Dual Destinies iOS was unexpectedly released for Japan on August 7th.
https://itunes.apple.com/jp/app/ni-zhua ... 80297?mt=8

It is also being released in North America and Europe very soon.

My question is, does this now allow us to finally acquire Dual Destinies sprites?
If so, could any Japanese forumers help out with this? I'd love to see this finally complete the missing sprites of the latest game.

Thanks!

Dual Destinies uses 3D models, not sprites. Still, I've extracted the files from the iOS version already, and if anyone knows about how to open, or unpack 3D models from .tex and .mlr files, maybe we could get some models people can animate!

Or at the very least, capture frames of the models to use as sprites.

Ripping the models Is a lot better than just screenshots. This way people can make custom poses and such for the characters.

I know, I'm just thinking about it that way since AAO uses animated Gifs for the characters.

I had a go at making a sprite version of Trucy to see how it came out and this is the result:
Image

HOW I DID THIS:
1. Recorded the iOS version using iRec
2. Opened the recording in photoshop and cut out the frames of Trucy's pose, then the eyes and mouths and layered them all into one image
3. Decreased size to 16% and made the canvas the same dimensions as the DS
4. Drew the outlines and removed any translucent pixels around the edges

I admit, this'd be a lot easier to do with static poses like this if individual frames were captured with a 3DS capture card, but if anyone else has the iOS version and wants more details on how to make these, I can tell you how to in Photoshop, and maybe we can all build up a little library of these!

Awesome work. Here's hoping this means we can finally get some worthwhile Athena/Blackquill court sprites.

If you could make a tutorial in the Sprite section I'd make tons and I'm sure the whole community would help to make the Dual Destinies sprite section complete!
