Now, come to think of it... Why do I sense a déjà vu feeling when I look at Shiro's new Maya Sprite? :think-pw:

I can still recognise the face as Maya's. I think you need a bit more definition around her nose? Her face looks a bit flat.

Thanks Mij! I made some slight changes! Is this better?? Im not really good with nose shadings

Yeah, it looks better! Don't worry. I learned that through mistakes (My Cam Melian sprite had a flat face and Hessehl helped point that out XD).

Hm, what method are you using for drawing the face? I feel like the eyes aren't defined enough and that they're a bit uneven.

Try to compare with the new Maya's face and your Detective/Cammy's face. You may notice something coincidentical. :jake:

I noticed that as well! I think it's not that big an issue as it still looks like Maya.

Method? Hmm, i drew it at the size of Maya's iOS sprite, replaced the head, and then downscaled it together!
And then, the eyes lost most of its details

Really?! :beef: I'm pretty sure they are of the same size, but i could be wrong :payne:

Yeah, it looked a bit like detail lost through downscaling. I've only found that experimenting a bit in how the resizing is done can save it a bit or just going over it again after it's resized are the ways to get around it.

I tried all the scaling settings available in gimp, the eyes look pretty much the same for all settings :sadshoe:

Hi Shiro, I'm Hessehl or Hesshie for friends.
I'm a more or less frequent poster here in the sprite section.
I've been looking your sprites for a long time and I can say that your spriting techniques are really good.
Scratching is hard, and I can say your style is really unique!
My favorite character (and sprite) of yours is Stan Owey,I would like to see more of him.
Then again, this was just to say something here that hasn't been said before.

Hello! It has been a long time! Army has been burning my poor weekends.

I haven't had any motivation to draw anything, and no ideas for any OCs,
but i was really eager to sprite something xD
So I thought I will try to redo my Lynne's sprite

I couldn't really get the face right, but hey, i had fun :edgey:

Also... You're an Army Student?

I don't get much ideas for competitions :payne:

It looks really god! I think the eyes are too long. Start with the iris (is that what it's called? the coloured part :shoe: ) being a circle, then work around it. I always draw it like that, and see how much the eyelid covers.

And wow! You need to serve in the army. That's kinda cool, but I'd be frightened to
:udgey:
Best of luck with the rest of your time! I hope you're doing well!

I see! I will try it out :edgey: I find it really hard to draw eyes in 256x192 though :payne:

Haha! It seems scary at first, but its alright once you get used to it. It's not really cool seeing that it delays my uni by 2 years :sadshoe:

I draw my sprites at 4 times the size, then downscale, that could help you out with the problem of a small canvas?
Also, that's a bummer. Yeah, especially if you want to study that'd be annoying. :payne:

But I heard the same in South and North Korea,An artist who is drawing a doujinshi must to leave it because he's force to serve to the military too :grey:

And good luck with it!Try to stay well! :basil:

Ohman... it has been so long, again. Hello people! Thought i will show what i was doing with my little free time. I got myself a Samsung tab with an S pen, and i had a lot of fun with it. So below are some stuffs i did with my tablet.

My er... third attempt at a Lynne sprite  . Everytime i look at my own thread, I always felt like remaking Lynne's sprite :bellboy:
This will probably be the last time that I will redo it though... i hope. (Hoping to work on more poses from this)
Image

An OC I did a while ago, I drew her with as a psychology student in mind. I was trying out a spriting method, but it didn't turn out very well... May redo this depending on my mood :gant:

I think the Lynne sprite always goes "Ooooh, Shiro-senpai, please revamp me, please <3" or something like that. Ah, the memories of Lynne x Shiro will never be forgotten. :redd:

To be honest, I think you need to work on your OC a little bit more. No, I'm not saying it looks bad, but rather, it needs a little more work. Other than that... good going? The Lynne sprite looks a little short this time.

Hey Ace! Long time no see! Hahahaha! I don't have a crush on Lynne or anything :beef: It all started from you actually.
You're right :beef: That's why it looks so weird this whole time, guess I shouldn't have based it off Maya :payne:
I made her bigger now :redd:

Yeah... the method i used for the OC didn't work so well. I will redo it soon i guess.

Awesome to see you're back to spriting!
Lynne looks really nice! You got the body shape down nicely! Just the head might need to be a little wider and the eyes a bit smaller.
Your OC looks great! You did the hair really well! I just think it needs a bit more anti-aliasing around the lines on her top.
