1) This is my first post on this forum;
I hope this is the right folder.2) Inspired by
Phoenix Wright Schadenfreude, I decided to set PW sprites to a musical. (It was either that or Azumanga...) Going through different musicals to use, I gave up and went back to Avenue Q because it's fits the tone and humor of PW so well. And I'm willing to bet yaoi fans will get a kick out of "If You Were Gay"...
Anyway, I have put PW sprites to "What Do You Do with a B.A. in English?":
Shockwave Flash video (317 KB)
This is my first Flash project, so this was also a tutorial turnabout for me. Not much is going on: it's a pretty serene song, but it introduces the Princeton/Phoenix character. The music cuts off because it's only the first minute of a 6 minute track as it bridges into the next number.
3) Going forward, I plan to finish the rest of the track, "It Sucks to Be Me," which will introduce several other characters, before doing other tracks. In order, I have planned:
- Princeton/Phoenix
- Kate/Maya
- Brian/Larry
- Rod/Edgeworth
- Nicky/Gumshoe
- Christmas Eve/???
- Gary Coleman/Franziska
Basically, the casting decisions went as follows: while Nicky/Phoenix (a la Schadenfreude) and Rod/Edgeworth would be hilarious, I couldn't think of anyone else big enough to play Princeton. I also like how Princeton growing over the show fits Phoenix's character arc in PW1:AA.
Edgeworth & Gumshoe instead play Rod & Nicky; I'll leave you guys to mull over Rod's storyline.
Maya is cast as Kate not because I'm shipping(!); similar to Princeton, I'm not sure who else is big enough to play the role.
For that matter, ditto Brian/Larry, but at least they're both perennially unemployed goofballs.
Gary Coleman/Franziska is a nod to Schadenfreude; it's not like PW has any African-American child actors.
I'm really at a loss for who to cast for Christmas Eve. The logical choice, since Christmas Eve's purpose in the show seems to be being Japanese, is to use Morgan Fey, but I don't want to. Lotta? Maggey?
4) Constructive criticism and comments highly desired! (For those wondering, criticism is "You suck," and constructive criticism is "You suck, you should fix X, Y, and Z in the movie.") I know I haven't made use of evidence at all, and I'd like to finalize the cast before going too far forward.
