As you can read over at Silconera the Japanese PC versions of the Gyakuten Saiban games are being chopped up and, starting March 18th, distributed via download. Each "episode" will be about 120 yen each (they're chapters, not full cases) and be released gradually over the next few weeks. As of right now these are ports of the GBA games only, with no Rise From The Ashes and no added features.

Right now they haven't given any intention of offering this download service outside Japan. It's also unlikely that this represents the future of PW games, as Matsukawa already said in her recent podcast interview that the games just take too much time to make for them to consider regular episodic case releases.

But the more interesting news is the release of a little online program called "Let's Make Gyakuten Saiban," a kind of mini case maker. Unfortunately it appears to be more like a cheap game than a viable case maker, and to use it you have to sign up with the host, Daletto.
