That's not entirely true! I like Max and the Lumas, they're just not on the top of my list. Also, I've never played Resident Evil, Dead Rising, Enchanted Arms, or Sonic '06...
...and if you like fruity characters, may I suggest looking for the Suikoden Series of games?

Etna from Disgaea. Come on. She's a LEATHER-CLAD DEMONESS WHO HAS EXPLODING PENGUINS FOR MINIONS. That is just awesome. And she has a ton of hilarious quotes and moments that are just pure gold throughout the game. But on top of a humor level and coolness that even bests many of the PW characters, Etna is also just so cute and sexy that I could just eat her up om nom nom.
Faust from Guilty Gear. Do I really need to explain why? Just look at him! As soon as I played Guilty Gear X for the first time, it was love at first sight!
And of course, De Killer from PW. He just oozes style. An assassin with honor... Capcom got something right on their first try that the Naruto writers have been trying and failing at for 9 years.

FFXI Cid. He a blacksmith who lives in Bastok(Bastok #1 so is CAKE! <_< yeah I have FFXI)
FFU Cid. It a FF anime. It kind of nice. It was canceled(I haven't seen all of it so I'm not sure if it has a rushed ending or no ending)
Chocobo Racing Cid. Yeah he from the Chocobo games on the PSX I think(never played them)
