Yes! To participate in this game, all you need to do is submit your predictions for each week! Predict not only what kind of updates we will see that week, but also in what order they will appear! You earn points for making accurate predictions. See below for detailed instructions on how tickets work.
Please send me your tickets via PM or email. All prediction tickets are due at 11:00PM Pacific Time on the Sunday of that week. Any tickets received after that time will be invalid and the owner ineligible to earn points for that week's predictions.
The points earned each week are added to the grand total, and the grand prize winner(s) will be announced when Super Smash Bros Brawl is released stateside, or when SmashBros.com stops giving updates. And what's the grand prize?
GRAND PRIZE: A large full color illustration, by me, featuring one character per grand prize winner locked in mortal Smash combat! (There will be one picture if there are multiple winners, but each gets one character) (Grand prize characters must follow normal Smash character conventions: they must have featured on a Nintendo console at some point!)
As you can see, a ticket consists of three predictions. Each prediction can be one of three types: Character, Item, or Miscellaneous (Music, Stage, How to Play, Game Modes). You don't need to predict which specific game or character will be represented, only what kind of update will appear! There are several possible "winning hands" with each ticket, with assigned point values.
- 1 - Pair: Two consecutive updates.
- 2 - Two Pair: Two consecutive updates, and two other consecutive updates.
- 3 - Straight: All three consecutive updates.
- 2 - Pair Flush: Two consecutive updates of the same type.
- 6 - Straight Flush: Three consecutive updates of the same type.
- 4 - Pair Flush inside Straight: Three consecutive updates, two of which were a Pair Flush.
Because the predictions need to be consecutive, it will limit the number of combinations each week. Updates are read from "bottom up" on the website in case there is a day with multiple updates.
Each ticket is only valid the week it is cast, and is only valid for one instance of a "hand." If you score for a Pair, you cannot score for that same Pair again (but you can score for a Two Pair). Straights supersede Pairs, naturally.
The reason several categories were condensed into one was to increase simplicity and to stack "rarity" of certain updates together.

So you make a new prediction ticket for each week. If we start predicting next week, there would be a total of 7 rounds of predictions and scoring.
The grand prize winners can specify as much as they like about the character, so long as it's enough to make them part of the drawing (I can't feasibly feature their entire moveset into a single scene!).

You don't have to predict whether it'll be a Pokemon item, an AT, or a specific character. Just say whether it'll be an item update, or a character update, or anything else.
You only need to make a string of three predictions, in whatever order. They are not specific to any days in the week.
That said, those who sent in tickets with a "Mon, Tue, Wed, etc" format to me will have the first three updates they listed taken as their ticket for this week.
An example prediction:
Item, Char, Misc - Means that a string of updates will show up in this order, regardless of what day in the week it appears and regardless of what the updates themselves are. (The first update could be a new item, a Pokemon, an AT, anything Item-related; the second could be a new character, or a character's new moveset or feature)
