Just spend more time making the details a little smoother.
For Ivan, his arm kinda changes shape and shading, same with the hair being all black. Most AA characters have about 2-4 colours for hair, and some defining highlighting and strokes.
(Sorry if this is critical, but you wanted help fleshing these out, so I will comply!)

I'm only really asking because I can't tell what all your critiques are about. They're more like baseless complaints because it's unclear what they're based off of, if that makes sense. And if you do have a thing you're basing your comparisons off of then it's possible to try and copy it onto your own thing.
You'll have more success if you try it yourself, post it, and ask for feedback. If that's a hint that someone should help you, don't expect that to happen any time soon. Because it'll only happen as soon as the game in my sig is "coming soon". In 2016, maybe... XD

But I was lucky that the sprites have been done. Well, minorly. I only need the Hair anti-aliased a bit. Also, I know even though I can animate sprites, I can't animate now because I've been too stressed out now. So, I now need to wait for the animation and sometimes later, I'll upload the sprites on this thread. Not to mention, a few information about Prosecutor V. as well.

I think the contrast is a bit high and the colours are too saturated. There are some red spots on the hair by the way. But the purple-red is nice.
Please remember to credit if you are going to edit a sprite made by someone else. (I'm assuming you asked for permission)

I have basically used 'Thena's Eyeballs, but you'd probably guessed it by now. And by the way, unless I outlined it, I found it very odd and weird. Also, thanks! I just got quite interested in making a DA Sprite out of her.

With problems... it depends on if the artist is the kind of person who lets others edit their stuff. I know DragonTrainer is happy for their sprites to be used in games but that's different from editing and I don't know what they think about that. It's also a polite thing since they're doing it for free. Edits are different from using things directly since it did make things easier for you. Plus if the artist doesn't want any edits then it's easy to piss them off and they could take everything down or stop people from using their things totally... not saying that it's the case here, but it's possible.
Politeness is a lot though since that's why people can make things and say they can't be used and expect people not to use them.
I don't know why this is ignored (especially since Miju offered to take time drawing an example) because it's literally the same as me saying there's red in the hair
No clue why you started talking about Athena's eyeballs because the outline of the eyes are clearly blue.
