I was wondering how would a PW-like game look made with RPG Maker XP. For those who know it, of course. I could use some scripts to present and other stuff, and it would be a platform game in the investigations, and the trials would be like always.

There already was a PW fangame made in Rpg maker, even it it just turned out to be a joke project.
It was still pretty good.

I don't think this is the right thread for this, though I'd be happy to discuss it in another thread.

Darin Ardgall (which Ceres referenced) was made in VX, though I think it was a court-only game. I don't know much about the difference between VX and XP, since I've only ever used VX, but I imagine it'd be similar in XP.

Edit: Also, what Steel Samurai said below - RPG Maker is no good for platform games. Just cause they have a jump function doesn't mean it works well :P I'm assuming you mean RPG overhead-style investigation, though.

For this kind of a game I strongly suggest using Game Maker instead of RPG Maker.

Whoops, didn't mention this to you in the PM but Case 1 on AAO is only a demo of what the PWlib version is going to be like. I only had 4 testimonies in that case- the PWlib version has a total of 8 testimonies, with two being still testimonies using a combination of the GK and GS Style testimonies in an investigation period.

Best if you fix that major error. I want my fan game to live up to having the longest cases ever.

Updates to GS Platform game:

-the old project name no longer supported, current name "Project Curse" (new logo coming semi-soon)
-Functions currently supported: near-perfect Castlevania Dracula X/Vampire's Kiss character controlling emulation, no menu engine or stages currently
-announces: character engine beta-test version coming semi-soon, testers wanted (PM)
-Upcoming functions: GAMEPAD SUPPORT, more sprite updates, story-sequenses presented by pictures made by artist, personally composed music, midi/mp3-support, personal-made remixes of music from Castlevania and Ace Attorney series

Info:
Takes place 10 Years after Trials & Tribulations (3 years after AJ) The begining of the story of Ryu Kenji, a young "rookie" prosecutor. Lost his memory, he was found by the fierce prosecutor Franziska Von Karma. He was trained by Von Karma to become a prodigy. The story takes place in the same country as AA games (Los Angeles, Japusa) The jurist system was taken down because Mr. Wright left, and a corrupt person took charge, making a lot of Guilty people, declared Innocent. Now Udgey has his power back!

I'll be using LuAA.
Also Pysche-Locks.

Hooray! I have returned, and on top of that, I have updated the page! Just so everyone knows, somebody pitched me the idea of organizing the games from the most progress made to the least progress, so whoever visits the page will know which games are ready to play. I fully agree with this idea, so I have organized accordingly.

Chapter 1 - Turnabout Scapegoat
Roughly one month after the events of Trials and Tribulations, Phoenix Wright hasn't had a single case. Until one night, when Marvin Grossberg is murdered by an unknown person. The suspect is Vincenzo Cicatrice, a former defense attorney with Grossberg's law firm. It turns out that the case is closely related with a trial Vincenzo had been part of five years earlier. With the addition of a sarcastic slacker of a detective and an intimidating new prosecutor, Phoenix and his assistant Maya Fey must uncover the grim background of this case to reveal the truth behind Grossberg's death.

I am working on an engine of my own.
  • Done in Flash, meaning that it is webbased and no software downloads are needed.
  • Uses an xml based dataformat for easy editing in your favorite text editor.
  • Supports youtube videos, because it's trivial to add in Flash
  • Currently supports cross examinations only
  • In heavy development.
  • Will support ( listed in planed implementation order):
    • Classical investigations
    • Psyce locks
    • AAO importer (I am hoping to make it the successor)
    • Perceive
    • Some minigames like fingerprint lifting
    • AAI investigations

...You're actually doing it?! I thought that thread was just a brainstorm thread and an attempt to get Unas to remake the editor in flash.

Summary:
Step back into the courtroom as Apollo Justice! Just as before, Apollo must question key witnesses, collect vital evidence, and perceive the witnesses' lies through their body language. He's assisted by his magician assistant Trucy, and the brand new "switch" system, which allows Apollo to trade off with Trucy to question suspects from different points of view. And good thing, as Apollo's going to need all the help he can get this time around to defeat an all new prosecutor: The Courtroom Butterfly, whom it is said can take any case and put it through a metamorphosis until it transforms in her favor. But just who is this mysterious new prosecutor, and why is she out to get Apollo?

Can you please change the description for Apollo Justice Case 5 whenever you've got the time?

Current version: Full game 1.2

Functions currently supported: The full game has been released, and provides at least 7 hours of gameplay. Includes extra phone conversations with some of the characters as well as a surprise feature for the last day of trial. (See official site for full details)

Upcoming Functions Announced: Maps may be used in investigations instead of the "move" menu ; Spanish and/or French translation. (See official site for full details)
