Idea that crossed my mind for just a second: a GS multiverse story. GS-Naruhodo, PW-Nick, DGS-Naruhodo and Film-Naruhodo working together to...accomplish something (manga-Naruhodo and audio-Naruhodo are too alike).

Gyakuten Naruhodo.

I'm not sure how this is remotely a good idea for a game, unless it's set at a cosplay convention.

So, uh, is this going to turn out to be a case where Nick is arrested as a public disturbance?

Actually, I do have a suggestion of my own. I've been following the Chinese edition of a TV show series called "The Brain" ("Super Brain", as it's originally known in Germany), where contestants challenge the most ridiculous of intellectual puzzles and accomplish feats that man never knew was possible. I sure would like to see someone of such status appear as a witness. Perhaps this person has a photographic memory and can pinpoint out the slightest differences at the crime scene. Or identify the killer in perfect clarity just after catching a sight for just a second. Or even distinguish a change in a liquid's levels and its rotation in a cup.

I kid you not with that last one. It's reality. Not sure how it'd apply to a crime scene, though.

Well, it really only passed by in a second, so it is not a really serious idea. But related ideas that pop up are:
1) Different gameplay styles per character (DGS mechanics, new film-Naruhodo mechanics that make more use of video)
2) Final Smash a la Mega Man
3) Merge the multiverses, get rid of GS/PW differences, new EN translation closer to Japanese.

Why does this sound so beautiful?

I'd love to see a GS game that integrates various gameplay aspects, though why would we need to get rid of those differences? I'd say Nick and Naruhodo can hold a delightful conversation with each other without things becoming awkward between them.

Oh, and what do you think of my idea up above?

It can work quite well in detective stories. In fact, it has. One of the protagonists of Tantei Gakuen Q, Megu, for example has photographic memory and it is occasionally used in quite brilliant plots. As for 'superhumans', you see them all the time, with the ability usually to show (s)he could or could not do certain actions (or could have done it differently), serving as a piece of information to help the deduction (i.e. he would not have needed to do X, because he can do Y, thus he is not the murderer). Or the other way around. Dangaronpa has a couple, IIRC.

Meg was the first one that came to mind when I thought of it, actually. I'm hoping GS will eventually come up with one of their own geniuses, who is legitimately a genius with abnormally high IQ or some specialized talent.

Heck, throw in a savant and we're good to go. Naturally, people wouldn't suspect this person to be a savant until this person displays their talent in court. Touching and inspirational, I like.

I know the good ol' murder cases are like Gyakuten Saiban tradition now, but I'd love to see a more major one. Like a public plane crash or something.
Actually, now that I think of it, what I just said sounds more like Gyakuten Kenji material to be honest.

Your definition of genius is too loose. I'm talking about noticing details that the normal eye/ear can't pick up on. It'd have to be a trait exclusive to a particular character, but that character should be more than just someone who has a specialized talent.

This person isn't just an expert at something; it's supposed to be a talent for something to the point that sounds ridiculous or impossible, but actually is possible... like identifying a person's fingerprints without having to wait for forensics or even having the data records of involved persons. This would definitely be something the defense attorney on the case could use.

And on that thought, Athena's hearing prowess doesn't sound nearly as absurd when you factor in her basic knowledge of psychology. She can hear the sound of people's heartbeats and base her assumptions on how the pulse changes as the witness' psychological state changes. (But the bit about "voices of the heart" and being able to detect how happy or sad or whatnot someone is through the power of flashy lights on a screen is still BS.)

Excuse the double post, but I think enough time has passed.

This idea came to me in a dream, but I don't think that makes it any less valid. Perhaps it's about time we faced with a foreigner as a prosecutor. I prefer this prosecutor to be a woman in her 30s just because we need another lawyer with more experience. Her quirk is her charming prowess, both in her natural beauty and her manner of speaking and argumentation. (She's like Mia, but as a foreign prosecutor, basically.) Naturally, the court would want to side with her on the spot. Another quirk of hers would be to often mistake terms or sayings because she's not that great with the native language. And to keep it balanced for both Japanese and localized versions, we can assume she hails from a fictional country like Borginia (but maybe not exactly that one).

But the best part of it is obviously that she's a fan of Nick and loves to flirt with him on any occasion. To avoid any awkward confrontations, he leaves the case to Apollo and Athena and runs away somewhere.

I'd like to see a prosecutor like that!
I liked those parts in 3-5 where Franziska and Nick are investigating, and Franziska's saying "All Americans put gravy on their possessions" (Or something to that effect).

^ My favorite of their interactions was when Franziska referenced "The United States of Whatever".

Also, wouldn't this sound totally natural in one of these games?

"Urf... Hey, Athena. Any chance we can convince Mr. Wright to show up here and 'convince' the prosecutor to go a little easier on us?"

"Who knows? We haven't seen him anywhere since yesterday."

"...That sounds like all kinds of wrong."

"Or maybe it's just Wright?"

"...How long were you waiting to say that?"

"A long time."

I'm beginning to grow a little impatient with this game. Isn't it quite overdue to be revealed at this point? Can we really be sure Yamazaki/Eshiro and co. are not just working alongside Takumi on DGS?

I don't what they are working on, but there's no way they're going to announce another GS before they've released their current GS title. That's just bad business.

I know that Eshiro/Yamazaki are separate to Takumi/Kojima so It is possible they could announce a new GS this year, although it'd be after DGS' release. (But there was GS5 and PLvsAA announcements running in unison at one point, so it's not impossible?)

Be patient. We had to wait 6 years between GS4 and GS5. It's only been 2 years since GS5 came out.

Hahaha, that's only because Takumi had Ghost Trick, and Eshiro's team were doing spin offs.
It is still a standard 2 years a game, and with DGS coming July it's possible GS6 will be as early as 2016, or as late as 2018-9 (If GK3 is the next game after DGS)

Sorry, Aj, but something about that screenshot doesn't look right. Maybe it's the contour of the model as it looks in 2D that doesn't quite match up with the real screenshots on GS5's page; I'm not sure. I suppose they could have started using a slightly different modeling software, but I doubt it. Looks really polished, though.

Also, that logo is... well, just a bit too crowded, and I don't only mean the characters.

I drew the image in Photoshop actually :will:
I wanted to try and make a convincing "leak" as a joke, but I'm happy people saw through it :acro:

I know the shading was hard, I used Apollo's sleeves and tried to warp them to fit the shading on her sprite pose. The rest was also warping parts of Apollo's jacket to do her vest and pants. (The full drawing is here if you want to see it: http://fav.me/d8scvf4)

I got the background and the non kanji characters from screenshots on miiverse XD

Also that Logo was just for the lolz :redd: I thought it would've given it away it was fake XD

Hahaha, I had no idea who would be the game's main focus. I do think those 3 will all have an equal role kinda like in DD though, the more I play DD, the more I think Athena's in it as just as prominent a lawyer as Apollo.

Same suggestion I had with GS5: USE the Jury System they built up in AJ!
I'm pretty sure it can be done, turning it into a gameplay mechanic and even open up options for a really neat story: prejudice people have against certain crimes or criminals, someone with a personal vendetta manipulating the Jury from within to get certain verdicts on criminals, etc, etc.
Heck, they could even go so far as to make GS6 (or some of its cases) take place before GS5 or between AJ and GS5, so as to explain WHY the Jury system suddenly dropped off the face of the earth. (As mentioned above, they might have had an issue with verdicts being too heavy on certain things because of personal reasons and decided to remove it, maybe to work out some kinks before attempting to set it up again)

Because of THEDARKAGEOFTHELAW (tm).
Seriously though, your idea sounds nice, but considering it will be the same people working on GS6, THEDARKAGEOFTHELAW (tm) will probably be their excuse if they even bother with it.

I always thought it was called the "Dark Age of the Law" because people have been left in the dark about it. And I'm not saying this just for the pun. They could actually pull something concrete out from under this paper-thin concept if they take its direction toward the government's cover-up and scandal.

It's going to drift further away from both plot lines of GS4 and GS5, but that might actually be a good thing. It'd be impractical to try to force a connection between them when there wasn't supposed to be one in the first place.

Linguistically, it's also rather doubtful Kokone would say that, as it isn't consistent with her GS5 speech patterns.

I just figured it was a one-time-only thing, but looking back at it, she'd probably stick with ホーヅキ刑事 or just ホーヅキさん, huh? The only other one who loves katakana names as much as she does would probably be Natsumi...

Still, there's a good chance Ema's returning for GS6, given what happened to Fulbright and all.

I only went with it because in GS4 Odoroki uses 「宝月刑事さん」when meeting her for the first time, so I guessed Kokone would do the same (hard since I haven't played the japanese games)

I want a ladder/stepladder discussion. In court. With Objections and finger pointing and desk slamming.

Or a witness mentioning a ladder in their testimony, and its identity as either an ordinary ladder or a stepladder turning out to be a crucial plot point.
(......Ack! I've run out of snide comments!)

I can imagine so vividly.

"Your Honor, it is imperative that we understand the nature of this object!"
"And why's that, Mr. Wright?"
"Because only a stepladder is free-standing!"
The entire court goes into an awkward silence.
"And what does that have to do with anything?" the prosecutor challenges.
"Really, now. I'm disappointed in all of you. To not be able to grasp such a crucial point..."
"What are you getting at, Mr. Wright!?"
"What I'm getting at is whether or not the defendant could have really reached the vent opening in the ceiling!"
"Bah, whether or not it was a ladder or stepladder doesn't matter! If it was a ladder, it could have been propped up against the table!"
"But that table was stained with the victim's blood, and the ladder in question was not! The defendant didn't have the leisure to wipe it free of stains and then return it to the shed!"
"The stain on the table was only on one side! The defendant could have simply propped it elsewhere!"
"Sorry, but that won't work here! First of all, that table is heavy enough that it would give one person difficulty to move it. Do you think my client would have spent precious time to spin the table around, just to prop a ladder on it, and put it back after he was done, all in the span of five minutes!?"
"But... you can't be saying...!"
"Oh, I am saying it!" *zoom up* "The object the real killer used to get up there was, in fact, a STEPLADDER!!"
And the court bursts into noise once more.

A case where the ladder-stepladder discussion is finally brought to a close...though something so epic should be left for the last case of the last game in the series.

Nah, I don't think it should be saved for the final case of the final game. It'd take forever to show up. Besides, we didn't exactly start with the ladder/stepladder discussion until the third case of the first game. In fact, we just need a case involving a ladder, a stepladder, and a stool, and something like the above happening.

A case where Simon Blackquill and Godot come back, and they drink coffee together - that would be a good thing for GS6, methinks. *cough*

^*snort!* Ach, you and your tomfoolery. :edgey:

On a more serious note: I hope for a female prosecutor this time - they sure have been lacking. And someone who isn't a prodigy or anything, someone slightly older than the rest... that actually doesn't act like they're in a schoolyard sending birds, coffee mugs or whiplashes on people. If she's intimidating she'd be it on her own merits, not depending on things like a whip and childish insults (as much as I love Franziska).
