Investigation
Case Name: Sands of Time

Professor Robert Randall, the expert in modern Egyptian studies, has just opened a new exhibit featuring the history of the Tarakuna Clan, one of Egypt’s ancient royal bloodlines. It is August 20th, 2009. The exhibit was made possible by several groups, all attending the opening night. The current head of the Tarakuna clan, Princess Serena, The professor’s assistant, Michael Web, The Head of Egyptian affairs, Kilik Tutanbu, and Jessica Shively, owner of the Beacon Museum all sit around Professor Robert Randall as he begins his opening speech.

“Welcome, everyone to the opening night of Tarakuna: A Legend Still Lives. As most of you know, the head of the Tarakuna clan is with us tonight, Ms. Serena Tarakuna.”

Robert Randall holds his hand over to introduce Ms. Tarakuna, who stands up, and takes a bow. The spotlight once again hits Professor Randall.

“This exhibit is the embodiment of my life’s work, finding the oldest living ancestor of the great Egyptian royal families. The history this family contains goes back all the way to the very first discoveries made by countless professors before me. Tonight will be a night you could just die for ladies and gentlemen.”

“We feature many of the families jewelry, books, ornaments, and spiritual objects that were once lost. Many of these items are said to be cursed, and should have never been opened. I disagree; the world has the right to know about the lineage and history of the Tarakuna clan.”

Suddenly, a bolt of lightning flashes through the sky, striking a power line and shutting all the lights off. Two gunshots are heard and everyone screams and begins to panic. As the lights come back on, Professor Randall is lying on the ground, along with Serena Tarakuna. Everyone is in a frenzied panic until the police arrive on the scene.

Professor Randall dies from a gunshot wound to the head, while Serena Tarakuna only has a minor shoulder wound.
As evidence is collected, Serena Tarakuna is taken into custody. Her fingerprints were found on the pistol in Professor Randall’s room.

Julius walked into Sagesse and Co. Law Offices carring two bags of groceries. He walked into the small kitchen like area and began to unload. Just then the phone began to ring. "Hello?" "Juls! It's Odyssues! Did you see it, what happened?" "What happend? What are you talking about?" "At the museum! Didn't you go last night? I just heard about the murder!" "Murder?!" "Yeah... weren't you going to the museum? You said you were gonna' take some pictures of the Egyptologie exibit since I was out of town." "Sorry... I guess it just slipped my mind. Do you know what happend?" Odyssues told Julius the details of the crime. "This is kinda fishy Odis... what do you think?" "If it was any fishier it would be attracin' cats." Julius slapped his hand to his forehead. "I'll go see if I cann find something out. When are you coming back?" "Not for atleast four days my sister's gettin' cold feet." "Alright bye." Julius hung up the phone and grabbed his shoulder bag (it did look very professional but he proferred it to a briefcase), and was out the door he waved down a taxi and told him to go to the Detention Center.

Joshua sighed as he opened the file left in his inbox "Huh...a museum murder...." he said skimming the details over briefly "God Museums are boring but this oughtta make it a good deal more interesting" he said grinning happily while he twiddled the pen over in his fingers. After contemplating it for a moment he threw the pen into a dartboard on the back of the door where it joined various other colourful pens before snatching up his phone and hammering in a number letting it ring a few times before leaving a message "Hey Schneider get your ass in gear we've got a criminal to dish out mighty justice on!" he said down the phone "Meet me at the Beacon museum or I'll start without ya!" he said slamming the phone down on the receiver before scooping the file up and giving it one last look "Huh.....the suspect is injured....that doesn't make sense...but her prints are on the gun" he mused to himself before putting on his coat and satchel dropping the file neatly into it "Alright well might find out more than that, that's all up to the sorry sod I'm up against." he said before heading out to the museum.

The taxi stopped in front of the Detention Center. Is it just me or has the cab fare gone up? I should probably just get my own car. Juluis quickly payed the impaticent driver and was off. He told the least threating looking guard. "I'm here to see Miss Serena Tarakuna." The guard looked at him then began to take him to the visiting room.

Jenny kicked off her shoes and crossed her feet on top of her substandard plastic-and-steel desk- the kind that was issued to pretty much every detective on the force. One day, I'm gonna have an office of my own.... she thought, ripping the top off a packet of gum and flicking a piece into her mouth.
"Illusion! What the hell do you think you're doing?! You've got a case to work on!" foghorned a voice in her ear
"W-what?" Jenny spluttered, swinging her legs off the desk and back into her very un-detectivelike shoes. She looked up to see all six foot seven of Chief Detective Lennox towering over her, looking very pissed off indeed. I know he's my boss but does he always have to yell so much? Is it a prerequisite for Chief Detectives or something?
"Beacon Museum. You. Now. Crime scene. Investigate. That concise enough for you, Illusion?"
"Yes, sir!" she replied, re-clipping her police badge into her chignon and slinging her oversized tote bag over her shoulder.
"Get going, rookie! Prosecutor Starr is already down there! Prove that you're more than some kid who got here on a fluke." he hissed.
I think I've proved that in the last five cases, actually... Anything to get a pay rise, I guess. Right, Beacon Museum...Which way's that again?... she wondered, heading out the door.

Kai was deeply sleeping. He was dreaming with an amazing girl... until he sundenly wakes up with an extremely annoying phone ring. Usually, the phone was not annoying, but considering the circunstances, Kai wished he lived at stone age. He was feeling crap, but it was expected for him to be that way, since the last mounths working like... he coundn't finish the setence, which made him feel crapier. Two mounrhs before, he locked himself in his room to study for the test that would admit him to the University. Then he was admited. But entering wasn't the end of his "jouney": he had to find a part time job; both for money, and to have some experience (as an aide) in court. Guess what was his job?
He got up, willing he hadn't to. When he just got close to the phone, it stopped ringing. He was about to literaly attack to phone out of anger when a message began. It was prosecutor Starr, his new tutor: "Hey Schneider get your ass in gear we've got a criminal to dish out mighty justice on!"
" 'Get your ass in gear'? I don't know why, I don't like this expression." He though to him-self, still mournig-grumpy. "Meet me at the Beacon museum or I'll start without ya!" he heard him slamming the phone.
" What? Are you teaching me history?... Oh...yeah... the crime, the crime..." Kai was still sleepy. "Yeah... the crime. What about crime?... Oh yeah. Me go. Me says methinks. Then I pass the course. Then I get a badge. Then I prosecute a huge criminal leader. Then one of his men murders me. ... Hm... I guess I'm going back to bed..." Kai was staring at the phone in a scary way as he thought. "Oh, it will be no good. I could dream with mr. Starr getting my 'ass in gear'. Or worse, he could do it in real life if I was late. And I want to meet him. He seems to be quite copetent... Let's see if I can get some of his guts by osmose".
He looked at the clock: "I'd better get going". He took three jumps to wake up. And worked. His heart began to pump harder, he geted exited. "Ok! Time to NOT get my ass in gear!" He said loudly, glad no one would hear him.
He moved towards the door. He walked to the bus stop.
When he was about to arrive at it, the bus pass.
"Oh, no way I'm losing that bus!" He ran after it. Knowing the bus driver wouldn't stop for him even if he managed to arrive to the door, he jumped at the back, and grabed the exausth can. Thankfully, this bus were quite old, and had a little step were he could place his foot and get stability.
So, hang in the exausth can, and standing in a step, he thouth to himself: "Well... at least I won't pay for the bus!"
He get quite glad because the bus had no back window and no one inside could see him on that ridiculous situation.
When he looks at the car behind the bus, he notices a woman is staring at him. And when he looks at the woman, he realizes she is an old crush of his.
Having nothing else to do, he raises his right hand as a sign of "hello". She responds to it, but doesn't stop staring.
"Well... what is life without some stories?" He thought to himself.
And so the bus headed to the museum...

Julius saw Serena Tarakuna at the small window. He explained that he was a lawyer and that he would like to defend her. This took a while because of his lack of lawyer presence. Also his lack of nice close. He was wearing a long sleeve shirt and a pair of jeans because he hadn't had time to change after Odysseus called. He showed her his badge and explained that if she was innocent he was sure he could get her off. He said this with his best impression of a confadent lawyer. After she had accepted he decided he should investigate before further questioning. He told he would soon be back and pushed up his glasses. Alright, I've only got about five dollars left so if I want lunch I'll have to hike. And hike he did. He arived at the museum and realived why he liked haveind Odysseus around so much. The museum was swarming with the police. Odysseus had been a detective for three years before being layed off and start working with Juluis (while doing some PI work on his own.) Since he had been on the force the other detectives would usally let them on the crime scene kind of like a favor for Odysseus. Juluis prayed he'd be able to get on.

The Beacon Museum was, to put it simply, packed. There seemed to be about a police officer for every square inch of floor space, nearly all of whom were at least four or five inches taller than Jenny. An intern she recognised from the precinct rushed up to her and thrust a thick file of papers into her hands.
"Detective Illusion! We've been waiting for you!"
"For me? Why?" Jenny asked, puzzled.
The intern looked at her suspiciously.
"Didn't the Chief tell you? You're in charge of the investigation. Everyone here's just waiting for you to tell them what to do!" I'M in charge? Whoa, that was..unexpected...
She surveyed the room and her eyes finally came to rest upon a young man in casual dress, looking very confused. By the badge in his lapel, I'd say he's the defense attorney... Well, it can't hurt to go find out. Making her mind up, Jenny walked over and tapped the guy on the shoulder.
"Excuse me, sir, do you need any help?"

Joshua sighed as he skidded round the corner arriving at the museum before rushing to the outside of the museum where Detective Illusion stood next to a bewildered-looking young man. Running up to them he beamed "Morning young Detective and umm you" he said giving the young man a playful punch on the arm "Anyway sir I'm afraid this here is our crime scene so you're gonna have to mosey to the max in THAT direction" he said throwing an arm out indicating the door he just entered through "Or else I'm gonna have to get some officers to escort you from the premises and I don't particularly want to do that" he shrugged before turning to the Detective "Hey Detective...Illusion is it? I hear your in charge of this investigation you psyched to go find some golden nuggets of justice!" he said excitedly.

Julius looked startled at the two people next to him. "Wait I'm a defense attorney." He said hurridly. "Speifically Miss Tarakuna defense attorney. My name is Julius Pince. I'm here to investigate." I hope they believe me, I mean I am wearing my badge. "Maybe you've heard of my boss Gregory Sagesse." Just saying the name made him fell a bit stronger. It's been almost a year since he left... he hasn't even called me since he's been in Canada... I wonder if is a lawyer anymore. Julius sighed almost to himself.

Joshua spun around extending a long arm to gently prod the badge on Julius's lapel "Sagesse? Yeah he's quite a legend I hear but if your Miss Tarakuna's attorney your gonna need to show the right paperwork, letters of request and all that sorta stuff!" he grinned "Otherwise I'm still perfectly entitled to boot you off this crime scene tell em Detective!" he said eagerly.

The bus arrived at the museum. It stoped at the bus stop, and Kai jumped down. He was glad. He was glad because he were in suit. "Yeah, baby. I'm like Dom Corleone now." He was enjoying himself so much that he was smiling, his eyes shining. He seemed like a kid in the christmas evening. "Maybe a new necktie would be good, another one besides this red one." He was heading toward the museum entrence. "Umm...no. It would cost me money. Nah... a new necktie can come later". He was so deeply in his thougths, he didn't notice some high school boys staring at him. After all, it is not always you see someone hunging behind a bus in suit and smiling to himself with no aparent reason.
"Maybe I should go find Mr. Starr. Nah... he might want to put my ass in gears. But what if I don't go find him?" He continued walking toward the entrance. "Yeah... I'd better go find him. After all I didn't hang at the bus for nothing!". The Kai arrived at the museum entrance. He saw a lot of people there. "Wow... how oddly this many turists at the museum after a murder occured here. Oh. They are not turists, they are police officers. Heh, I'm smart. No one else would discouver that without asking first." And so he headed inside...

Julius could tell new this guy meant buisness. "Paper work umm..." Julius rooted through his shoulder bag trying to find the document. Maybe I should get a briefcase. He opened up his laptop. "Ah!" He had put the paper there so he would remember (ironic ain't it.) "I made Miss Tarakuna sign this when I visited her." He said nervously as he held up the document with a shaky hand. "It's a document stating that I'm am going to defend her for this case." He felt a bit more confident. He pushed up his glasses and they glinted in the sunlight."Ergo, I should be able to investigate this crime scene... right?" He said as confidence drained from him.

Joshua snatched the defence request from Julius and tossed it to Detective Illusion "Who knows?" he replied to Julius "It's the Police's job to keep troublemakers off scene." he said eyeing the young intern entering just now Don't know why they bother introducing prosecution aides.....I guess they gotta learn somewhere "HEY SCHNEIDER! GET OVER HERE ALREADY YOUR LATE!" he barked across the hall "Poor boy he'll need to be punctual if he wants to earn one of these" he said flashing his well-polished prosecution badge at Julius "But anyway Joshua Starr pleasure to meet you" he said extending a friendly hand to the defence attorney "Lets hope you do your job properly if your allowed to investigate here, after all you wouldn't want any truth to go unrevealed would you?" he asked.

Jenny folded her arms and gave Prosecutor Starr one of her most severe frowns, which unfortunately was still closer to a smile than anything else.
"Go easy on the kid! He doesn't look like he's been on many crime scenes before."
She looked over the defense request.
"Seems genuine enough. Okay, Mr...Pince was it?...you're good to go! But there is one thing. If I catch you swiping anything without notifying me, I'm gonna kick your ass into next week." she smiled sweetly. I know I'm going a bit over the top, but this is my big chance to actually be taken seriously in the force...

Julius shook Joshua's hand. The bright flash of the prosecuter's badge made him glance down at his own badge. "I'm Julius... oh wait. I already said that didn't I." Julius felt a bit embarrassed. Like my second trial. Julius looked at the detective when he heard her comments. "Um actually I've been to several crime scene... about twenty altogether including the ones I went on before I became a lawyer..." He began to nevously rub the strap of his shoulder bag. He felt as though he was being talked down to. I haven't screwed up that bad yet... well nothing that I haven't fixed. A small melody began to play. Ah! My phone. I really should have changed my ringtone from the Pink Princess theme. Julius turned away from the group. "Yes...?" "Hey Jules! Odis here! Have you solved they case yet." "You better be joking." "Relax! But serously hows it goin'?" "I've had next to no progress... maybe I could do some work if I didn't keep getting called..." "Alright I get the hint! Hey, do you have my camera." "I think you left it at the house." "You should of brought it to the scene!" "You're the only person that it works with... atleast it doesn't work with me..." Julius looked at the museum. "I have to go." *click*

Am I late? ...Dude, the way Mr. Starr yells really make me take him serrious when he talks about 'ass in gears'. Well guess I'd better get close.

"Lets hope you do your job properly if your allowed to investigate here, after all you wouldn't want any truth to go unrevealed would you?" Mr. Starr said.

"No sir. I really am in the mood for honest hard work, sir." Although I'm not in the mood for 'ass in gears'. Dude, I should forget about that. I'll end up talking about it, and that would be embarassing.

"By the way, what is our plan of action? We shouldn't be telling this the defense party, but I haven't received the report about this case yet sir. But I did some brainstorm with myself while I was hanging behind the bus," Oops, shouldn't have said that. Hope he didn't notice. "and I concluded the murder might have happened here, right?" Kai said, sastisfied for his own smartness and being sure that he had made a good impression.

"So, how may I be useful to you, Sir?"

Joshua sighed "Ughh Schneider I told you that much this morning!" he said dismayed by the young man's hasty deductions "But sure your not wrong this is where the murder happened....over there I'm willing to bet" he said indicating a temporary stage on the other side of the hall used for the announcement last night." he said turning to the detective seeing her attempt to glare at him "Are you smiling at me?" he giggled quietly "Relax I'm just giving the guy a little one two punch before the big knockout tomorrow but are you allowed that camera on-site?" he said turning serious hearing the conversation "You could take photo's that weren't approved by the courts or what not, you know falsifying evidence is the downfall of an attorney" he warned before smiling "But I'm sure your aware of that anyway, I hope you've got some witnesses for me to have a quick word with you know? The evidence seems pretty conclusive but just in case one of them decides to pull something funny tomorrow it's best to meet them first" he asked the detective glancing at Julius.

"Ughh Schneider I told you that much this morning!" Mr. Starr said.

"Yes sir. That is why I deduced that." Why is he angry? ...Oh. I see. That woman, eh? Kai looked at the small woman with them I wonder if he was flerting her? Well, I'd better get an excuse to leave them alone... But how unprofessional! Flerting at work!

"Well sir, I'll see if I can track down the detective responsible for this case to take a report. And maybe even the defense attorney, to check if he is a competent opponent." Good luck with her, Sir! "With your leave..."

Joshua clapped a hand to Schneider's shoulder with his other hand he snatched off the prosecutor's badge "You see this Schneider? This is what it means to be a prosecutor. A prosecutor is all about sitting back and making the the right judgements at the right time." he said pinning it back on his jacket. "You. Think. Too. Hastily." he said poking Schneider's forehead with each word "I've already located the Defence Attorney and Detective, meet Detective Illusion" he said gesturing to her before whispering "Cool name eh?" to Schneider "And Attorney....umm Pince! Yeah thats the name, introduce yourself then we'll see about witnesses." he said.

Julius looked from Starr to Schneider. "What falsifying evidence!? I would never do that!" Julius was throughly shocked. "My friend just likes to take pictures of everything." (This was a half truth, while Odysseus took pictures of everything at a crime scene was for a different reason.) He then turned toward Schneider revealing his attorney badge looking at him down troden look. "My na-name is Julius Pince." He said to Schneider.

"All the same, Mr Pince..." Jenny began. "I'm afraid you won't be able to photograph the crime scene. That's a detective's job!" she continued, rooting around in her frankly ridiculously sized bag for her camera- finally emerging with one nail broken and several scratches on her hand but nonetheless clutching a small fluorescent pink digital camera.
"As for witnesses, we have...three, I believe." she said, turning to the prosecutor and giving him a genuine smile this time. "They're currently in questioning, but I could take you to see them if you like?"

"That sounds like a wonderful idea Miss Illusion!" he said clapping his hands together "Who do we have an um..." he noted the damage to her hands as they emerged from her bag "Miss Illusion is there something....dangerous in that bag of yours?" he asked kneeling down to squint at the bag poking it suspiciously before getting up and turning to Schneider "Rule 2 be perceptive! After the police force and Detectives, it's our job to piece together the evidence and formulate theories so you gotta get as much info as possible!" he reminded Schneider.

She rolled her eyes. "Please, it's Jenny. And the hands are nothing- I just have some evidence from my last trial still lurking round in there, which you could...probably class as dangerous actually..." Jenny flipped open the file she'd been handed earlier and looked down the list of witnesses.
"We have three- Jessica Shively, owner of the museum; Michael Webb, the victim's assistant and Kilik Tutanbu, Head of Egyptian Affairs." she said.
She fished out a sheaf of photocopies and handed them to Kai Schneider.
"That's the background information for this case. As a member of the prosecution, naturally you have full clearance of the crime scene. Oh, and you and Mr Pince might both want a copy of the autopsy report." she finished, handing over two brown envelopes to each.

I have anouther word for hasty... fast, efficient. It is all about how you look at it. Someone can be arrogant... or self-cofident.

And yeah, I'd say Mr. Starr were hasty too (in my vocabulary: fast) finding those two. Boy, I barely arrived here and there he is! Good boy, professor! You did well! (By the way, when will he tell those words to me? Except for the part of "professor", I doubt I'll be his one day. Well...daydreaming is not that bad, is it?)

"My na-name is Julius Pince." Julius said.

"Pleased to meet you, Mr. Pince. I sure hope you're not like Kevin Lomax*" He was too competent.

The detective turned to the prosecutor and giving him a genuine smile this time. "They're currently in questioning, but I could take you to see them if you like?" Dude, she is the one flerting! Mr. Julius, let us take a walk...

"Rule 2 be perceptive! After the police force and Detectives, it's our job to piece together the evidence and formulate theories so you gotta get as much info as possible!" Mr.Starr said.

"Yes sir" Kai answered. "Understood" Which was rule one again?

"All the same, Mr Pince..." Ms. Illusion began began. "I'm afraid you won't be able to photograph the crime scene. That's a detective's job!"
"That's the background information for this case. As a member of the prosecution, naturally you have full clearance of the crime scene. Oh, and you and Mr Pince might both want a copy of the autopsy report." The detective said. Sucks to be you, Kevin*... crime doesn't pay, eh? Kai couldn't hide his sastisfaction. He was really glad he would be in a criminal scene without being the victimin or the murderer.

"Sir, before you leave... What do you want me to do?" Kai said. Except for "putting ass in gears", I'm up to anything!

((Just a side note: since the itallian letter wasn't seeming to be effective to show it was Kai's thoughts, I "painted it" blue.))

Julius took the report with a nod. "Thank you. Uselly I don't get these till the trial starts." *You got Autopsy Report. Put Autopsy Report in shoulder bag.* "Would you mind if I looked around the museum Miss... Illusion?" Julius asked. I should probably talk to the witnesses after Schneider does. Julius began to nervously rub his shoulder bags strap. He wasn't sure why, but he knew the start of a hard case was just ahead.

Joshua glanced back at Kai surprised "What's this? You trying to escape and slack off? You should come with me and give these witnesses the once over, we may find vital testimony to put the killer away for sure not that we need it" he smirked glancing at Julius and adding "Your defendants fingerprints were found on the murder weapon after all" before turning back to Kai "But I suppose if you don't want to come you could do what this guy is gonna do and investigate the crime scene, but don't let him sway you with his talk of 'innocence' and 'possibilities'. Your looking for more proof of guilt got it!" he said clapping a hand to his shoulder "I'm counting on you" he said before spinning around to face Detective Illusion "Alright then Jenny, lead the way lets start with Mr Webb I'm sure he's got something interesting to tell me though" he paused for a second "Are you sure you should be carrying dangerous evidence around from previous cases?" he asked uncertainly.

"What's this? You trying to escape and slack off?" Mr. Starr said. No Sir! I'm here to work the hardest I can! You misundertood, forgive me sir! Why aren't you talking to me sir? Oh. Yeah... didn't said that loud, did I? By the way... where in my speech did he find a clue about slacking of? I'd better improve my comunicative skills: If I tried to convince him that I'm willing to work and he interpreted that I was slacking off, I shouldn't try to convince the jury that the murder is guilty! ...That's it! I'm going to be a defense attorney! Oh. That won't work. I'd agree with the procecutor when he says my client is guilty. Altough I'm a little naive, and that drives me to believe the defendants words, I can't discuss against evidence. Being a proscecutor, it is not a problem to admit someone is innocent when evidence comes against you... right? I wonder what Mr. Starr thinks about that... and how that brings him suscess or failure, and if that brings justice to the court. For good sake, I'd be such a burrocrat if I were a politician! (Note to self: Congrats! Now you really don't involve religion in your setences! When you arrive home, eat a cake!) .....Why am I congratulating myself?

"You should come with me and give these witnesses the once over, we may find vital testimony to put the killer away for sure not that we need it" he continued.

"Yes sir" Kai said. But he didn't seem to listen, since he turned to Julius."Your defendants fingerprints were found on the murder weapon after all" His defendant and our suspect. It is ok that the fingerprints were found in the murder weapon, but come on, who'd shot itself? Of course it wasn't to make she look clear... But if wasn't she, who'd it be? Maybe the REAL killer, but that's a paradox, since SHE is the real killer! So... it could be a security guard who carelessly shot in the dark after the first shot, and hit her. Not so carelessly, since she shot the professor.

Other thing that seems to fish about this report... Why was she taken in custody if she was wounded (by a shot - even in the shoulder, that must hurt!)? And worse... why haven't Mr. Pince objected about that? After all, as a defense lawyer, it is his duty not only to prove her innocence, as well to defend her from any kind of unjustice... maybe he wanted to be proscecutor but didn't pass law school? Wait, it isn't that, since he PASSED to be able to be an attorney.

Maybe we should do a balist test to averigui if the bullet was shot from the same gun. That would give us some answers.

Has Mr. Starr already thought about that? I can't talk to him now, after all, the defense lawyer is here, and even I, myself, know that he will be our opponent tomorrow and we shouldn't give him our weapons.

"But I suppose if you don't want to come you could do what this guy is gonna do and investigate the crime scene, but don't let him sway you with his talk of 'innocence' and 'possibilities'. Your looking for more proof of guilt got it!" Mr Starr said. What does he wants me to do in reality? I guess he wants to confuse Mr. Pince, but I'm getting confused!

"Um... Yes Sir!!" Kai said. Turning to Jullius "I shall help you with your investigation, Mr. Lomax." But in exchange... You'll give me your soul! Bwahahah! (What a funny joke, too bad I'm to serius to tell him) "Are you a man full of vanity, Mr. Pince? Oh, never mind".Shit! That wasn't a joke that one!

"I'm counting on you" said Mr. Starr Oh, God. Hope Julius don't persuate me! All he have to do to do that is be rational! Although, that is hard... in his position. An emo thing would be better with the defendant being a princess and all... but I don't like emo things. I'm more rational... altough, sometimes 'rationality' comes slowly... but it comes!

"Sir! One last question! Should I sabotage the defence lawyer investigation?" Kai said that a little loud. "Better not, eh? It is a bad idea. It is not ethical" Kai said, innocently, without noticing how loud he said that. "No way Sir! Ethics, right? We need that to live in a society!" Why am I feeling I'm going to get punched soon? "Uh...whatever it is, I'm sorry if I've failed you sir..." Kai felt he did something wrong, he just wasn't sure about why. Maybe I should run before I die... But he just stayed there, with a clean naive face. Or a poker face, in his vocabulary.

"Um... sabotage?" Doesn't he work for the same guy that just acussed me of attempt of falsifying evidence? Julius turned away from the cluster of people, removing his glasses. He pressed his hand to his face. God, why do the odds always turn against me... when I don't even have a friend to help. "Sigh... Why me?" He said softly to himself as he took a small rag out of his shoulder bag to clean his glasses. He put his glasses back on. I guess I can see better now, I'm gonna need everything I can find for this case.

Joshua sighed "Your losing the meaning of what it is to be a prosecutor Schneider, listen!" he said jabbing Schneider in the chest with his finger "You've done some basic crime scene investigation before, you know what it means, you also know that tampering with evidence is a crime, a worse one if you are a prosecutor so don't even SUGGEST sabotage." he groaned "And also don't work with him! You can investigate separately geez" he sighed ruffling his own hair in exasperation "Now listen as a prosecutor's aide your expected one day to become a fully fledged prosecutor at the end of your internship so I expect a little competence and deductive talent from you, show me what you can do for now I'll join you later once I'm done wth some witnesses ok?" he said patting Schneider on the shoulder before turning back to the detective.

I kinda feel sorry for poor ol' Mr Pince Jenny thought. With those two on his case, he looks like he could use a bit of assistance.
"I might regret this later, but for now, I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt, Mr Pince, and give you the same level of clearance on the crime scene as the prosecution. Just tell 'em Detective Illusion sent you and they'll let you take a look round." she said.
Michael Webb's in questioning in one of the museum offices. Guess they didn't want him to leave the scene of the crime. But anyhow, we should probably go talk to him- he was the witness closest to the victim. She looked over the map of the museum with a puzzled expression (navigation never had been one of Jenny's skills) and ascertained, at length, that the room in question was just to her left.
"So...he's just in there. Oh, and Prosecutor Starr...." she trailed off. "You wouldn't by any chance have a Tupperware box or something, would you? I'll get another pay cut if any of the stuff in my bag gets broken before evidence transferal next month..."

((By the way, RichardZZK, I noticed that in some of your posts, you seem to be RP-ing Pierre's character which, according to the forum rules, isn't allowed. I don't mean to sound as though I'm having a go at you- I just don't want you to get in trouble :edgy: ))

((I don't understand...who is Pierre? Is it another forum member? From which RP is he from? What rule exactly am I breaking? Whatever it is, I'll try to get in line... but right now I have no Idea of what you are talking about. For what it seems to me, this Pierre guy is just another forum guy right? I'd just guess his character is naive as well. Am I wrong? Did I misunderstood you? But I'd say it is a normal coincidence two (or even more) naive characters. It is a normal characterist, right? And I bet thre name is diferent too. After all Kai Schneider is not a common name. Oh, by the way, I'm not angry. I'm just trying to get some information to get back in line.))

"Your losing the meaning of what it is to be a prosecutor Schneider, listen!" he said jabbing Schneider in the chest with his finger "You've done some basic crime scene investigation before, you know what it means, you also know that tampering with evidence is a crime, a worse one if you are a prosecutor so don't even SUGGEST sabotage." Joshua groaned That's exactly why I told you it was a bad idea Sir! "Sir...I'm aware...that's why I told you it was not ethical...maybe I said not loud enough?" Kai was really embarassed, even his suit wasn't holding his shoulders wide open What is happening here? Why do they get the image that I'm deceit and lazy? Maybe is the necktie? Maybe because I didn't pay the bus? No...no way. No one cares on how I'm dressing, and no one knows about the bus-hanging stuff.

"And also don't work with him! You can investigate separately geez" Mr. Starr went on Grandma always told me that team work works better... didn't his? After all, we sharing evidence would... oh. Reveal our secrets. But is that bad? There should be no secrets in justice! Well, I'd guess our justice system is not perfect yet. After all, it is made of humans, and we're not perfect as well. And having no secrets would destroy our base against the defense party... Ah, I am going to find a better system! Find no, because it isn't out there waiting for me! I am going to make! But first I have to have all the knowledge about this system... and then bring it down, with a better one! Thanks God no one can read my thoughts. They'd believe I'm a communist.

"Yes Sir! If there is any evidence here about the case I am going to find it!" Oh...of course there is evidence arround here... after all it is a murder scene... Dude, why am I just getting things worse for me?

"With your leave..."

((.....Urgh.....*points to name* I changed it))

Joshua shook his head "The fact is you even considered it an furthermore implied I was putting you up to it!" he snapped "But remember your part of the prosecution now on a proper case so go get me loads of incriminating evidence to use tomorrow!" he said gesturing vaguely at the rest of the hall before turning to face the detective once more "I think I can help you out with that" he said removing a plastic clear box for the detective "I try and carry around things like this for evidence just in case knock yourself out Jenny" he said passing it to her before cracking his knuckles and standing before the door "Well? Should we go in and rustle up a few truths for ourself?" he asked.

((How come you changed your username? I had no idea you could even do that! :eh?: ))

Gratefully, Jenny accepted the box and proceeded to fish out from her tote, several small sealed bags containing used bullets, a switchblade, an empty pistol and a kitchen knife with three-quarters of the blade broken off, which she tipped into the plastic container and clicked the lid shut. She reached out and pushed open the door of the questioning room to reveal a brown-haired man of medium height with a pair of glasses perched on his nose sat at a carved table which obviously belonged in one of the exhibits. Several of the other detectives were also in the room and one got up from his chair and greeted Jenny.
"What kept you so long, Detective Illusion?"
"Meeting with the defense and prosecution." she returned. "Has he told you anything?"
"He has information on the Professor's work, but as yet we haven't questioned him about the events of the night of the crime."
She turned to Prosecutor Starr. "Shall we see what he has to tell us?"

((Is ArcanaFang RP-ing the witnesses? Otherwise it might be a little hard to actually conduct the questioning...))

"Th-thank you Miss Illusion!" He said pushing his hair back. I guess I don't need Odysseus to get some clearence, I can get it all by my pothetic self! "Um... good bye." Julius said as he walked up the steps to the museum. He was stopped by, but when told he was allowed by Detective Illusion they let him in. The exibits are intresting, but main event is murder! Why didn't I go into writing those little catch phases on movie poster... oh shiny. Julius walked over to the Egypt exibit. If my understand is correct, the murder took place here...

"But remember your part of the prosecution now on a proper case so go get me loads of incriminating evidence to use tomorrow!" Joshua said.Oh... is he still mad? Seems like he calmed down. But hey, finally, time to work hard!

"Yes Sir!"

Kai left. He headed to the site were according to the report happened the murder. He was willing to see if the body was still there, and if was, to see what information (or evidence) he would hold within. If he was already removed, he would investigate the blood stains that surely would still be on the place ha fallen dead. He was willing to take all information he could about this especific area. Let's see what this dead man can tell me...

(I think Arcana Fang will need to seeing as he's the one with the information that unfolds this case and yes I changed my name on a whim.)

Joshua grinned as he spied the witness in the small office "Nice to meet you Mr...Webb I'm to understand you were the late professors assistant yeah?" he asked remaining standing, "And you were here on the night of the murder as well.....Hmm" he said folding his arms "Well anyway why don't you tell us a little about what you were doing and what you saw last night. Anything to do with the accused?" he asked hopefully.
