his testimony.
Link to entry: Only appears in "Day 3".

Entrant's Name: Lemonsmoothie
Other notes: My entry only contains spoilers for Trials and Tribulations. There is a brief pre UR-1 appearance by Simon Blackquill, but there are otherwise no spoilers for the plot of Dual Destinies. I have not played GK2 and PLvPWAA. My two OCs are tied to Diego Armando/Godot.

OC 1
Character's Name: Claremont McKenna
Age: 32 (in 2019)
Occupation: Current Chief Prosecutor
Brief Physical Description: Solidly built, short white hair, pierced ears. Unlike Lana and Franziska, Claremont wears masculine clothes: long trousers, a navy blue and gray jacket, white shirt, high black boots, and black gloves. She wears very expensive diamond stud earrings.
Brief Personality Description: Godot sums up her personality with, "They called her the Ice Queen, and not always behind her back." Claremont is prideful and arrogant, with a frosty demeanor. However, she despises lies and dishonesty.
Connection to canon characters (if applicable): She served as a prosecutor under Lana Skye. She was a coworker to Miles Edgeworth, though they rarely if ever exchanged words.
Brief Background: Though her record is not perfect, McKenna is proud of her high conviction rate. She supposedly resents her juniors Lana Skye and Miles Edgeworth for being higher ranked than her before and during the original Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney, but is determined to prove her worth. She was named Chief Prosecutor after Lana Skye was incarcerated for obstruction of justice. To be fair, it probably would have gone to Miles Edgeworth, but he left the country. Claremont oversaw trials and was the one to hire Diego Armando in the guise of Prosecutor Godot. Though Chief Prosecutors usually supervise, Claremont was known to occasionally stand in the courtroom herself. It was her way of establishing rapport with her subordinates. After Diego was arrested for the death of Misty Fey, Claremont arranged a coroner's inquest.
Other trivia: Claremont is named after the college in Claremont, California. Her androgynous name and manner of dress are a play on the fact that Claremont McKenna was an all-male institution before 1976. Claremont is also one of a series of OCs named after the Claremont Colleges: Claremont herself, Harvey Mudd, Julia Scripps, Priscilla Pomona, Peyton Pitzer, and Howard Keck. However, those other OCs have not appeared physically in my works to date.

OC 2
Character's Name: Azrael
Age: Unknown, essentially ageless
Occupation: Angel of Death
Brief Physical Description: Appears as a tall, beautiful young man. He has long golden hair and creamy skin. He wears a long red trenchcoat. Interestingly, when he appears in the real world, he casts no shadow.
Brief Personality Description: Basically, one should not want to buy a used car from Azrael. Though honest, he has a rather sleazy affect. He often appears before Diego, teasing him.
Connection to canon characters: Appeared to Diego Armando when Diego was hovering between life and death on a ventilator after being poisoned. Diego asked if he could ever wake up again, and Azrael said yes. But it was contingent on accepting that 1) Diego's body would not be as strong as it was, and there was some irrepairable damage and 2) Diego must accept all circumstances up to and including Mia Fey's death and his accidental killing of Misty Fey.
Brief Background: Is essentially a psychopomp. He carries the souls of the dead to "the other side." He once appeared before Claremont McKenna, though she unexpectedly survived.

Here's my entry:

Entrant's Name: ProbablyImpossible
Entrant's Website: https://www.fanfiction.net/~probableimpossibilities

Character's Name: Marlow Fernicker
Age: 31
Occupation: Defense Attorney

Brief Physical Description: At 6’3”, Marlow is tall and rather gangly. He has dark, somewhat sloppily spiked hair with long bangs down the left side of his face, green eyes, a medium-dark tan, and an ever-present swath of chin stubble. His usual court outfit consists of a white dress shirt with the sleeves rolled up, an obnoxious yellow vest, a black tie, and reddish-brown pants.

Brief Personality Description: Marlow is, on the surface, a generally unpleasant individual. He’s prickly and cynical, oftentimes rude, and he professes to hate lawyers with “ideals.” He is not above taking a case simply for the money, even though his client may be very obviously at fault. Many of his coworkers dislike him, a fact that he is actually somewhat proud of. However, he does have a soft spot for his pet turtle, Conrad, who accompanies him to work quite often and occasionally sleeps next to him in his bed. Deep down, he actually has a firm sense of morality (though he would never admit to it); he wants others to see him as the kind of person who simply doesn’t give a crap, and so overcompensates with extreme dourness. “Looking cool” is important to him (though he’s really not very “cool” at all), so although he doesn’t smoke, he can often be found with an unlit cigarette in his mouth, claiming that it helps him think.

Connection to canon characters (if applicable): He cross-examines Detective Gumshoe during Adley Taylor’s trial, reads a transcript of one of Phoenix and Edgeworth’s trials, and mentions Prosecutor Blackquill in passing. He also has a brief interaction with Officer Hammer (from the manga).

Brief Background: Marlow spent the entirety of his childhood in a suburb of Los Angeles; his parents were relatively affluent, so he lived a comfortable life and received a good education. From the time he was a teenager until his early adult years, he was actually extremely idealistic, and believed that it was his purpose in life to help people. He formed a deep friendship with a boy named Marcel Taylor in high school, and the two even went on to attend the same university. During that time, Marlow met and befriended a quiet pre-law student named Sidney Baynes, but the two of them lost touch after Marlow graduated. With their diplomas in hand, Marlow and Marcel started their own company selling medical supplies. However, less than a year after founding the start-up, Marlow discovered that Marcel had been cutting corners, leading to problems with the products. Afraid of being found responsible, Marcel fled the state, leaving Marlow to cope with the situation on his own. A month later, the company was sued, and, thanks to shoddy defense work, he was found liable and lost quite a bit of money. This incident brought about a radical change in him; he lost his purpose and cut himself off completely from everything he knew and had been before the case, which included everything from his ideals to his parents. During a hallway shouting match, his attorney claimed that he’d done the best he could, and Marlow responded by saying that he could have done a better job himself. The attorney said he’d like to see him try, and Marlow took him up on his challenge, scrounging together the money he had left, moving to Philadelphia, and working multiple jobs to put himself through law school. After passing the bar, he joined a civil defense firm focused primarily on cases involving big companies, and gradually became desensitized to the corruption and shady practices of his clients. His sharp intellect, raw determination, and constant pushing of the envelope have made him a formidable attorney, though office politics are a bit beyond his ken and thus have prevented him from ascending the corporate ladder.

Character's Name: Sidney Baynes
Age: 29
Occupation: Prosecutor

Brief Physical Description: Sidney is 5’10” and very pale, with straight blonde hair that divides into two long bangs that frame his face. He has blue eyes, which are always hidden behind a pair of glasses with thick black frames, and a somewhat boyish face. In court, he wears a white dress shirt, black vest and pants, and a red scarf around his neck, which he never takes off regardless of the temperature outside.

Brief Personality Description: Sidney is extremely timid and decidedly passive in temperament. He never talks to strangers unless he feels that he absolutely must do so, leading some of his colleagues to believe that he is actually either mute or deaf. He also has a habit of ending his sentences with “…if that’s alright with you” or “if you want,” even when interrogating defendants. In addition to this, he suffers from mild agoraphobia; though he is alright with leaving his house, he follows a strict routine whenever he goes outside and never strays from his chosen route or mode of transportation. He is extremely intelligent, though if something is causing him too much trouble, he becomes nervous or intimidated and immediately gives up.

Connection to canon characters (if applicable): He works under Chief Prosecutor Miles Edgeworth, whom he greatly admires for his strength and presence in the courtroom. He is also deathly afraid of Prosecutor Blackquill, and actively avoids him at all times (though this is really more of an anti-connection, I s’pose). He also worked with Detective Gumshoe in bringing the murder case against Adley Taylor.

Brief Background: Sidney grew up in a small town in southern California; his parents were middle-class, hardworking Americans who thought it would be a good idea to have six children, all of whom turned out to be boys. Sidney, as the second-youngest, was constantly teased by his brothers for being a “chicken,” and so became even more timid and nervous than he might have been otherwise. When it came time for him to attend college, he decided to go to Los Angeles, which was sufficiently far away from his brothers but also close enough to home that he didn’t feel extraordinarily uncomfortable. During his time at college, he met Marlow Fernicker, and the two became friends. Sidney believed that Marlow helped him feel more confident in his own abilities, but when the older man graduated, Sidney came to realize that he had been relying on Marlow as a crutch. Wanting to feel more independent, he decided to permanently move out of his parents’ house and began renting an apartment of his own in Los Angeles. He attended law school at Ivy University and started working for the LA District Attorney shortly after he passed the bar. His nervousness and quiet attitude have both harmed and helped him in court; he has been both taken advantage of and naively underestimated by defendants in various cases. His keen eye for detail and acute awareness of what people are thinking have helped him to build a good win record for himself, though he (unreasonably) fears that he is constantly on the verge of being fired even after having recently received a promotion.

Character's Name: Adley Taylor
Age: 23
Occupation: Court Stenographer

Brief Physical Description: Adley is 5’3” with an athletic build and a light tan. She has short brown hair that just barely covers her ears, her eyes are light brown, and she has a slight smattering of freckles on her cheeks. Her court clothes consist of a powder-blue pantsuit, a white blouse, and black stilettos.
Brief Personality Description: Adley is bright and outgoing on the surface, but behind the façade, she is actually somewhat manipulative. She feels a certain need to be in control of her situation at all times, as helplessness can be very crippling to her. She makes assumptions easily and always has to be right in arguments, and she comes off as very strong-willed and stubborn. Despite all this, she is a generally well-liked person, and she usually does have good intentions. She also has a great memory and can type at lightning speeds.

Connection to canon characters (if applicable): She once recorded the transcript of one of Phoenix Wright’s trials, and she was investigated by Detective Gumshoe when she was accused of murder.

Brief Background: Adley grew up in a Los Angeles suburb with her mother and her older brother, Marcel. Because she never knew her father, she developed a very close relationship with Marcel, almost idolizing him. She always enjoyed reading and writing as a child, and dreamed of one day becoming a famous novelist, but she never did extraordinarily well in school and maintained a C average. When Marcel started attending college, he urged her to pursue a more realistic career, so she decided to become a secretary (Marcel was the only one who could ever get her to change her mind). However, after her brother’s company was sued and he disappeared, Adley felt lost and decided to turn her talents to the courts. Immediately after graduating college, she became a freelance stenographer, transcribing everything from trials to wedding ceremonies.

My entry is finally complete and that brings me endless joy.

Entrant's Name: Alex at RufflesAndCo
Link to entry: They're all in the same fanfic so whoo. https://www.fanfiction.net/s/10635494/1 ... d-Musicals

Spoiler: Entry No.1
Character's Name: Atticus Flynn
Age: 24
Occupation: Prosecutor
Brief Physical Description: He’s short, and he hates it. Taller than Apollo Justice though. Atticus owns a nice new suit but always seems to grab a blue striped hoodie instead. He owns at least 3 pairs of all blue framed glasses but his old broken pair are the most comfortable even though he can barely see out them. Of course this means he can’t use his analysis lawyer power and pose as quite a problem when he’s investigating. He has a mop of messy darkish blonde curls that are just long enough to tie into a pony tail, which he never does because it looks stupid.
Brief Personality Description: They don’t call him the musical prosecutor for nothing. He constantly quotes them and often at the worst of times. He’s a pretty serious guy but is too smart for his own good, often underestimating his opponents both in and out of court and landing himself in hot water. At least it means he can afford to joke around.
Connection to canon characters (if applicable): Edgeworth is his boss, as he is still the Chief Prosecutor. He also has minimal ties to all the other prosecutors as co-workers. However he gets along great with Detective Gumshoe, and they always try to work together when Edgeworth isn’t looking or Flynn’s personal detective is out of down.
Brief Background: Flynn’s life was mainstream, until he decided to become a lawyer. His parents disagreed with the decision because they expected him to become a doctor like them. They don’t matter, or talk to him anymore. Unlike every other prosecutor before him, Flynn has no undying urge to find the truth, or perfection, or divine justice. He just likes the salary prosecutors are paid, and being able to throw the bad guys is prison is enough of a bonus.

Spoiler: Entry No.2
Character's Name: Valerie Mason (Don’t mention the song to her)
Age: 27
Occupation: Coroner turned Detective
Brief Physical Description: Valerie is an extremely tall, strong, intelligent woman who insists on dying her highlights a different colour for almost every case she has. She has dark skin but is proud of her heritage and won’t let anyone give her a hard time about it.
Brief Personality Description: She is confident to the point of being aggressive. It radiates off her is a wave of cockiness. No one dares to challenge her, ever. Especially when she’s on a roll or doing her job, that would be plain deadly.
Brief Background: Mason studied to be a coroner and loved everything about working in the industry of death. Except the ruined reputation of coroners as ‘old ladies that did anything the prosecutors asked and faked autopsies at request’. It was hard enough making friends in her line of work, so she jumped aboard the justice train. Passing the exam was easy and she already knew enough people on the force to be accepted pretty quickly. On a handful of cases she bumped into Atticus Flynn and they always ended up clashing, but as the only rookie prosecutor without a regularly assigned detective and a ‘personality no one else wanted to work with’ he was as good as Valerie was going to get.

Spoiler: Entry No.3
Character's Name: Icarus Quinn (IQ or Quincy by friends)
Age: 22
Occupation: Defense Attorney
Brief Physical Description: As a result of frequent childhood sickness, Icarus’ growth was rather stunted. He barely reached 160cm. He tries to hide it behind a professional looking while tailcoat, cravat (idea from from Miles Edgeworth), and a broach. Soft near white blonde hair didn’t help his childish appearance so he tried growing it out but ended up too sentimental about cutting it, leaving it just below neck length.
Brief Personality Description: Due to not having many people to talk to Quinn is very nervous is social situations. If he’s out in public, which only happens with friends, he frequently uses them as human shields and hides behind them. He cries a lot but no one holds it against him.
But bring the law into it and he’s a completely different person. Shyness turns to confidence and he becomes an energetic ball of lawyer. But he’s always firm to his beliefs. His memory is eidetic (photographic). Has a slightly obsessive personality, easily getting addicted to things such as bingo, online poker, people and most importantly cotton candy. It’s not even a joke anymore.
Connection to canon characters (if applicable): Icarus has cyber stalked almost every prosecutor or defense attorney for at least a week while studying in law school. He knows their heights, birthdays, blood types, eye colour, and what shade hair dye they use, and has read every article court write up and law book that mentions them he could find. But he doesn’t think it’s weird.
Brief Background: Quinn was born deaf. At a week old his mother left him at an orphanage and he never saw her again. He was always told he would never get adopted because of his unexplained condition, which also left him isolated from other children and orphanage staff. Unfortunately, they were right. At 18 he left the orphanage, but one kinder woman managed to find him a job where he didn’t need to be able to hear or speak. Thinking he would be stuck stocking shelves forever Icarus was shocked to discover how many orphans of different backgrounds there was in the world of law. They became icons to him, of those who defeated the odds against them, and inspired him to go to law school, a challenge in itself as all he could do was read and write. But with nothing to lose he tried anyway and ended up loving it.

Spoiler: Entry No.4
Character's Name: Samuel Fosters
Age: 23
Occupation: Defense Assistant/ Translator
Brief Physical Description: A touch on the big side but nothing unhealthy or extremely noticeable, just no muscles and some flabby bits of skin he hides under baggy clothing. Brown hair generally somewhat gelled up. He’s never been seen without his green scarf on, including sleeping, swimming, showering and going to the toilet with it on.
Brief Personality Description: A spoilt little rich kid who tries not to let it show. His heart’s in the right place at least.
Connection to canon characters (if applicable): Went to Themis Academy so is familiar with most who went there, but they weren’t friends or anything. Just enough to be able to say ‘Hey ____’.
Brief Background: Fosters feels back, because despite what he’s name implies he lived a completely normal childhood. Both parents were alive, well, supportive and let him do whatever the hell he wanted. Sometimes he wished they were more controlling because he craves that normal lifestyle. They didn’t really care when he went to the best law school in the country and them dropped out for no reason. He tried to be independent from them but with no job and rent it didn’t last long. When he met Quincy he thought it would all change and he could live like the poor people but turns out they didn’t end up taking enough cases anyway and still leech off his parents bank accounts when money is tight.

Alright, I can't believe it's finally done, but here goes nothing. This work has been my life all summer. I'm so excited to finally share it with everyone.

Entrant's Name: Diana Gray
Entrant's Website: https://www.fanfiction.net/u/2965390/Diana-E-Gray, http://www.gamecola.net

Spoiler: 2 OCs, Spoilers for the final case of AAI
Character's Name: Quinn Alba
Age: 23
Occupation: Criminal Mastermind/Smuggling Ring Leader
Brief Physical Description: Quinn is fairly petite, with bright almond-shaped blue eyes and straight brown hair. She is also very pale, as a result of the amount of time she spends in front of her computer. Her rounded features and slight physique give her an innocent look, but don’t be fooled – her mind is far sharper than her appearance makes it seem.
Brief Personality Description: Quinn is the “brains” behind the new smuggling ring. She is a genius when it comes to computers, the business side of the ring, and manipulating people. Quinn is very controlling and very vindictive, willing to sacrifice anything or anyone to achieve her own goals. She has a sadistic streak, often spending time watching videos of her brother’s assassinations. Quinn is a master of psychological torture, knowing exactly how to break her victims. She is far more conniving than her brother and is hell-bent for revenge on the people who took down her “father.”
Connection to canon characters: Quinn was taken in and given personal training by Quercus Alba. As a result, she considers him a strong father figure. She bears a strong grudge against the canon characters responsible for the downfall of the smuggling ring, such as Miles Edgeworth, Dick Gumshoe, Kay Faraday, Franziska von Karma, and Shi-Long Lang.
Trivia: Quinn's name roughly translates to "intelligent, cunning, and wise" from Celtic.

Character's Name: Qadir Alba
Age: 23
Occupation: Assassin/Smuggling Ring Leader
Brief Physical Description: Qadir is very fit and very intimidating, as he is trained in multiple types of martial arts and assassinations and has mastered almost all types of weapons. His blue eyes and brown hair match those of his sister, although he is a little more tan than her. He carries himself confidently. His features are harsh and do not allow for much emotion.
Brief Personality Description: Qadir is a strong yet submissive type, easily influenced by his sister Quinn. He dislikes using his skills against what he considers as “innocents,” but is completely vengeful toward those who he believes have wronged him or his family. He is extremely protective of his sister and is worried about her affinity toward pain and suffering. Qadir sometimes questions his role as the “brawn” of the smuggling ring, but often relents because he knows that is where he belongs.
Connection to canon characters: Although Qadir was not personally trained by Quercus Alba, he still has a tremendous amount of respect for him and like his sister, considers him a father figure. Because of this and because of his sister’s influence, he also bears hatred toward those who brought down the original ring.
Trivia: Qadir roughly translates to "capable, powerful" from Arabic.

Brief Background: It is impossible to talk about one twin without talking about the other.
Quinn and Qadir were born in Allebahst in 2006. Their parents worked in the Allebahstian government and were too busy to handle their two children. As a result, the two grew up fairly quickly, learning to fend for themselves in an empty mansion. Quinn quickly established dominance over her brother with her intelligence. Qadir served as his sister’s protector. Their parents would occasionally attempt to take their children out as a family, which usually led to Quinn and Qadir running off and having adventures on their own.
It was on one of these outings that they were first noticed by Quercus Alba – Qadir displayed his immense strength and Quinn demonstrated her knowledge of economic matters. They were six years old. A few days later, Alba and his associate, Burr Oak, arrived at the children’s home. They kidnapped the children and their parents, eventually killing the latter. The children felt little to no remorse. Qadir originally had some misgivings about Alba, but quickly became accustomed to his new life at the urging of his sister.
The training began after this – Qadir worked with Burr Oak to become the “brawn,” becoming a skilled assassin and martial artist, while Quinn was trained by Quercus Alba himself on the workings of the smuggling ring. Quercus and Quinn also worked together to develop a form of psychological torture, utilizing suggestion, manipulation, and technology, all of which Quinn had mastered at a very young age. The twins worked hard for seven years in preparation to take over the smuggling ring one day.
In 2019, the ring was compromised by Miles Edgeworth, Kay Faraday, and Shi-Long Lang, along with others. Quercus Alba was sent to prison after being tried in both America and Cohdopia, and Burr Oak went into hiding. The twins also vanished. They were only thirteen. They were not heard from again until ten years later, when Alba called them to visit him in the detention center, knowing his time was coming to an end…

As she make up her hair alone, the right ponytail is always bigger and higher than the left one. She wears everyday her favourites pink overalls (with heart-shaped buttons) and a yellow T-Shirt. Brief Personality Description: As a lot of young girls, she is disobedient and she likes to pester her brother. She spends her time watching the Steel Samurai's TV-show with Brian and reading books about UFO. She has indeed a true obsession for aliens. She draws with a pink pen little stars on her cheeks and even everywhere in the aim to communicate with Masters of Cosmos, and she writes them letters in a crypted language in which she asks them to come on Earth to bring her little brother back. Actually, she looks like a wrinkled apple with owl eyes.

Entrant's Name: Ropfa

Spoiler: OC #1
Character's Name: Mona Van Reaghann
Age: 16
Occupation: Prosecutor
Nationality: Western European constitutional monarchy
Name pun: Name essentially means “Royal Royal Royal.”

Background:
Part of the royal family from her country. Twenty-seventh in the line of succession for the throne. Like many girls, when she was younger, she wished she could one day become a princess. However, due to her status, she was constantly tormented with the fact that this was technically a possibility, but without any real chance of it ever happening.
Using her family’s influence to blitz her way through law school, she became a prosecutor, as there was no chance of her ascending to the throne or even getting any significant spotlight. She felt that that way, she would still be able to bully and order people around, even if it was on a smaller scale. She saw this as a way of compensating.
She’s pretty bad at her job and only got it through her family’s connections. For this, a lot of others in the legal profession resent her and make fun of her behind her back. The judge and police generally play along with her, as otherwise she’ll throw a fit (though once the defense has started to turn a case against her, she is reminded just how lowly everyone actually think of her). She is aware of this, but realizes the truth and is too embarrassed by it to confront it directly.

Personality Description:
Has a huge inferiority complex, due to being overshadowed by the others higher up in the line of succession. Very bitter about her lot in life and willing to take it out on anyone who she perceives to be challenging her (which is almost everyone).
Despite not having the position she always wanted, she still lives a very cushy life as royalty, even if she won’t admit it. Besides a chance at the throne, she’s gotten almost everything else she ever wanted. She’ll throw a temper tantrum if she doesn’t get her way, which may cause the judge to side with her, simply to get her to shut up and calm down.
Mona is not a very intelligent prosecutor. She is easily fooled by the defense and overlooks obvious contradictions. However, she’s able to work around this by intimidating the judge by threatening to use her family’s influence to get him fired.
A bit hyperactive. Hotheaded and agitated rather easily, due to her subconscious lack of self-confidence. Also, due to this same lack of confidence, she’s actually not overly condescending, as one might expect of royalty. Her aggression is mainly a defense mechanism.

Physical description:
Dresses like a fairytale princess. Wears a bright blue ball gown.
Wears a tiara and carries a scepter (they’re both plastic – she bought them in a bargain bin at a corner store). She’ll spin the scepter around like a bo-staff when agitated and bang it on the desk when she's really ticked off.
Generally very tense, even in situations that wouldn’t call for it.
Still a young teenager and is below average in height. She isn’t nearly as visually intimidating as she would probably hope to be.

Spoiler: OC #2
Character's Name: Sean Basel
Age: 32
Occupation: Defense attorney
Name pun: Vaguely sounds like the Irish word for "sarcasm," which fits his personality pretty well.

Background:
Sean is Mona's estranged half-cousin, though she'd never admit to it. His father was also from the royal line, but his mother was a common person, therefore he is an illegitimate child and even farther removed from the throne than Mona is. He was raised by his mother and never officially acknowledged by his father, so as to not shame the royal family. When he was old enough to attend university, he studied in law and psychology, and then eventually took the bar exam to become a lawyer in his mid-twenties - an age that's fairly typical for the profession. However, unlike Mona, he relied on dedicated studying and willpower, rather than his connections, which enabled him to become a bright and effective attorney.
Outwardly, Sean claims to have no desire to have any relation with his father's side, though much of this is a facade. Like Mona, he is rather bitter, but he is much better at hiding it.
He's faced Mona in court a few times. In fact, he closely follows every police arrest, just so he can pick out when she will be prosecuting, and choose his cases accordingly, regardless of whether or not he believes the suspect to be innocent. Making a fool of her sometimes becomes more of his goal during a trial than even getting the defendant acquitted.

Personality Description:
Sean is a confident person. He's well aware of his own weaknesses and limitations and knows how to work around them. He's a smooth-talker and can often get others to either ignore or become completely oblivious to these weaknesses (though sometimes this backfires horribly if the other person has already caught onto his act).
He is very sarcastic and witty, and will verbally attack others when they've erred. He finds Mona's blatant insecurities to be humorous. During a trial, he will constantly play off of her inferiority complex, so that she will throw a fit and lose concentration on the actual case. He never hesitates to bring up her low position in the line of succession, or the fact that she got her current job by not really doing anything. He's even won a case or two simply because she forgot what was going on.
He's not afraid to use other similar underhanded tactics. Though never stooping so low as to forge evidence, he's not above defending clearly guilty people and will work just as hard to get them acquitted as he would somebody who is innocent. He uses charm and wit to win the court over to his side when evidence is lacking. He'll use a lot of pathos in his arguments, to get the court emotionally involved and side with him.
However, he does have his own insecurities. He secretly longs to be accepted as one of the royal family, even if it does not include an actual position of power. He is resentful towards his father's side of the family for never fully acknowledging him. He is especially irked that Mona whines about not being high enough in the line of succession - simply being a part of it would be enough to satisfy him.

Physical Description:
Has a vague family resemblance to Mona, which neither of them are particular happy about.
He dresses in formal attire, as is expected in a court setting. He mocks Mona for wearing a ball gown and tiara.

Well, here goes nothing! (There are a couple more chapters that I'll post before the deadline, but it'll be completed by then. I just have to make some last minute edits.) :shoe: :franny: :shoe:

My story's rather long. Amber Barnett is in almost every chapter, Keith Aiden is at the beginning, Dylan Barnett is randomly scattered throughout, and Kate Margana and Adrianna Means are in the later chapters (12 and beyond).

Entrant's Name: MadFox32
Entrant's Website: https://www.fanfiction.net/u/5466993/
Link to entry: https://www.fanfiction.net/s/10644331/1 ... from-Doubt

Characters:

Character's Name: Amber Barnett
Age: 29
Occupation: Prosecutor
Brief Physical Description: Amber is quite small, weighing 96 pounds and standing at 5’2”. Despite this, she can be very intimidating. She often glares without thinking; One prosecutor noted that he was surprised that her piercing brown eyes hadn’t shattered her glasses. They contrast starkly against her pale complexion and short platinum blonde hair, giving them a dark, thoughtful look. She is thought to be cute, to her chagrin.
As for clothing, Amber is rarely seen without her trademark black undershirt and teal overcoat, preferring a white scarf over a tie. She despises skirts, but wears them in court in order to retain a professional, feminine look. Outside of court, however, she typically prefers black dress pants, which are often a bit dirty due to her own personal crime scene investigations.
Brief Personality Description: Amber is a follower of rules, whether legal or not. If she grew up learning to wear green on St. Patrick’s day, she would follow the rule as strictly as she would if the law said not to jaywalk. She is very analytical, and doesn’t care much for “unnecessary emotions”, though she values moral obligations, including compassion and loyalty, as being of utmost importance. She is very logical and intelligent, causing her to be extremely talented in court. She seeks the truth, but can lose it due to her tendency to follow strict procedures and guidelines. She has no tolerance for those that bend the rules. However, she is also known to be very kind and selfless. She is incredibly loyal to those close to her, though there aren’t many. She is passionate about keeping order, and becomes stressed in chaotic situations. Overall, Amber is a quiet, logical individual who would do anything for those she cares about, as long as it’s legal.
Spoiler:
Connection to canon characters (if applicable): Amber’s first case was against Simon Blackquill when he received his false conviction. She feels that he was guilty, and has a strong dislike of Athena Cykes, who overturned her logical case due to someone’s “feelings”. She dislikes Phoenix Wright for the same reasons (and more, as you’ll read in the background). However, she has a great amount of respect for Apollo Justice, due to his more logical arguments and strong sense of the law.
Brief Background: Amber’s mother, Katarina Barnett, died when giving birth to her second child, Dylan Barnett. Even as a young child, Amber was very close to her mother, and was angry that the doctors would let her die. The doctors were put on trial for murder, and found Guilty due to Manfred von Karma’s expert prosecution. To this day, Amber wonders if her mother’s death was an accident or not.
Amber’s father (Detective Jordan Barnett) was almost always at work, but was very kind toward his children. He worked under Von Karma for most of his career, and was very grateful to him for finding his wife’s murderers guilty. He cared for the prosecutor deeply, much to von Karma’s chagrin. When he was found guilty of murder, Jordan committed suicide, after realizing that he’d most likely caused the executions of many innocent people.
Amber began to take a motherly role in her younger brother’s childhood, caring very deeply about him and spending a great deal of her time assisting him. She became a prosecutor in order to spend more time with her father and put her brilliant mind to use, though her father committed suicide before she could realize her first goal. She legally adopted her younger brother at the age of 19, and cared for him throughout his time in school.
When Phoenix Wright was found guilty of forgery, Amber was devastated, believing that her father’s suicide was in vain. Her anger towards the fallen attorney caused a rift in the prosecutor’s office, as Wright’s old friends defended him (despite their profession). When Wright was later found Not Guilty, she refused to believe it until she watched the case videos, gaining a large amount of respect for Apollo Justice. She still harbors some bad feelings towards Wright, however.

Character's Name: Keith Aiden
Age: 30
Occupation: Detective
Brief Physical Description: Keith stands at 5’8”, with dark, curly hair and brown eyes. He is somewhat tan due to his long hours of investigation, and has a medium build.

He doesn’t like dressing up much, and usually wears short sleeved dress shirt, a bow tie, and jeans, much to Amber’s chagrin. In court, however, he can usually force himself into a pair of dress pants.

Brief Personality Description: Keith is known for his unique sense of humor, which most find slightly annoying. He tends to quote movies a lot when he’s bored, or in a good mood. Many people dislike him due to his blunt, somewhat insensitive nature, but those who don’t mind his quirks find him to be a very good friend. He is selfless and caring, willing to do anything for those he cares about. It takes quite a bit to make him angry, but when he does, it is often disastrous. He feels extremely guilty after these outbursts, though many don’t receive his apologies. He is very easily misunderstood, and has a tendency to apologize reverently for small things. He has a low amount of self-esteem in general.
Spoiler:
Connection to canon characters (if applicable): Keith was the detective during Simon Blackquill’s case, when he recieved a false verdict. He is a friend of Detective Gumshoe, and gets along well with Ema Skye and Klavier Gavin. He holds a lot of respect for Miles Edgeworth, some of which is returned.

Brief Background: Keith was born in a good home, filled with family members that loved him. However, as he entered school, he didn’t fit in well, and it left him feeling unwanted. He was bullied severely throughout Elementary and Middle school, and attempted suicide twice in high school. He began to develop anger problems, one time being suspended for chasing after a teacher with a meter stick. However, he met Amber Barnett, whose logical perspective and compassionate nature helped him to find hope. The two went to law school together, where Keith discovered that he wanted to become a detective. Keith graduated at the same time as Amber, and he began working under her in the Los Angeles police department. His dedication to finding the truth and attention to detail make him one of the most talented detectives in the force, though he is widely disliked for his anger problems and insensitivity.

Minor characters:

Character's Name:
Dylan Barnett
Age: 16
Occupation: High school student
Brief Physical Description: Dylan is a stereotypical ginger, with pale skin, freckles, and straight, messy orange hair. He has brown eyes and wears glasses, much like his sister. He’s somewhat taller than his sister, however, standing at 5’6”. His clothing, however, doesn’t resemble hers at all. His dresser is stuffed with athletic shorts and funny graphic tees, and he typically wears a small skull necklace that he received from his father.

Brief Personality Description: Dylan carries a contagious excitement wherever he goes, able to easily cheer up even the seemingly unbreakable prosecutors that his sister works with. He has a good sense of humor, though he rarely knows when to stop joking around. He’s quite open with his emotions, and though he can put on a smile when he needs to, he is very transparent in front of those close to him.

Connection to canon characters: Dylan is a school friend of Trucy’s, and a regular at the Wonder Bar. He typically heads straight to the prosecutor’s office after school, and roams the office after he’s finished his homework. He’s well-loved by most of the prosecutors and detectives there, despite the fact that he often gets into trouble. He spends much of his time at the prosecutor’s office with Kay Faraday, and is on very good terms with Miles Edgeworth because of this.

Brief Background: Dylan grew up without parents, for the most part. His mother died while giving birth to him, and his father committed suicide when he was six. He was raised mostly by his older sister, who legally adopted him after her father’s suicide (she was 19 at the time). It was difficult for her to look after him while she was in college, and he spent a lot of time alone. When he was eight, he met Trucy Wright, and the two of them have been good friends ever since.

Spoiler:
A year later, when he was nine, his sister finished college, and began working at the prosecutor’s office. There, he met Kay Faraday, and the pair became good friends, despite a 6 year age gap. When Miles Edgeworth became the chief prosecutor, the pair of them began to snoop around the prosecutor’s office in an attempt to catch prosecutors forging evidence. The two have helped to uncover the truth in several situations, and Edgeworth is very grateful for their efforts.

Character's Name: Adrianna Means
Age: 20
Occupation: Prosecutor
Brief Physical Description: Adrianna has a combination of sapphire eyes and premature gray hair (inherited from her father), which she dyes dark brown. She’s somewhat short, standing at 5’1”. She typically wears a white dress with a black jacket overtop, which make her eyes pop. She usually wears her hair in a tight bun.

Brief Personality Description: Adrianna is no-nonsense type of person, wishing to get her work done and out of the way as quick as possible. She would do just about anything to find the true culprit in court, a quality that is respected by most everyone. Though she rarely speaks, she has a surprisingly good relationship with Keith Aiden. She loves music.

Connection to canon characters (if applicable): She is the daughter of Aristotle Means, and continually struggles to determine whether the end truly justifies the means. Although she works as a prosecutor, she rarely speaks to anyone that she doesn’t have to. She does, however, enjoy Lamiroir’s music.

Brief Background: Adrianna was learning that the end justifies the means since conception. She was born while her parents were still dating, though they married when she was a baby. She followed this policy as she went into Themis, “acing” all of her tests, causing to be able to become a prosecutor at the young age of 19. However, when her father was found guilty of murdering Constance Courte, her philosophies began to change-- neither the means or the end seemed to be good while following her father’s policy.

Character’s name: Kate Margana
Age: 22
Occupation: Detective

Brief Physical Description: Kate is somewhat tall, standing at 5’9”. She has dirty blonde hair, emerald green eyes, and rosy cheeks. She’s relatively pale.
As far as clothing goes, she typically wears a lavender dress shirt with a purple bow, a white skirt, and flip flops (Even in the not-so-cold Japanifornian winters).

Brief Personality Description: Kate has an IQ of 148, though most wouldn't believe it. She's quite scatterbrained, and seems to apologize on an hourly basis. Kate is one of the most cheerful people in the prosecutor’s office, constantly offering a smile to anyone who needs it. She loves to help people, and believes that even the worst criminal is redeemable. Despite this, she has a clear sense of justice, and is not afraid to help deliver a death penalty if a person deserves it. Her desk constantly looks like a tornado hit it, and she’s often late to everything, which she regrets. Her feelings are easily hurt by criticism, but anyone who didn’t know her well would have no idea, since she is quite good at hiding her feelings. She is extremely honest in front of her friends, though, and wouldn’t fake a smile if it weren’t true in front of those that mean something to her. She is overall a very sweet, caring person.
Connection to canon characters (if applicable): She doesn’t know many people yet, though this won’t last long, knowing her cheerful, friendly personality.

Brief Background: Kate came from a family with a wonderful mother, an abusive father, and two younger siblings. When she was fourteen, her mother ran away with her and her younger siblings, because her father hit her five year old brother and broke his skull. Kate’s mother had to work to support the family, so Kate took on a motherly role for her younger siblings. She made it through college mostly through scholarships, and missed a single question on the bar exam (she doesn’t know what question, and it continually bothers her). She joined the prosecutor’s office in the middle of the Phantom case, so she didn’t receive a proper welcome, but she is grateful to be there.

Thanks for reading! I hope you enjoy! :trucy:

Spoiler: Character #1
Character's Name: Jose Paolo D. Masipag
Age: 49
Occupation: Head Custodian of Ivy University, Part-time custodian at the Courthouse

Brief Physical Description:

He is 5’0 in height and weighing about 240 pounds (don’t tell him that). His hair is black but messy, as his wife described correctly, like a tornado has struck his follicles. He has a natural tan colour to his skin.

His usual outfit was a dark blue track suit with the Ivy University logo on the left side and his name tag right on top of it. He wears black boots that were stained with dried mud. He also carries reading glasses.

He would always carry cleaning equipment with him, either a broom or a mop or a micro-fibre cleaning cloth with liquid soap spray. He also has a special box cutter that was a gift from his wife.

He also carries around a lavender scented air freshener.

His only accessory is his wedding ring, because he believes that any kind of accessory would just get in the way of his cleaning, even watches.

Brief Personality Description:

He is quite passionate about his job, and much to the annoyance of others, enjoys talking about cleaning too. He would tend to correct others if others call him a janitor. “The correct term is Custodian, sir.”

He tends to call everyone sir, miss, or madam.

Like his name states, he is hard working. He's quite humble and kind to others. But he doesn't take lightly to people who insults his job, and those who intentionally make a mess.

He loves his wife, Gamotina dearly, and would do anything to make her happy.

Connection to canon characters:

He is a main witness to Apollo’s case. His wife was a witness to a later case that had a connection to the case he was in. He works as a custodian in the Courthouse Part time, and has seen and talked to some of the attorneys and judges.

Brief Background:

He was a simple boy that grew in the country side. One day while at school, he was curious about their old janitor who seems to be always happy about his job. One day he sneaked in while the old man was preparing his equipment. To him he had seem magic. The old custodian could almost instantly make any stain and mess disappear. He was so awed by this that he decided that he wants to do magic like that! He eventually became Head Custodian of Ivy University.

Then he met the woman of his dreams, Gamotina. Who at first was incredibly depressed over that tragedy that happened years ago. He told her about his passions dreams, and eventually was able to motivate Gamotina to become a pharmacist again. They eventually got married.

Spoiler: Character #2
Character's Name: Maria Gamotina B. Masipag
Age: 38
Occupation: Pharmacist

Brief Physical Description:

She is 5’5 in height and about 270 pounds (her husband teases her about it). Her hair is wavy black, usually tied up to a pony tail or a bun.

Her usual outfit is a purple floral blouse and black pants. She wears a white lab coat on top with 3 pockets, one on the top left side which carries her pens and her name tag, and two on the bottom on two sides. It is also stained with various colours from her experience working in the field. Black, blue, yellow, pink… etc, it looked more of a smock rather than a professional lab coat (she insists of wearing it). She wears peep-toe pumps.

She wears a necklace with her wedding ring on it, because to her it would get in the way of compounding.

Brief Personality Description:

She is very optimistic and like her husband, very passionate about her work. She would always speak to anyone about science facts, mainly about medicine, much to the annoyance of her co-workers and sometimes her husband.

She always cares for her patients and always puts them first. She is very sentimental and her lab coat (that she wears) is the representation of her struggles as a pharmacist.

She loves her coffee and usually says that if she doesn't have even just one mug during a shift, she would die.

She carries a notepad with her to take notes on, it eventually becomes her nervous habit to shuffle through her pages even if it is irrelevant.

Connection to canon characters:

She is one of the witnesses of a case that was connected to a case that her husband was a witness of. She is also an expert witness that is usually summoned to explain about medicine. She works in the pharmacy that is closest to the courthouse. She also enjoys talking to our loveable judge and reminds him to take his medications.

Brief Background:

She became a pharmacist as a promise to her mother to find a cure for a rare disease that had killed her. She managed to, and was very close to being approved by the FDA. Suddenly, a news came out that someone had used the drug she made to kill an important person. Thus the company she had worked on became bankrupt, and she became devastated and depressed. She had lost her will on becoming a pharmacist until she met Jose in a reunion at Ivy.

Jose gave her motivation again to become a pharmacist and continue pursuing her passions. The two became very close and eventually married.

Please tell me if there are any problems... Thank you so much :acro: Please enjoy!
They say they are darker than a black hole, some say they are scarier than the Proto Badger. They may have power, they may have none, yet they have the power to control.

But no matter what, the truth will always be shown to the light.

OC 1

Character's Name: Melinda Libra Reid
Nicknames: Mindy, Meli, Mel

Age: 23-24 years old (in 2028)

Occupation: Defence Attorney, Musical Performer

Brief Physical Description: Light creamy brown hair, light teal coloured eyes, a bright teal embedded wavy patterned jewel on her forehead with a gold outline to make it look like a forehead pendant, A purple suit with a white shirt, yellow tie and defence attorney badge, an amethyst coloured long skirt and tanned shoes.

Brief Personality Description: She's shy when entering places she hasn't been to before, but will try her best to stay calm.
She is also gentle with both voice and touch and is loyal to her family, though no longer likes to be by her grandmother's side all the time.
They love each other, but Melinda now in her 20's wants to be free, but Serena has a hard time of accepting that for a reason.
Connection to canon characters (if applicable): Melinda does have a crush on Apollo but keeps it to herself, as she doesn't want how she feels about him to effect them both and unsure if it is love, as they met on her first trial.

Brief Background: Mindy was born to the Reid family, Isaac, her father Dreama, her mother and has two other relatives unknown to her lived in a quiet rural place until 23 years ago, when a tragic event occurred, which lead to Serena, her grandmother take care of her.
Melinda's calm and shy, due to her life mostly sheltered by her grandmother, who she is loyal as she's her family and is loyal who works for her family.
She likes reading books linked to Science, Astronomy, History, creates wind chimes, dream catchers and music boxes and be in a world of her imagination, so she sometimes daydream, but only in her spare time and tends to say famous quotes from the books she has read.
The only times Serena let's her be free is when she performs in musicals as Melody Wave and has took parts in famous ones like Les Miserables and Wicked, which she's well known for and hides her real identity. The reason is because she would be highly unrecognisable with the disguises and make-up.
She also visits the CHBRC (Cere Hospital and Brain Research Centre) being their favourite patient.
Spoiler: The Tragic Event
The tragic event 23 years go was when Aimon Target destroyed Melinda's old hometown, where nearly all of Melinda's family lived, because he saw Melinda's family's power to read minds and see a person's memory, as well as experience them as a curse to use to their own advantage.
Isaac, Melinda's father died when trying to stop Aimon's men from taking her and Melinda's mother, Dreama, who also died after giving her baby daughter, along with her older toddler son, Brian to Isaac's best friend and Aimon's brother, Aidan Target, before being killed by Aimon and burned to ashes in the forest, along with her husband.
After that tragic event, Brian was sent to Isaac's father, Lucien Reid, Serena and Aidan then made a deal with Dr Cere to suppress Melinda's memories of the event that killed her parents, in exchange for her to become a research subject to him at the hospital, since having this ability her brain was more advanced than a normal humans, even those who existed or still exist, like Albert Einstein, Stephen Hawking and even Leonardo da Vinci.
They accept, even though there would be side effects, one of them being she wouldn't be able to experience memories.
They placed a special barrier inside her that sealed off her memories of the event, as well as those that serve as a 'leak' to her memories, since Serena didn't want to take any risks of her granddaughter being traumatised again because if doing so would cause pain for Melinda and the barrier would break and she would remember the event all over again.
However there was one side effect Dr Cere wasn't aware of, the barrier's activities could actually be noticed by those born with abilities, or are holding a object that detects them.
For example, On Apollo's bracelet when it comes to talking about her past, that she doesn't know of, like Mr Target, her eyes lightly flicker white with a bright teal aura surrounding the white light, Athena's widget her sound could go off the charts by being registered at over 100%, as well as her high hearing, she could easily hear what's going on in her and Phoenix's Magatama has black psyche-locks, but the chains show bright teal lights that travel like neurons.

OC 2

Character's Name: Lady Serena "Hudson" Semorian

Age: 68

Occupation: Lady of Hudson Manor
Brief Physical Description: An elderly women, yet looks younger than she seems with grey silver hair, wearing a gold wavy head pendant with a purple crystal in the middle of her forehead that matches her soft, yet lightly stern eyes, a pink, yellow shoulder strap dress which fades to white when it goes down to the bottom of the skirt.

Brief Personality Description: Serena is kind like her grandchild, but strict and stern when she discovers things Melinda is holding was from other people and will bossy and overprotective to her, treating her like a child when she tells her to wait in the car, telling her what to do.
But will feel sorry and guilty for doing so, even though it was for her grandchild's own good, but will hide it along with her recent illness.

Connection to canon characters (if applicable): Serena notices Melinda's crush on Apollo and would tap Melinda with her walking stick every time she sees her blush, and has yelled at Apollo out of overreaction when Melinda carried a letter and goggles given to her.

Brief Background: Serena lives in Hudson Manor, a secret Semorian residence hidden in The Wave District as a holiday home, which became her original home after a tragic event 23 years ago, which lead to her looking after her granddaughter, Melinda.
For 23 years she has been looking after her grandchild and loves her dearly, and always does her best to make sure she could live her life fear free, and has managed to get her in musical performances, and later as she grew up, the courtroom as a defence attorney.
The reason why is currently unknown.
Spoiler: The Reason
Actually, the reason why Serena placed her granddaughter in the courtroom was for Brian to see her little sister again, as discussed with Lucien "LeSeer" Reid, Melinda and Brian's grandfather and Aidan Target.
Also she thought with Melinda being involved with the law, she would be more protected, then later after solving her third case, which involved Serena being poisoned and Melinda no longer wanting to be sheltered proves to her how much she has grown and follows on with Lucien and Aidan's plan to end Aimon Target's attacks once and for all.

(Also, just to inform you this is my first Ace Attorney fanfic and Prosecutor Polaris Verde, Melinda's rival for her first case is NOT my character. It's decode9's and we've been planning out the stories on PM and the Forum related to the fanfic, along with RainyThursday. I give thanks to them for helping me with Melinda's cases! And there's a soundtrack decode put together that she gathered on YouTube that fit's her well.)

Here's the link to the forum if any volunteers take an interest to her and want to help out in in anyway if you wish: https://www.fanfiction.net/forum/Melinda-Reid-Ace-Attorney-Roleplay-and-More/155665/
