G Gundam - I like how they took Gundam and tried to do everything differently. Martial arts Mecha with stereotypical designs and pilots. And those are all good things.
Big O - The Batman TAS feeling it had going for it drew me in, the mecha battles and Roger Smith kept me there. I still don't fully comprehend the ending however.
Gungrave - I'd say this is one of the better paced anime out there. Every episode seemed to have a purpose. My main complaint with this show is the first episode. Had I not seen what was going to happen in the future right off the bat, I
probably would have appreciated it a bit more.
Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann - I like all of the subtle layers of awesome they put into this show. I loved how things started out small and gradually got bigger and bigger and more bad ass.
Eureka Seven - This show's a rarity. The characters actually develop and the supporting characters are actually interesting. Also, Mecha.
Cowboy Bebop - Pretty Self Explanatory
Trigun - I still like this even though Gungrave pretty much does every single thing this show does except 10 times better.
Outlaw Star - I've probably seen this show 10 times. It was the first anime I owned in its entirety. The plots pretty all over the place, but the characters and setting make up for it in the long run. I just have to many memories with this show to not love it.
Dragonball - The ultimate Shonen random beating the hell out of things series. I like it for this.

I chose .hack//SIGN as my number 1 because it's one of the most beautiful seires I've ever seen. The music is gorgeous and the story is slow-paced but once you actually meet the characters, they become hard to forget. I fell in love with the series, and I love series that make you want to research them to understand. I remember looking through the net and playing through all 4 .hack// games just to fit all the pieces into the puzzle. There's hardly no action in it...that's what people don't like about it. It's just people sitting around and talking most of the time, but that's also why I love it. It makes you listen and pay extra close attention to the story and what the characters have to say.
People say it's boring but I say it's probably the best anime that I've ever seen.
