This is a thread for one of the most awesome bands ever, and to discuss/talk about them
Like: Should Alan Wilder return? or just to admire them
In case if people do not know them: Ever heard of the song "Enjoy the Silence", since it is their most poplular song.

My Favorite album of them Would be "Playing the Angel" and my favorite song is "A Question of Time"

Black Celebration is one of the most perfect albums I've ever listened too. I'd love to hear a new album from them. Martin Gore is one of my favorite song writers.

Depeche Mode = awesome.
Playing the Angel = just as awesome.

This band needs a huge comeback. It deserves it.

To be honest, I hope it is a sign we don't hear anything of them. That means they are planning something.
Did you knew that they plan a musical around the album playing the angel? It is about two boys which get abused. Sorry did not got more info

My mum's obsessed with Depeche Mode- she used to write a letter to them every week when she was a teenager =P Personally, I find their music really depressing....

I gotta agree, but all of their songs always have a certain message.
It is rare nowadays to find music with an actual message in it

Speak and spell a broken frame.
It's construction time again for some great reward.
Tonight is a black celebration of music for the masses.
101 violators are singing songs of faith and devotion.
And an ultra exciter will be playing the angel,
For the sounds of the universe.

"Enjoy The Silence" is one heck of a song.

I just popped Violator into my laptop and I'm already enamored with the electronic synthesized goodness.

Nearly every song has one; the difference is the message itself and how the artist wants to convey it.

I love Depeche Mode. I saw them when they came last summer for their Sounds of the Universe tour. Their live rendition of "Walking in My Shoes" is brilliant. I like it better than the studio version.

Funnily, the first time I heard a Depeche Mode song was through Rammstein's cover of "Stripped", which is one of my favorite songs ever.

Here is the original "Walking in My Shoes" to compare to the live version.

I really enjoy Martin Gore's song writing. I think it was a move in the right direction when they lost Vince Clark. Their very early work was light, and it took a darker turn then. I know Dave has tried his hand at song writing, but Martin's songs are by far stronger. Of course, he's had more years to refine his craft and some people are just naturally better writers. Dave will improve with time hopefully. His voice is absolutely amazing though. Even when he was young and looked like a huge dork, his voice was extremely deep and powerful.

I think it is funny that in America, Depeche Mode was seen as very edgy and underground, but in England and Europe they were very much a "Teen Beat" kind of band. A boy band, if you will. And that's not me just making stuff up, I saw it in a documentary about Depeche Mode.

DEPEEEEEEEEECCHHHHHHHHEEEE MOOOOOOOOOOODE <33333

My favorite songs have to be "Policy of Truth" and "Just Can't Get Enough".

....am I the only one that thinks Policy of Truth fits the Ace Attorney universe? And would really love to see a fan video done with this concept?

Speak and Spell is an amazing debut album. I bought it off iTunes and saw the short film that came with it.

Martin was really humble and looked cool in the hat. They weren't fond of the cover of Speak & Spell but I still love it.
