My absolute favorite band at this point and time and possibly for all time are The Protomen. For those of you who don't know, The Protomen are a ensemble band from Tennassee creating a rock opera based on a darker version of the Classic Mega Man series. There are currently two acts out, the self titled album from 2005, and "Act II, the Father of Death" a prequel focusing on Light and Wily, which was released last September.

Unlike most bands, it has little to do with the video game music, rather using original compositions

The best part of the band is that they have this keyfabe gimmick of portraying themselves as actual members of the dystopian setting of the Acts. This makes their live shows as entertaining as the music.

Old classic rock: The Beatles (and all members while solo, except Ringo), The Rolling Stones, The Ramones, Pink Floyd. Then there's also Queen.
And for more recent bands, Green Day is a top one, next to Coldplay. Also, Fatboy Slim, Moby, and, somewhere in there, thanks to my dad, the gods of western instrumental, ELP (Emerson, Lake and Palmer for the poor saps who don't know them).

I love their first CD so much, best album ever, but I don't really like Pretty. Odd.. And I hate The Young Veins.

MCR was the band I was obsessed with before P!ATD. XD There's this interview where Brendon Urie mentions the Black Parade, I nearly had a heart attack when I first saw it. <3 And the interview was called Panic! At The Disco-Naked. I got so excited when I saw that name. DX

lol PATD were my obsession before AA. I'd still say they're my fave band even though I don't really listen to them that much anymore..

First album was FANTASTIC. Time to Dance is one of my favourite songs ever. Pretty. Odd was amazing because it's so different. Not as emo-ish.

Not heard anything of theirs since =/

But I'm still going to marry Brendon one day ^.^

Mmm P!ATD=gooood :D I haven't really heard anything from Pretty Odd except for Nine in the Afternoon, but I love their first album. Time to Dance is a really good song. There's actually two different versions of it, iirc... Now all this talk is making me want to listen to them again. *pulls up file and listens to the first album*

Oh god the other version of Time to Dance (it's called the demo version I think) is YUMMY.

The song is based off a book called Invisible Monsters (which is why I read it in the first place) and now it's one of my favourite books ever <3

Pretty. Odd is awesome. When I heard it was partly influenced by The Beatles I wasn't really looking forward to it but no, it's brilliant.

My list has become considerably shorter since I've weeded out the artists I haven't had a devout interest in. Artists who qualify for a spot are ones that I can consistently connect with, watch for tours, monitor new releases, etc. Most of them haven't changed.

As I Lay Dying
Disturbed
Eisbrecher
Joe Satriani
Judas Priest
Killswitch Engage
Linkin Park
Metallica
Pantera
Rammstein
Soundgarden
Testament
Trivium

1. The Bravery, due slightly to the fact that it was one of the first bands I listened to. I actually despised music in all forms as I grew up as a child.
2. Metallica, Forced unto me as a child. The song that set it off was Turn the Page.
3. Apocalyptica, Their first album was a collection of Metallica songs played on cellos. Hope is my favorite, Mostly due to the fact that it reminds me so much of Morpheus.
4. MSI. Industrial-Jungle-Pussy-Punk. Who else but a singer Named Jimmy Urine would describe his own band in that way? Bring The Pain a fine example of their blatantly "don't give a fuck" attitude.
5. The Temptations. Old band yes, but, We cannot ignore how great their music is. Wish it Would Rain We all have those days.
6. Dawn of Ashes. Horror themed music, how more badass can you get?
7. Led Zeppelin. Stairway to Heaven, that is all that needs to be said about that.
8. Iron Maiden, Fear of the Dark is one of the few songs I prefer live over studio.
9. Santana. Samba Pa Ti, one of the first songs I wept manly tears over.
10. Whitesnake. Sexual Music.

Hey look at that, DoMaya can make a list of bands too.
BUT he doesn't just post a couple of names, he makes sure everyone else knows why that band is awesome.
What's that, he even posts some URLs too!?!
Man, It's like he ISN'T just doing this to get a post count +1

My favorite band, without a doubt, is Panic! At the Disco. I absolutely adored A Fever You Can't Sweat Out; my favorite song was London Beckoned Songs About Money Written By Machines. God, they're awesome.

But I was disappointed when Ryan and Jon left the band, I loved Ryan. :(

But, I like The Young Veins, too. >:3

I like old fashioned stuff. 70's-80's (& sometimes 90's) rock.
But some mainstream rock is good, but none are as good as the likes of the Queen, Kiss, and many others.

To say my absolute fav band, it would be Depeche Mode
WHY?
Clearly because of their music
It always contains a certain message, the tunes are awesome and Dave's and Martin's voices are plain beautiful and awesome as well
Also Depeche never was like commercial
and if you know their whole story, their ups and downs you will learn to love them even more
