Without any quotes, it sorta seemed to come outta nowhere. Reading it over now, I also can't help but notice some irony...

In any case, I do believe there's a difference between a bromance and just simple friendship. And it has nothing to do with homo (or lack of it), implicit or otherwise.
Friendzone is one of those terms that have gotten a bad name (much like cis) because of how people used it. But it simply describes the part where one person wishes for something more while the other sees them just as friends. As simple as that.
As for yaoi and yuri, yeah, they do have said pornographic connotations, but it's not too unusual to see those terms used non-sexually in anime(-esque) works.

As for me, the reason I never use "yaoi" or "yuri" is because I think they make same-sex relationships sound like a genre instead of... well. Relationships. Fictional/headcanon:ed or not. I mean. I can see why people use the words. But for me it feels... I just don't like the implications, whether they're just in my mind or not.

(Not here to debate about how the words are used, though. Just stating my personal reasons.)

I've always seen a "bromance" as a funny way of describing a best friend. It isn't saying "no homo" as in being gay is wrong, but rather saying "no homo" in the sense of telling someone that you are heterosexual. Those are just my two cents, though.

Anyways, I don't really ship anyone with anyone. I'd rather see Phoenix with Iris than with Maya, but I would assume that neither of those ships are possible by the time Dual Destinies rolls around.

I actually don't quite get the bromance="dude, no homo" (as in; the term bromance having anything to do with that expression overall, because I can't really connect the two). I never saw bromance as a "heterosexuals only"-thing either, anyone can have that kind of relationship with a close friend. Like... "No romo" instead of "no homo".

Miles Edgeworth and Franziska Van Karma (although they could have an almost sibling like relationship in the games...) :franny: :edgey:

Not my favourites:

The only couple I do not like is Phoenix Wright and Dahlia Hawthorne. Ugh. :dahlia: :phoenix:

I really love Iris/Phoenix and Mia/Diego. These pairings have so much chemistry. Also a fan of Ema/Klavier lol. But Edgey/Oldbag is freaking beautiful.


I'm not a big fan of Maya/Phoenix because to me, they're like siblings. And Pearl makes it even more uncomfortable for me. And definitely not a fan of Athena/Blackquill because of the age gap.
