Starting 7/01/10, I've edited this thread into a multi-post archive so that I don't have to keep cluttering the boards with new topics everytime I want to share a new song with you guys. Remember to keep checking back for updates, cause I have lots of ideas floating around in my head! (:

[[ THE FEYS' THEME - TURNABOUT SISTERS BALLAD - 7/19/10 ]]

Finally, here we go! I opted to do this version instead of Maya's normal theme because while I do love how quirky and upbeat it is, I felt that the ballad is so much more emotional and relatable. I think the relationship portrayed between Maya and Mia is just beautiful and heart-warming, so I made the lyrics center around that! The fact that Mia always took such good care of Maya as a child when she needed her always struck me as incredibly sweet, so I wanted to pay a tribute to that. This song holds a special place in my heart! I hope you enjoy it -- let me know what you think! :)

Spoiler: LYRICS (no spoilers, just under a tag for length)

I remember days when you'd hold me in your arms
"Everything's okay," you'd whisper as I cried
You protected me, kept me from feeling the pain
And when I looked up, you wiped away all my tears

You held my hand till the dawn
You showed me that the world still will go on
Taught me there was so much out there to learn

Well, I've grown since then; I've gone through trials of my own
When you left I thought I'd never make it through
But I'm not alone, don't have to fear the unknown
Cause you still live on -- I feel your spirit in me

And I hope that you'll look on and be proud
Of all that I've learned, and all of the things I've done
You've made me into the woman I am today

So thanks for everything you did for me
For the love you shared
And for being there

I will not forget the wisdom you've given me
And forever you will always stay in my heart...
In my heart...
In my heart...

[[ DAHLIA'S THEME - DISTANT TRACES OF BEAUTY - 7/08/10 ]]

This next song was kind of a quickie, as it's pretty short compared to the last two, but I thought I'd share anyways. I couldn't resist working with Dahlia's theme! It's just so beautiful in that sordid way that only Dahlia's character can evoke, and it's so haunting. (Here's hoping the lyrics were able to reflect some of that!) From a technical standpoint, I know the vocals are far from perfect, but hopefully it will still be enjoyable for you to listen to! Instrumental track is from the beginning of the GS3 Special Blend Mix that Capcom released -- one of my favorite arrangements. (:

Spoiler: LYRICS (no spoilers, just under a tag for length)

Can you hear the silence in the wind?
Oh, can you hear anything at all?

I know it is wrong...
But I feel no remorse at all

A facade of pure light
I am raw...
Darkness tinges my every sigh

Come, I beckon to you
Come, I dare you to look in my eyes

There is beauty in hell
There is beauty in darkness, I swear to you...

[[ TRUCY'S THEME - CHILD OF MAGIC - 7/01/10 ]]

NEW MIC = NEW SONG! ♥

I've put lyrics to another character song, and this time the lucky victim gal was Trucy! I decided to toy around with writing her's next, because let's face it -- it is totally adorable and a nice change of pace from dealing with the sad elements of Godot's theme. (Though his will always be my favorite!) I experimented with harmonies and tried to capture some of the playfulness and energy she brings to the scene -- so let me know what you think! As always, enjoy -- hope it's a magical experience! ;)

:minuki: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lpyrKHeXe-Q :minuki:

Spoiler: LYRICS (no spoilers, just under a tag for length)

Throw your doubt away
And come fly with me
For a day believe
You live in a dream

Let magic take your breath away
Let me show you anything's possible

Breathe in, close your eyes and
You'll see what you've been missing

Make a wish and maybe you'll be lucky
Make a wish and maybe you'll -- find that you've got it all

There's so much to see, and there's so much to learn, oh there's so much waiting

Don't be afraid
Cause I'm here with you, and we're gonna go
Far away for a spell, to where magic dwells
Oh you're gonna see that I am not your typical, ordinary girl, no sir
I will change your world
It's just my speciality, I'll show you life's true melody
And soon you'll be singing just like me right to the tune of miracles

There's so much to see, and there's so much to learn, oh there's so much waiting

Nothing's what it appears to be
So don't judge anything by what you see
You've got to reach beyond what you know, and give everything a chance
There's a world of wonders waiting, it won't disappoint you, promise you you'll love it here
You'll never want to leave this place and go back to the ordinary
Just see for yourself -- honey right here, you know you've got it all
(Magic is what you need!)

Let's...go!

Have some faith
You've got to leave disbelief behind
You have to open your heart and mind
You've got to know, it's time to let go

Take my hand
Come with me
Be amazed... you'll never see this anywhere else!

[instrumental break]

Throw your doubt away
And come fly with me
For a day believe
You live in a dream

Let magic take your breath away
Let me show you anything's possible

Breathe in, close your eyes and
You'll see what you've been missing

Make a wish and maybe you'll be lucky
Make a wish and maybe you'll -- find that you've got it all here

Throw your doubt away today
Come and fly with me today
Say the magic word today

(Just take a chance for me!)
Let's soar through the sky, all the rules we'll defy
And I swear I'll dazzle you ~

[[ GODOT'S THEME - FRAGRANCE OF DARK COFFEE - 6/21/10 ]]

Hello there, lovelies! :phoenix:

Today I wanted to post my latest musical project, that being a vocal rendition of the orchestrated Fragrance of Dark Coffee theme...with original lyrics! I thought long and hard about how to capture Godot's story of bitterness and loss in an appropriate way, so hopefully I was able to channel some of that into the writing without explicitly giving away anything about his past.

The vocals -- not so hot this time around, especially quality-wise with the mixing, haha. OTL
It was kind of a rushed job and more about the lyrics, really, so I apologize in advance! I could never imagine fully doing this song justice, but I do hope you enjoy it.

:godot: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Dj9kgNNHck :godot:

Spoiler: LYRICS (no spoilers, just under a tag for length)
The fragrance is dark, bitter
I feel all the sadness of the world
In my soul as I drink down the pain
I close my eyes and hear your voice out in the distance
I see your sweet face out in the rain

Seems so real
I just want to reach out and embrace you
Only if for a while

I flee to a memory
Of your arms around me
Of your smile, your beauty, your love
Cling to me now
Murmur my name as we walk hand in hand and
Release this pain in me

Your smile gave me strength, splendor
Your voice filled my heart with warmth and joy
When I met you, you lit up my world
You changed my life, showed me the beauty living around me
Never had I known what love meant until you

But you're gone
And nothing's the same without your presence
The color has drained away

How I miss your innocence
How I long for your tenderness
How I yearn for my world to return
Oh if only I could go back and be there when you needed me
Maybe you'd be here

The bitterness burns
Oh how I yearn
Scalding... Haunting...

Oh, can you feel it burn?

Everything's so meaningless
All the world's full of emptiness
Life exists only there in my dreams

Now I stand here
Wishing you'd somehow return to my arms
But the silence brings me back

I must move ahead
Even though you're gone
Even though fate's thrown me into a world full of grey

Feedback is most certainly welcome! Let me know what you think, good or bad. (:

To be honest, not a fan of the echo. Singing wise, I think you did well. I really liked the lyrics though to the song. I believe you captured the essence very well with the lyrics, which I know was what you were aiming for.

I do gotta agree, I love the arrangement that the orchestrated CD did to this song, it's beautiful. Call me a sucker for orchestrated music, but I absolutely love it.

Again, overall great job. The mic with its echo could use a bit of work, but the singing was on par for the most part and the lyrics really seemed to have fit his character well with me.

Thank you so much!!

Haha, that echo...it is the bane of my existence! I'm saving up to get a better mic that will hopefully round the sound out without seeming too echoey. The one I've got now makes mixing the track with the accompaniment hell! :larry: Maybe next project will see a much better audio quality. (:

Again, I appreciate your feedback so much! Your comments are so helpful and a treat to read. I always look forward to them! :phoenix:

Thanks so much. I enjoy getting to see the new projects you always come out with as well as you do so well. I hope you never quit with your musical projects. I always look forward to getting to hear you sing. I know I'm no expert in vocals or anything, but I'm glad to know my comments are always appreciated.

Great song, and very well done with the lyrics.

You did a nice job singing, but yeah that echo needs to be fixed.

Keep up the awesome work!

That was great! The lyrics were certainly moving, and I love that it was mostly reflecting on Godot's loss of Mia. Agreed about the echo, but I think because of it, I could imagine this being sung in a jazz club or a late night bar or something. Only natural it sounds it because Godot's theme is complete bliss. Maybe you should send this to Capcom and let them hear it too.

Knock-out job, sweetie. I'd never heard the orchestrated version before, and I have to admit, combined with the vocals, I got chills once or twice.

Outstanding job with the lyrics. You should send them to Capcom & have them hire you to do a vocalized version of the song.

My gawd, the first time I ever looked into the audio section of this forum and I hear THIS beautiful thing. Your singing makes this song 10x better and the lyrics work PERFECTLY. They fit so well, if I hadn't heard this song before, I would've thought that it was someone resinging the original lyrics to the song. If I knew you IRL, I would immediately go out and buy you a real nice microphone so we could all hear your singing at its best. Is there any way I can get an mp3 download of this? It's just... beautiful.

All of them embraced your voice and made it a marvelous piece of fine art.

Thank you very much! And what you said about the echo -- I've kind of started thinking the same thing! I figure it does give it kind of a distant feel, which luckily seems to fit with the song. I guess it wasn't as bad as I had originally thought! :maya: Thanks again!! (And if I knew where to send it to Capcom, I totally would! It'd be so awesome if they ended up seeing it, haha. :3)

askleghoasdhg so kyuuuuuuuute *A* the upbeatness is a stark contrast to Godot's theme hmm?

I seriously don't know how you manage to write lyrics that fit so well to the music but also reflects the character's personality. You talented girl you! *squishes*

Some CC: The vocal track is louder than the music, which can be jarring at times. You seem to have a little trouble with the higher notes - but don't worry, me too, and most people probably do. But otherwise your vocal dexterity is amazing. Have you done vocal training before?

Love to hear more! <3

And thank you so much for the concrit, too! It really helps with helping me improve as I make more of these! <3
Vocal track volume comment noted -- I will definitely pay more attention to mixing next time and possibly try to go back and update it on the MP3 download later. And oh my goodness hahaha, I was so surprised at how high some of the notes in this song were, even after lowering the key some! It was definitely a struggle for me, during recording I was like "homg, please let me hit these notes," bahaha. :will:

I actually aside from my school's chorus elective have not had any formal training, but that's something I'd really like to look into in the future so that I can refine my voice -- I know I've got a lot to learn!! :phoenix:

Beautiful job on Trucy's theme. I listened to Godot's theme again & thought about it.
I think the echoing fits well with the song. Just wanted to let you know. ^_~

Great job on Trucy's theme! Even though the song is totally different from Godot's theme, it still sounded great, and that proves you can put your voice into just about anything you can. For Trucy's theme, I felt there were instances where your timing was a bit off, but other than that, nice job.

I showed a friend of mine your Godot theme and she loved the lyrics and your voice. She said you have a mermaid's voice, and that's before I told her you actually did a cover of the song from Little Mermaid, haha.

I can't wait to hear what theme you may do next. Hmm, Turnabout Sisters, maybe?

Vocal track volume comment noted -- I will definitely pay more attention to mixing next time and possibly try to go back and update it on the MP3 download later. And oh my goodness hahaha, I was so surprised at how high some of the notes in this song were, even after lowering the key some! It was definitely a struggle for me, during recording I was like "homg, please let me hit these notes," bahaha. :will:

I actually aside from my school's chorus elective have not had any formal training, but that's something I'd really like to look into in the future so that I can refine my voice -- I know I've got a lot to learn!! :phoenix:

You should be very pleased with what have achieved. C:

I think Guilty Love would do well to have lyrics applied to it if it doesn't already - since it is meant to be a song in the first place XD <3 Good luck!
Just gonna stand there and watch me burn?
But that's alright because I like the way it hurts

I really enjoyed the latest one and thought you did a great job on it. The background vocals for the harmony was a nice touch you added and I felt that they were very well implemented. Enjoyed the lyrics as well, you got a knack for making them work so well with the song. It was good to hear one of my favorite of the jazz tracks from the jazz remix CD as well. Like I've said before, you seem to continue to improve with each song you do, and this one was no exception.

I imagined some of the songs in the games with lyrics, and Godot and Trucy's themes were done brilliantly! DO MORE! :D

I am so happy to hear that!! Thank you very much. :pearly:
I've actually been replaying AJ so I've been hearing the song a lot, and of course I think it's wonderful!
I would love to work with it in the future! I'll try my hardest to do it justice (no pun intended, dohoho) if I do end up writing for it. It's so passionate and iconic! :odoroki:

Aww, thanks so much yet again!! (And thanks to your friend, too -- the mermaid thing totally made me giggle, haha! :redd: ) I appreciate your encouraging comments and the feedback on the timing. I'll make sure to monitor it more closely on my next song!

And dohoho, even I'm not sure what I'll be posting next... I've got about three or four AA songs pending, and Turnabout Sisters is indeed one of them! So if not next time, rest assured it's coming. I've already written a lot of it! :maya:

Oh gosh, I'm in the middle of replaying AJ, and I totally thought that too!! (Not to mention it is just a great song to begin with, dohoho -- one of my favorites!) Hopefully I'll be able to come up with something fitting of its awesomeness sometime in the future! :rock'n:

Godot's theme... it's so... bliss. So... touching. The music... it tells a sad tale. This music sends out a message. I feel it's pain. You voice it so well. The echo adds to it. You should show the song with your lyrics to Capcom.

Here's the address to COA(Capcom of America):

Hope it helps.

Wow, thank you so very much!! This comment really made me smile. It's so great to hear that you think I was able to convey the emotion well enough. :pearl:

Thanks for the address as well! Perhaps after I write record a few more character songs I'll see if I can put them on a CD and maybe send it to the localization team so they can enjoy it too. They might not ever even get it, but it'll be worth a shot, right? I'd really love to get the chance to show them how inspiring the music Capcom has done for Ace Attorney is for fans like us. c:

I came to say... THAT THESE ARE GREAT! On both Godot's and Trucy's themes, you added very fitting lyrics, and your voice is definitely enjoyable, though the higher notes seemed to come out a little odd, as some others have said. (Not bad, though.)

((P.s, I would definitely buy these, and I would definitely hit the imaginary love button.))

Upon reflection (and listening to the Gyakuten meets Jazz CD), I prefer it if you did Godot's theme using the jazz version here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HMnrl0tmd3k I find the jazz style fits better with the lyrics than the orchestration. The first one was excellent, don't get me wrong, but maybe you could experiment? :yuusaku: Keep up with the good work, though. Godot Approves of this thread. :godot:
