The extended trailer Ash linked.
I made a few more animations from it as well. (We get to see Von Karma, Edgeworth, Gumshoe, Ema and Dee Vasquez in 3D, which is pretty amazing!)

The 3D segments look prerendered, I don't think it's anything but video footage being played back.

Pity.

Yeah, but seeing as they actually bothered to model them, they could always reuse those assets for say, a Wii U remake of the trilogy (Literally all GS 1 and 2 cases seem to be in this game).

Really? But that extended trailer shows Ema and Dee Vasques, as well as an anime sceen of Mimi Miney, so it's possible that Turnabout Samurai and Rise from the Ashes might be in as well (It did say a total of 26 episodes, so it's possible there are more than 2 cases).

I think Ash was referring to the "anime part", as opposed to the 3D animated "battle part", where there are several more models used during play.

This game is actually a bit unlike normal pachinko in that it's probably easier to get chain wins as you go along. A jackpot rate of 1/249.2 for a 1576-ball bonus at the end isn't too bad.

I haven't seen the complete extended trailer yet, so I didn't know about the other characters, but still, even the extended trailer still mentions specifically those two episodes for the "Episode ST" mode.

I assume each case consists of multiple 'episodes'/parts. Maybe they rewrote the episodes a bit to include elements from other cases? (flashbacks or something like that?)

Ahh, yeah that's possible as well. It could be that each case is split into multiple episodes, but are a little more summarised.
I think the story can only really be told via the anime cutscenes, and gameplay has those pre-rendered 3D animations which change depending on how you're playing.

So I just watched through the whole trailer, and from what I understand from the trailer (though I know little of pachinko): whenever you enter Special Time (ST), you get to choose between two modes. The "Episode ST" mode only consists of Reunion, and Turnabout and Turnabout Goodbyes. Each case is split up in episodes, with one episode consisting of 1 anime part, and 1 battle part. There are a total of 26 episodes. The other mode is "Charge ST", which appears to be closer to Pachislot (slot machines), and this mode features no story or anything, just random scenes. No anime here, just the models.

There is also something like a V-ST mode, it seems, which is where you see Vasquez. I am not 100% what V-ST is though, I think it's an even shorter version of ST with different pay-out rates? Something like a bonus-round. It's not a full-fledged story-oriented mode though, from what I can tell. As far as I can tell, this too only uses the models in random scenes.

I found this video wandering around youtube, it shows the pachinko machine, and some new scenes showing a epic scene (with :damon: ) from Rise From The Ashes, and Turnabout Reunion.
And looks like Cornered is here too, surprise, surprise.

For some reason the colors are weird! :/

I really hope is from the anime. REALLY.

Oh wow that does look amazing! I'm kinda upset it's only in 360p, and so all those lights and flashes kill the quality, but it's not impossible to see what's happening.

Sadly, it doesn't seem to be: Takumi just tweeted that voice recording for the anime has just recently begun and animation is still mainly at the storyboarding stage.

That said, man does that RftA scene look cool. Now all I'm wondering is how exactly does Gant swim a lot, considering he seems to have actual electric powers, what with all those sparks leaping around him as he's getting ready for his (first) breakdown.

Also, kinda weird that Caught plays during Reunion, but the remix they used sounds pretty cool so yeah.

On another note, it greatly amuses me that the name of the pachinko machine is CR Gyakuten Saiban. What does CR mean on that context?

Found a better quality video with episode ST gameplay: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UpYzITzaEa8

It seems episode ST has several more episodes to choose from, from all three of the trilogy (at least some select cases up to 3-3), but so far I've only seen animated scenes for 1-4, 1-5, 2-2, and 2-3.

Also, on another video that showed a lack of the Gyakuten bonus, it's kinda funny seeing Nick fail, only to have Mia come in to save him.

I've only watched the 1-5 part, but I suspect that's not Episode ST, but one of the other modes; in the extended trailer it said that Episode ST always consists of an anime + battle part. Also note that this appears to be unedited footage, meaning that these short clips are shown after another w/o any context (going from one scene to a completely different scene), which doesn't appear to be what Episode ST's about.

(Though the extended trailer never mentioned that the other modes also had anime parts. The extended trailer does mention that 1-4 and 2-2 are one long episode/story, so all the other scenes that appear in other modes are just random scenes w/o any real context, from what I understand)

Well, they aren't in the Charge ST mode either, since that doesn't have those case-related animated scenes. Perhaps they're from a mode outside of ST? The general style of play, at least of what I've seen, seems to act like pachislot, with the characters associated with numbers slide onscreen depending on your current status of play.

Could be the V-ST mode I wrote about earlier. I was not really sure what it was, but I think it's something a bonus round? Guess they have clips too, although just for specific parts of cases, and not a whole case.

Card reader. You can't use money directly on these machines, only cards (probably IC cards nowadays).

Man, that is such a freakin' waste if that isn't what the anime will look like. The translation from still pictures on the GBA to fully animated sequences that still look the same is fantastic.

I know I'm stating the obvious, but, unfortunately, the official anime is definitely not going to look the same. For starters, the animation studios are different: the anime is being made by A-1, whilst the pachinko cutscenes look like they're done by BONES (tboth the animation and the art style definitely fit). Also, Maya and Mia on the poster look very different from the pachinko ones - if anything, Maya looks a lot like Asuna from SAO more than her original self.

A shame, really.

This would be so much more enjoyable without the blippy-blopping and the flashy-lashy-splashies that sear into my ears and eyes.

Can anyone identify the voices in the vid? Some of them definitely sound familiar, but I suck at identifying VAs.

I honestly hope the anime isn't like the way they show the episode content here. It feels much too shonen for something that should definitely be seinen - especially with the glowing aura effects and the light beams that pierce the witness stand. And Edgeworth shouting his encouragement to Wright as he charges up his final attack

Not that I'd object if they are in the anime, but I certainly wouldn't want it happening all the time.

The anime scenes themselves looked fairly subdued. They were cut together in kind of a smash-up way to make it seem very high-energy but looking at them individually seems straightforward.

It's the 3D sections that are over-the-top and crazy.

I was actually specifically referring to the segment with RftA. Nick fired a freakin' laser beam at Gant.

The animated scenes in court for Turnabout Goodbyes & Reunion and Turnabout are just fine as they are. The difference between them and the 3D scenes is staggering, though.

If anything, for me, the complete difference between the art style of the anime parts and 3D parts is also what made it easy to digest the difference in presentation between the two. You immediately notice when the game switched to "3D mode" and thus will be more flashy and game-y.

Even with a decline in revenue in recent years, the pachinko industry is an extremely profitable one. Much more than most people would suspect. But like in all industries, you do need an entertaining and attractive product if you want customers. It's no different from videogames.

If he could fire laser beams, he would never have lost his attorney's badge. Anyway, the laser beam thing only happened because Edgeworth believed in him.

The Gurren Lagann is strong with these two.

I only saw a screenshot of it, but I'm sure it's exactly the same.

What does that exactly mean? That they changed characters, dialogue and scenarios, giving an entirely different idea and feeling behind the game than the original Japanese had?

I have not compared the different versions, so I don't know the details, but apperently, the translation is sorta like how Ace Attorney was done (minus the name/setting changes). So while the base translation (the meaning of the lines) is still based on the Japanese, the team also added their own jokes. The example I saw was the dialogue of Cross series protagonist Xiaomu, who makes all kinds of otaku references in her English dialogue (none of that in her original dialogue lines).

I did notice Xiaomu reference Dark Souls at one point. But, the setting changes are indeed not there. Chris/Jill refer to Phoenix as a Japanese lawyer in a conversation, after a battle. So, yeah.
