I wanna go to Anime Expo this year, my friends and I want to do AA. I would like to do Ema Skye fro AAI. But I don't want to spend a lot of money and don't know how to make the buttons or buy the sunglasses. Any suggestions?
p.s. I really wanna do this as my first cosplay.

I remember hearing this from someone, it was really smart and the results were great. ^3^ Buy some reading glasses at a dollar store and paint the frame white and glaze the lens with pink glass paint. I think you could get the paints at Micheal's or some other craft store, it's most likely they'll have it there. :)

Well first of all, you should understand that cosplaying is a very expensive hobby. You'll have to spend a lot of money. I mean, I don't think anyone wants to spend a lot of money. But you do, and that's the truth. But buying clothes from thrift stores or second hand stores can save you some money. If you can't find something, you'll have to make, which isn't very expensive if you buy the fabric when it's on sale.

I know it's expensive, but I do want to spend as little as possible. But I'm trying my best

The buttons should be bought pretty inexpensively online. If you plan to sell them/want to cosplay quite a few people with buttons, you could invest in a button maker.

Here are some buttons for sale (you have to double-check that it's the proper size though!)
You can probably make your own buttons through here.

Good luck with your cosplay! As said above, you can buy glass paint, which will be a temporary solution but it should be good enough for your cosplay. Just look around for clear/light-colored sunglasses in clearance sections and discount stores and then paint to your heart's desire!

I think you could get a lab coat the same place you could get scrubs.

I think she means surgical gowns (also known as scrubs).

Look at medial supply companies, or ebay. I would think they are pretty easily available online...

I'm working on a Derek Stiles cosplay, so I'm looking for a lab coat too. x3 Amazon has a lot, just search "lab coat" and you'll get a bunch. The prices vary, but they have some pretty inexpensive ones.
