I have to write an essay for my Brit Lit class comparing a movie or game to Gawain and the Green Knight...And I chose PW3. Now, I'm focusing on the aspect of in both, the main antagonist is someone who should have died but came back in disguise in order to teach the main character a lesson. Can anyone who has read Gawain help with any other connections?

Also I may bring up the coincidence that in Gawain, Morgan le Fay sets things into motion, while in PW3, Morgan Fey sets things into motion. >_>

I read a VERY ABRIDGED version last year...

But based on what I know, what you stated is pretty much all they have in common...

That's a rather shallow comparison.

I'd like to be of more help, but unfortunately I have yet to read about Gawain.

There's actually a decent chance that Morgan Fey is an allusion to that. o.o

Godot should have died, but came back disguised as someone else.
I'm ashamed that no one else pointed that out lmao

See the starred word? This is why the link wasn't mentioned! :godot:

...As mentioned at the start, again, methinks the thread owner recognises this.

I think we all can assume that.

I only read Knights of the round table.Looking at the wikipedia article though, it doesn't look too similar. I'm thinking that the story with Damon Gant may be more similar as there is puppeteering involved. It's missing alot of key elements, btu it feels more similar to me. I havent' read the story though.

Well, the assignment is to only compare one aspect of each, so that's why I chose the Godot connection.

Bertilak plays the Exchange Game with Gawain three days, as Godot faces against Phoenix in three cases. I don't really remember the exact details of what happened in the Exchange Game, but you might be able to draw parallels from that.

I don't know if Morgan (le) Fey is too good to bring up, because in Gawain, Morgan is the one who sends Bertilak to do all of the stuff, while in T&T Godot is trying to stop Morgan. I think we're really just drawn to this connection because of the name. (As we were drawn to assuming the Shichishito was the murder weapon in 3-5 due to the crazy scene it had xD)

Morgan sent Bertilak to test Arthur's Knight's honor and courage, and Godot does what he does to escape the reality that he let Mia down and lost his honor like that. Morgan also sent Bertilak out to kill Gwenevyre(sp?), although there is only a brief mention of that, while Godot went out to prevent the death of Maya.

Arthur was initially going to accept Bertilak's challenge, but Gawain stepped in as a proxy. Phoenix was originally going to be the defense, but Edgeworth stepped in as a replacement. Of course, Phoenix comes back... >_>

That's all I can think of for now. But I think these are all pretty shallow. Honestly, Sir Gawain of the Green Knight was a criticism of how knights valued chivalry and honor over live. And while the defense and prosecutors are basically centered on personal battles, not caring for the defendants (I mean, Franziska and Godot were trying to get innocent people convicted, and possible a death sentence, just for a petty grudge) but this issue really isn't brought up in any of the cases.
