Good day forumers!
I'm not sure what to say here, so I'll just get to the point...May I introduce...

PW AA: Secrets Behind Justice!
Image

Some secrets wait to be discovered
Some never are....
Some lay in the shadows...
And Justice is the Light....

What: SBJ is a trilogy of cases, each connected by a dark past, present, and future...Phoenix must unveil the secrets that lie in the shadows... :phoenix:

How: Pywright...great program :wellington:
____________________________________________________________________________________________________

There, they meet their instructor, Annaleise; but the next day, the three are caught right in the middle of a murder, and Annaleise is the prime suspect! How will they prove her innocence when even SHE'S convinced she did it? How are they going to solve a case...without knowing the victim's identity? Who's this ninja that keeps stalking them? And what is hiding in the shadows of this case? These secrets are only the beginning...

Story:
Spoiler:
Not long after their last case, Phoenix and Maya find that a nearby research facility had an...accident. And in the midst of all the chaos, a dead body is found...murdered. And as a new prosecutor step into the light, Phoenix has to get past HIS secrets as well. But this murder isn't--normal...The victim used last seconds to write her killer's name, and her best friend is arrested...but is "SAM" really what she meant to write? What caused the "accident"? And why was the body found 50 ft. away from the crime scene? How is this connected to his last case? Who's the mysterious man following them? Phoenix must answer all of these questions to take just one step closer to the truth.

_____________________________________________________________________________________________________
Case 3: A Presidential Turnabout

Progress: Not started
Story:
Spoiler:
The president of our country is coming to town, and everyone's excited. But the party doesn't last too long--the Vice President is accused of murdering a member of Congress! And the only witness...none other than the president himself! The V.P. specifically request Phoenix's help, but is he up for the job? The trilogy races to it's conclusion as the final secrets are revealed...and the results...may shock you...

Now here's the thing...I am from America...this game will take place in America...this game will include references to the American government...if you are unfamiliar with the American government, I will try to make it as understandable as possible in the game...so...yeah...
____________________________________________________________________________________________________

Updates for any of the cases above will follow!

Special thanks to Ping' and Cardiovore...for my inspiration....

Enjoy!

I can come up with the title, but you must tell me something about the case (private PM). I understand if you don't want to tell me who is murderer, but I need something interesting in case (screenshots, evidence or smth like that). I myself working on my own game.

But for real -
Turnabout Gunpoint
Turnabout Sight
Turnabout Aim
Turnabout Battlefield

Again - You need to know, what the story of the episode will be most about. Title should represent the nature of the case (not always literally).

Is this your first time making a case in Pywright? If you have any questions, ask me. It can be kind of frustrating to try and do it all just based on looking at other scripts.

It's technically my first time making an official game...I've experimented with it before, but I was never really dedicated to it until now...

I'm probably going to have lots of questions along the way! My programmers are getting lazier and lazier...
That would be great!

Here is some ideas about sub-title

Secrets and Shadows
Justice Light ~ Light of Justice (Truth)
Return of Justice (Rights) (Judgement)
Redemption for Truth

I actually already have a sub-title...thing...sort of...it could be better, but, hey, I tried... :gregory:

"Redemption for Truth" is actually really cool, I like it! See, one of my artists has already suggested doing a sequel to SBJ (very optimistic fella')...if we were to do that, Redemption for Truth would be perfect! :godot:

Nope, I won't involve any humor and/or characters that relate to the current elections or offend anyone...it'll be more of a generic president, never involving Democrats or Republicans.

Current Progress:

WELLL....programming is giving us some problems, but we've solved most of them.

I've decided to add a series of cut-scenes to the game (i.e. these kinds of things) and they're currently in progress. Yay!

Being that the planning for the first case is done, I've put a bit more thought into the next case: Turnabout Breaking Point; plus, I've also made a realization:

My goal is to make this game as realistic as possible. No, not graphically, but plot-line--wise...
The events that take place will be things that could actually take place--not that the events in the original games or any other fan-games are unrealistic-----but there's no spirit mediums, demons seeking revenge from the dead, or cardboard attorneys' badges... :zenitora: No characters with orange skin or pink hair--or robots... :keiko: Mentally unstable doctors ( :hotti: ) or prosecutors that have come "back from the dead"... :godot: You get the point.
I love these...odd...aspects of the game, but I'm branching out a bit from the series, making it much darker....hope it works... :phoenix:

Well, that's it for now...back to work :yogi:

Erm... Question. I just noticed you put up a few screenhots in the first post. While they look nice, I have two things to ask:

1. Why is there no character nametag in places where there is no actual character talking displayed, only the background? ("Maya, t-this is the key to solving this case!", for example).
2. Hm... While I don't really have that much against using backgrounds from real-life, they do stand out... :/

Heh...yeah, I noticed those...

Well, for number one: I didn't do the programming for those, so...uh...I'm gonna re-do those on my own and upload them later...

As for the backgrounds, I'm working on those--I'll either draw over them or use that art pack you sent me. :phoenix:

Let's see, as for the game itself...a couple of characters have been designed for the second case, but their sprites are the 'rough draft' state, for now...

So, lately, I've been overwhelmed with schoolwork, and I haven't been able to work on it for a while...

I don't think I'm going to have a demo out next week...I'm reconsidering making a demo at all.
I'm still going for a full-release in January...I'm sure I can get it done by then.

Anyway...If anyone...is...interested in...maybe...helping out...anything is appreciated!

Judging from the project's status, I'm assuming that you only really have the coding left to do. Is that correct? How long is the case?

Uh...technically, yes, all I have left is the programming...I also have to organize sprite sheets, etc.
The case will be the normal 3 day case--three days of investigation, three days of trial. As for hours of game-play, I'm not sure.

Hmm... For something that big, I'd actually recommend releasing it in parts, rather than as a whole. I personally feel that it helps smooth the development process.

But of course, that's up to you.

The sprite sheets won't be hard. It's just a lot of copy/pasting.

The open source mantra is release early release often. The good thing about that is that getting feedback on early portions can help you fix mistakes in later portions before you even make them, and the releasing process itself is kind of painful, so getting some practice at it makes it less so. Also, working on something that takes a long time to finish in a bubble can make it easy to run out of steam. This is less of a problem if you have a motivated team, but releasing a demo or a part 1 can give you the boost of energy to make it to the next milestone :)

Good luck!

You guys are right...I should do it in parts--seems to be the most efficient and easiest way to do it at this point... :phoenix:
I'll start working on the details soon...I'm on Thanksgiving break this week, so I plan to get some stuff done:)

Thanks for the advice!
