Hi there folks, I'm here to show you my PW fangame (created with the rpg maker 2003). To get a better idea of the gameplay on the maker I recommend to watch the trailer. Oh, there was no case maker when I started to create that thing but I prefer to script everything myself.
The main rival of this game is Edward "Blooming", a fancharacter made by Officer V.C. No worries, we gave her a lot of credit for the sprites.
There are two cases with 8 hours gameplay, that should keep some of you busy. There is a translation patch in work by DDRKhat, so stay patient. Yes, the game is in GERMAN (for now), so only people who took german classes are going to understand it. Just thought it would be interesting to show what kind of stuff I do over there.
I do hope this game motivates some of you to continue your projects. The world needs more PW fangames!

I might fix Edward's hairline on the close-in shot, since it goes way far out from his forehead, but other than that, the OC sprite looks really good and goes to show you what a few color and pose changes can do for making a sprite look unique. I barely recognized Phoenix's body

I forgot to mention that your trailer looks very nice. I do understand some German but probably not enough to understand the cases properly. Great work.

I'm just delaying a translation because most of the dialogues are set in some kind of database which can't be patched that easily. If someone would make a patch for an incomplete version, he would have to do everything over again for a newer one. That's why I recommend to wait for a patch until I'm done with the full game.

Yeah. Although let me say if there was a full version of one out before I started my game, I would be using one. But the only one out then was a primitive version of MechaBowser's casemaker that couldnt do shit. So I ended up using Multimedia Fusion and Visual Basic.NET for my game. Wrote my own custom engine and everything. Click my sig and check it out!

I know you from all those battles about the case maker you had with Mecha Bowser. So no worries there about your abilities and competence. The only thing you need to access the maker-database with is the rpg maker 2003 itself, so get it (can't tell you where, because that would be illegal) and open the game in it. Testimonies and questions from the judge are built in as pictures, so you need to make your own instead of changing the code. Just make sure to save those with 256 colours and to "import" them via the maker. The remaining dialogues are set on the map as events. This way nothing may interfere with the system.
I'll be happy to see something from you. If you need any kind of help with the translation send me a pm. I also would like to add you in any kind of instant-messenger, if you got something like that.

I have been struggling hugely with a couple of translations, I will be shortly posting a youtube video of my current progress. I haven't any special tools, just notepad modifying the map files (Making sure that the exact same amount of characters are going into place) So feel free to point out any mis-translations I may have done. If this inspires anyone to help translate it all that would be awesome, as it would then just be me carefully restructuring sentences to fit. Along with graphical editing of certain parts.

Edit: Proof of work! (Youtube Video) That is what I've done so far. That'll be my progress for the day as it's getting somewhat late where I live, and so I'm going to take some leisure time. And for the record, you don't need to install any huge-ass project folder or anything for the RPGmaker, you just need to grab a copy of Harmony.dll and shove it in the Phoenix Wright - Hidden Traces v0.52 folder alongside RPG_RT.exe and it'll run fine.

Anyway, translation has continued, I've gone back and neatened up previous sentences (seeing as I don't have to text-inject now). I've made the starting menu English (Although it was easy to figure out anyway). I've reverted the case page to its German for now. I'll sit down and modify it once again later. I have translated up to the Cross-Examination. It's proving a bit difficult trying to find where all of the information is placed but I'm getting there gradually. I will try to get the very first cross examination translated then, perhaps if enough interest is here in it, post what I have translated so far so people can play through the case so far.

100% Evidence translated for 1st case. (With help from Canas's crew for one of the pieces of evidence)
Hud 90% Translated (Press, Present etc all done. Only Case 2 parts not complete)
Penalty speeches done (None important for translation, so Made my own :) )
I do apologize it's not much today, although it took a few hours to get all of the evidence translated and inputted into the game properly, not to mention fixing some of the HUD pieces!

However, the evidences, descriptions of the persons and cross examination statements aren't just a text in a textbox, these things are pictures. To translate these, you have to write the translatet text (same as translating every thing else in the game), make a screenshot, cut everything besides the textbox out and copy this into the game.
And yes, I have this maker and have looked at the code. You could also see it if you look into the "Picture" folder, there are pictures of evidence descriptions, statements and other things. Oh, and the "Detective Work" stuff can't be translatet that way, because these were made with a graphic program (I don't know which one, but you can't make things like this without a graphic program for RPG-Maker games). So therefore you would need the right font and graphics.
@DDRKhat: Good work, I'd love to see a fully translatet game. =D

It would translate the Graphics how I do it for the english version.
But you must give me the picture texts, i don't speak spanish xD.
and... *oh!* - afaik, Canas is also speaking spanish...
So, if you want the Game in spanish, you surely could translate it with our help ^_^
With more languages in future, it would be a Multi6 game like the GBA/DS-Games xD

Yes, that's correct. I lived for 3 years in Spain, however I can't speak it anymore because I'm busy studying Italian. Both languages are very much alike which could lead to mess-ups. Not very useful for a student. That's why I try as good as possible to avoid Spanish.
However I'm only a supporter, most of the translation would be an issue of the patch-project leader, anyway.

Sort of. Not -as- easy as that. You need a fair bit of dedication and spare time on your hands, or good time managing skills, to have the patience to sit and translate it all, as the text for it all is a little here, a little there, and unless you can read German with a bit of fluency you will struggle to find it all without the support of the creator.
