I am questioning whether or not this game was a good idea, seeing as the game may take place in the years 2018-2019. Look at the London of Layton. People still use quill and ink for crying out loud!!! (My personal belief is that Layton takes place in the mid 1900s) Yet, Ace Attorney takes place in 2016 and beyond. Even in the opening him and Maya fly in on a plane. I still think it will be fun to play, but that little tidbit will keep nagging me as I play.

Layton is absolutely full of anachronisms on its own. Sure, you've got quill and ink and things like that, but you've also got

Spoiler: Curious Village spoilers
Modern enough technology to create robots essentially indistinguishable from people besides breaking down once in a while.

Your best bet is just to nod and go with it. Besides, the vast majority of the game they're too busy dealing with witches to worry about silly little things like technology. :trucy:

People can totally still use Quills and Ink y'know? Just put it down to a quirk, London being a particularly important city in British History they probably have a few history fans about the place.

That or they are cyber-quills with cyber-ink...because it looks cool and it's more humane to birds.

Given that the trailers showed that Wright, Maya, Luke and Prof. Layton find their way into Labyrinth City through some kind of book, it's not hard to imagine that Layton/Luke enter the book from around the year 1900, and that Phoenix/Maya enter the same book in 2019.

Besides, most crossover games aren't considered canon, so...

I really take spinoffs seriously (Dissidia and Thearhythm come to mind), so I could careless if they take place in a game's canon and timeline (which I barely even bother, could care less for the Zelda timeline, really).
