Another game by CiNG - Again: Eye of Providence

I really hope it wasn't canceled! The game looked like it had a lot of potential. The story definitely interests me (it's kind of like Time Hollow meets Hotel Dusk?) - and the use of the bloody 20 dollar bill and Ave Maria is intriguing as well.

The art is the only thing that's kinda off-putting - Hotel Dusk's rough, sketchiness definitely appealed to me more. But I'll grow to like it, especially if the rest of the game is good.

Well, it looks like this game will be 'presented' at this year's TGS, which will take from September the 24th to 27th, in Tokyo.
Maybe we'll eventually get to know more about this game... like why a game which was supposed to come out this Spring hasn't even been released ? :jake:

I have to admit I like their 'new' graphic style much more than the previous one... It's not completely different, but it looks like they've greatly improved it. My guess is that's one of the reason the game was delayed. And also, it kinda reminds me of Hotel Dusk.

Well, now I'm really looking forward to playing this game, which looks much more better than it did at least year's TGS! :garyuu:

I just saw the trailer any may I just say that this game looks impressive.
It also looks a whole lot darker than CING's previous other games.

Oh wow. The simple white outline makes the characters look like they're constantly being followed by the chalk police use to outline where victim died. Seems more CSI or Law & Order then what we're used to from CiNG, but hey, CiNG is known for doing things different!

I have to say though that this trailer has me more interested then the earlier shots we had.

This game looks AMAZING! I am so glad they added an outline to everything. I had issues with the first trailer. It also looks from the screenshots that the graphics have improved from Hotel Dusk. Can't wait to buy the game!

That's probably the reason why it's published by Tecmo this time, since Nintendo isn't really... fond of too dark games :p

OK, Hotel Dusk was rated 12+ (in Europe), yet I don't think that this game will go up to 16+. It's just... darker :p

Oh, and I DO hope the soundtrack will be composed by Satoshi Okubo! :D

I dunno, the trailer was pretty good, but the gameplay seems really simplistic. Like, you just travel from place to place and do a spot-the-differences game for each crime scene. I hope there is a lot more variety to it than that.

Also, I still can't get used to those live action cutouts.

This has already been said many times by other people, but...I'm just not digging the "photo-realistic" character models, or however you would describe them. On the other hand, I guess it helps to not dilute the impact of Hotel Dusk's graphics (namely those of the likely sequel). Maybe I'll come to love the game anyway, Hotel Dusk was fantastic. :butzthumbs:

Man, the more I look at those screenshots, the more it feels like a PC Adventure game out of the 90's... or maybe an NCIS licensed video game.
=D Of course, we're getting all the benefits of it not being tied down to licensing and pre-designed characters, and double so with CiNG at the helm.

Question: did you know the game is to be released on the 10th of December in Japan? That's what both Play-Asia and the official website say... I never got wind of any announcement for a release of this game in December... :yogi:

It still doesn't look like much more than a spot-the-differences game, but that's perfectly fine if the storytelling is good. The tone of the story seems a bit different this time around, which is probably because it's a different scenario writer from their past games.

Well, of course you forgot, since a US release had been confirmed ever since the game was announced, back in 2008 at TGS ^^
