Does Pearl really bother you that much when you're investigating? She's just a little tagalong, someone to talk to when you're examining random stuff. I didn't really notice whether she was helpful or not because I just didn't notice her at all.
Pearl's Maya/Nick fantasy is just a reflection of her totally innocent views on love. It is annoying sometimes, but still cute. And her sprites are cute. ^^ Especially her pretzel-hair, when she's doing her little jump or being surprised.
When you factor in the whole chivalry thing though... I think Ron is cuter.
