As far as I remember, Both Sides of the Brain by Del Tha Funky Homosapien was the first album I bought with my own money. This was sometime around sixth or seventh grade, so we're lookin at 2002 or 3. Fantastic purchase, though I haven't listened to it in a while.

Hmm... I don't remember.

The album that made me interested in music was Master of Puppets by Metallica. I was 12 back then. I'm tired of them now though, even their old stuff.

I got one for free from my dad, which was a Beatles one that he made (legally, for private use ONLY) with over 400 songs.

The true one was an import of GK.

Micheal Jackson - Dangerous

I loved the cover art and junk alot. I think my favorite track was one which was not one of his 'big' ones, I forget now. I think it was in 1992 or something.

Bought it on the first week it came out. (I was a huge New Found Glory fan back then. Also marks the start of when I stopped downloading albums off of bit torrents. XD)

Got it in 1993 on cassette (still have it). It conditioned me on rock and metal, and helped me avoid the sucky pop shit that came out in the 90's.

Might be recogniseable to the few norwegians here. Got a gift card for music when I was in 5th grade, had no idea what to buy, so I ended up buying this, because I liked his singles. Didn't even like it back then, listened to it once.

"The Arockalypse" by Lordi.
Saw them on TV 2006, thought "Holy shit, this is so funny, I need the CD" and well, here I am. :D Still a rabid fan of the monster group, but via Lordi, I got introduced in Metal and other awesome music. I still have the album here though the CD got played to death and the cover is pretty scratched, but it remains somewhat holy to me.

Honestly, I can't remember. Probably one of those stupid Pokemon CDs.

I DO remember, however, buying my first Parental Advisory album...it was We're Not Happy Till You're Not Happy by Reel Big Fish.

I know my first single was 'Cher's - Believe', however I do think my first album purchase was 'The Hives - Your New Favorite Band'

Image

However it might be 'Limp Bizkit's - Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water' album, I can't really remember.

The first album I ever recieved/bought was Van Halen's 5150. I was...eleven. XD It was either that one or Elton John - Good Bye Yellow Brick Road, which incidentally was the first album my FATHER ever got...which he stole from a local Hastings at the age of 14. XD

First Album I bought was Ladies Night by Atomic Kitten. I had other stuff before, but it was usually other people who bought them for me, and I use to buy just singles.

Keep in mind, I hated all modern music until 2003. This was just one of the bands I liked when I first got into rock music.

Yeah, my tastes have changed since then.

First album I bought on my own, without my parents was Green Day's Dookie. This was after American Idiot came out. Not that I knew that, being an 11-year-old attracted to the pretty colours on the album cover.

First album I ever received was Weird Al's "Bad Hair Day," way back in fourth grade. I just found it in my many CD spindles the other day and put it in my car. It's still hilarious.

The first CD I ever bought for myself was No Doubt's "Tragic Kingdom." I don't think that one's ever left my car.

Jamiroquai - A Funk Odyssey

because it was worth it.
And then I saved money and bought the rest of the discs, it was worth it too.
