Continuing with this experiment to semi-cover Layton series news as well as AA: Layton's Mystery Journey has gotten its second major trailer ahead of the game's release on July 20th.

You can watch a subbed version over here, and get a listen to the game's theme song, a look at some of its puzzles and story episodes, and even a quick shot of a certain professor...

(Note: above image may be nothing more than trailer-ending throwback gag)

The 'twist' that was shown in the trailer better not be real.

I kinda like how this game is divided into episodes Layton Brothers style. Neato. Though I wonder if Alfendi will appear.

The puzzles seem to be similar to PLvsAA's, which is a bit disappointing because those were mostly easy.

Kat's Voice actress has such a weird delivery of her lines. Actually all voice actors sound kinda weird in the trailers, so I hope we'll get at least an English Dub as well.

Level-5 has traditionally always shown a preference for using popular actors/TV personalities, rather than voice actors for the Layton series, and it sometimes shows. Level-5's always been quite aggressive in their marketing, and you can sell a lot more games if you cry out your games star people like Yo Oizumi or Maki Horikata (Luke). The cast of this game is also made up by popular actors/models, rather than people with a lot of voice acting experience.

Whilst I agree the delivery is atypical, I rather love it.
She sounds so deadpan or matter-of-fact most of the time, except when she gets excited. I doubt that's intended, but I really like listening to it.

That little gag at the end there had me smirking. I'm also glad to see how the Smartphone versions are going to play, I was a big nervous that it would be really awkward, but it looks fine!

I don't remember all those scenes at the end.

^You mean the same one in the OP? Those are from Layton 2,3, and 6 respectively.

It's really weird that they seem to have J-Pop song(s) in this game too.
