Might as well make the topic for country music since i like it also.
My favorite is stuff from the 80's and 90's. I hardly ever listen to today's country. It's just not the same as it was (except for ones like Alan Jackson and George Strait, who refuse to change theirs :jake: ).

Hm... Most of the time, I don't really listen to country, and quite a lot of the songs I hear would be fine if the southern accents weren't so obviously fake.

But there is some country I like. I would go into specifics, but really, it's my brother who knows every single country song I like. Much better than I do, anyway...

When it comes to American folk music, country is my least favorite and also one of the more specific.

Because it lies so deeply rooted in tradition (to the extent of being really redundant and cut & pasted), it's hard for me to like contemporary country artists.

Johnny Cash is cool, but everyone likes him so it doesn't matter.

I'm not really a huge fan of country music in general, but the few songs I have heard seemed to have interesting and creative lyrics when compared to mainstream pop and rock music. The closest I ever really get to listening to country is the more southern rock style songs that they usually play on classic rock stations. Growing up, I was surrounded by country music, so I am familiar with many songs from the late eighties and early to mid nineties. All the other moms in our carpool listened to country, and almost all the songs in our school talent shows were country as well.

My family used to listen to country all the time during the early 90's. That's the only kind of country music that I'll ever listen to if I ever get in the mood to listen to country(which is like, never).

I was shocked as hell when i found out they used One Step Forward by the Desert Rose Band in the game. DRB is one of my favorite 80's country bands.

I don't know if this counts, but The Ditty Bops are a band that I listen to that is classified as Country. Some of my friends don't like them due the style it's done in. Their voices go into a southern drawl on specific songs, but most of the time it's very clear.
I dounbt anyone on here has heard of them, but I thought that I'd put in my opinion.
