Self-explanatory; now that the game is complete, the time is now ripe for us to look back upon our cases and see who stuck out to us. For me, my stand-out was Gregory Edgeworth; I've always been a fan of 'proper', gentlemanly characters and Gregory fits this description to a T. It helps too that his theme and overall design are great as well: his theme is my favorite new character theme from the game, and I find that the trench-coat and fedora look is pretty sharp.

So yeah, those are my thoughts; how about you guys? :phoenix:
"No one can change the past. The only thing we can do is strive to make up for our mistakes. Why must we make up for our mistakes, you ask? Because in so doing... we can find the way back to our path. And once we've found our path, we can move on from our past mistakes toward a brighter future."- Phoenix Wright

I think I'll have to say the Big bad. That person was just greatly made. And I thought Yumihiko was hilarious.

Kay

But if we're talking about an AAI2 character and not just a character of the GK series, Yumihiko takes it

Spoiler:
I liked a lot of characters in AAI2. Blaise, Simon, Patricia, Dane, lots of good villains.

Overall I think my favorite character is Ray Shields though. Or maybe Sebastian. Oddly enough I really liked Lotta this time around, loved the fact that she got a bigger role than usual.

I can't fully explain why, but there's something so charming about Rhoda Teneiro.

I agree. She's strangely likable and I felt bad for her more than most other characters with "tragic" backstories

Gotta be Ray Shields. As soon as I saw him enter with that theme song and that walking animation, I knew I would love him. And that clapping animation, god dang.

Can't really remember but in my character ranking list, I think Yew was in my top 10. There were just other AAI characters above her :basil:

If we're talking about characters that are just in AAI, then it would definitely have to be Kay and Detective Badd.

I'd say Gregory Edgeworth and Detective Badd, but they were introduced in other stories and may not count. If so, then I like Horace Knightley. His design is cool, and honestly, he blended the good and the bad. Terrible person, but he was a victim as much as he was a crook. I also fairly enjoyed Raymond Shields.

I know they're rivals in the games, but they pretty much help out near the end.

Yumihiko, hands down. First I found him adorable as well as so ditzy it's almost impressive, it didn't take a long time for me to love him. In case 4 I loved him even more, and I felt so bad for him. Then there was case 5 and my love for him skyrocketed, with him flying up to being somewhere in my top 5 when it comes to AA-characters overall.
Spoiler: 5
I didn't know there was so much more to him than one got to know from the start, the character development was wonderful. I got really, really touched by him, and I admire the strength that he finds.

I also loved...
Spoiler: Villain
Souta was great, very well-written. One of my favourite villains, in fact. I like that they showed the more "human" side of him as well, not just "this guy is evil". That people like him actually can be saved, even if it was far too late in his case and he's done vile, unforgivable deeds, etc. I wish I hadn't accidentally spoiled myself some year ago, because the part when Edgeworth realized who the mastermind was actually gave me goosebumps even though I knew who it was - I would have loved to experience this reveal without knowing anything beforehand.

Young Shigaraki is another favourite, he was just so utterly enderaring. I loved him, and even though I adore the older version of him as well, I liked him even better as a teenager.

Honourable mentions go to Gregory, Shimon, Mikagami and Miwa.

Raymond Shields. His character had so much charm to him. He had me cracking up more then a few times. How about a hug? Sebastian Debeste is close 2nd, though. By the end of case 4 I was rooting for him.

Ah, too many characters to choose from...

Miles and Gregory absolutely.
Ray/Tateyuki is brilliant but as he is currently and as the apprentice. My absolute favourite.
Tyrell Badd.
Lang. Though he needed some time. At first he just annoyed me. It was the same with Franzeska.
Lotta Hart is strangely likeable unlike in her first appearance in PW...
Ema was nice to see again.
Sebastian and Justine needed time. I really didn't like them at the beginning of GK2 but in the end... It was much better.

Raymond Shields is probably my favorite character in the entire game, but Gregory Edgeworth was also quite fun to play as.

Not to mention the final villain, because he was a very interesting villain.

Both Debestes are pretty great alright, but I'd have to say my favorites are Patricia Roland, Simon Keyes and Justine Courtney.
Spoiler:
Roland's an interesting villain and character, plus I loved all the times she'd end up freaking Edgey out :gant: I found Simon Keyes to be super adorable and charming when we first met him in the second case and I think he's one of the best villains in the whole franchise. As for Courtney...I don't know, I guess seeing her motherly side made me warm up to her. Plus it was funny as hell when she'd "overrule" Ray's jokes/flirting and it's nice to see a character as clever and levelheaded as Edgey; she makes a good rival through the game.

what a big NERD
