Post subject:  Re: The "Who Should I Cosplay?" Thread

For those that don't want to view my pics here's a somewhat detailed description of me.
Spoiler: long decription
I have long (almost to my elbow), brown hair that has a smooth gradient from dark at the roots to an almost dark honey at the tips (still left over from that hair dye disaster that I had in the 8th grade) with subtle, light streaks in the front (hair dye that went correctly), bangs that go down to my nose (I'm growing them out);
a round-ish face, a nice nose that doesn't stand out or look any bit skinny, light grey/teal eyes with a hazel inner ring, black, plastic, kinda shiny glasses that add an air of professionalism;
little-to-no zits, eyebrows that make a smooth transition from light to kinda medium thickness from the middle and then kinda hockey-stick to a soft but pointy end, ears once pierced when I was little but I don't plan on them ever getting pierced ever again, slightly pointed ear tips from the time that I butterfly-clipped them for a Link cosplay (note to everyone, DON'T DO THIS! It HURTS!);
horrible teeth (I always smile with my mouth closed for this reason), and kinda-rosy cheeks. I don't use make up unless it's a really special occasion (which doesn't happen very often).
My body shape is not skinny (a tad chubby) but not fat. I'm somewhat short (but not that short, I blame my short mom) as I stand at 5'4" and weigh about 136 lbs. I also wear a prosthetic leg on my left side (don't worry, I can walk just fine).

Here are the pics if you have trouble visualizing:
Spoiler: pics!
Image Image

The inside pic is more recent than the outside one (taken during the summer) but the outside one is much better quality (the lighting in my room sucks too).

I'm going to go cosplaying for the first time this January. I have no idea who to be.

Here's me, rockin' a new hairdo:

Spoiler:

I'm debating either attending as an Ace Attorney character or as John (from Homestuck, for those of you familiar with it.) If I go as John I'll definitely keep the glasses on, but otherwise, I can take them off (and I usually prefer to.)

HOLY SHI-

For a second there, I thought you were my cousin!

On characters, I would think maybe...

Phoenix, if the hair spiking isn't a problem.
Edgey, if you're willing to wear wigs and such.
And maybe even that one nerdy character from AJ:AA, the case with the ~undies~ whats his name.... hmm

Damn, I forgot his name!

I'd doubt it! But it'd be hysterical if it were true.
(Actually, though, I really don't think any of my first cousins would ever play Ace Attorney. They don't know what they're missing.)

And I'm sure as heck not roleplaying as that guy with the panties fetish from AJ. Even I have standards!! If I find the appropriate headwear, though, AJ-era Hobo Wright might be a possibility. :hobohodo:

FU-- I forgot he had a panties fetish.... I'm sorry for even thinking that was a good choice.

I'm pretty sure any-era-after-childhood!Phoenix would be a good choice for you, honestly. Unless you don't like pink sweaters. (Pink Sweater of DOOM~! <3)

I love wearing pink, but I really disliked :jazzsneeze: 's personality in that case. And I'd have difficulty getting my hair spiked, because it's usually too short. Wearing a hat provides a convenient fix for that. :hobohodo:

Phoenix is such a popular character to dress as, though, that I might show up as John and show my support for Homestuck. ...I guess I still have a few months to decide.

Thanks for your help! :will:

Wow, did you take the outside pic whilst cross playing as Luke from Proffessor Layton? (Your hat and the coat your whering kinda look like it... although the hat is the wrong color so probably not... and here I go rambling whilst typing which makes me a bigger idiot than someone who just rambles.)

...Interesting.
I'm actually not terribly familiar with the Layton series. I own the first game but haven't really had the opportunity to play through much of it. I think I'd have difficulty emulating a British accent. It's not a bad idea, though. Thanks! :godot:

...Actually, that's a good point: I probably look more like :gregory: than any other member of Ace Attorney's cast.
...Unfortunately, though, the idea of cosplaying as such a relatively obscure character doesn't appeal to me. I want people at the convention to recognize who I'm supposed to be. So Gregory is, sadly, probably out of the question.
(He's definitely one of my Top Ten Ace Attorney characters based on his reputation and his clear derivation from Atticus Finch, though. I would not be the least bit surprised if Capcom's development team deliberately made Gregory resemble Harper Lee's finest attorney.)

Thanks for your help again, guys. Although the more I think of it, the more I'm convinced I'll probably go as Homestuck's John Egbert.
