Okay, so I come up with the idea of this RP while I was waiting for the doctor, which may or may not be a good thing. Note that I've changed the title, so don't freak out! Anyway, here's the idea. Hopefully, no one came up with it already? Anywho...

Congratulations! You have been invited to Chimera School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. This school is a lot like Hogwarts, with four houses and a way to be sorted into them. The differences are in the mode of transportation (instead of a train, you get into a plane that is invisible to muggles, and the entry to it is also invisible. It's kinda creepy, really. The plane is enchanted to have far more space inside than it would seem to.), the way the students are sorted (instead of the sorting hat, this is done by a crystal ball, as would be seen in a Divination class, and when a student puts both hands on it, it shows the symbol of which house they belong to), and the house names (Basilisk, Hippogriff, Unicorn, and Goblin). There are many teachers here who help teach the students how to prepare for the real world, however, dark forces are gathering...

There is an evil wizard who wishes to carry out Salazar Slytherine and Lord Voldemort's work, attempting to kill all muggles and muggle-borns, as well as all who oppose his ways. This character is open, but you'll have to PM me a roleplay sample of 100 words or more, as this character will need to be RPed out really well.

Also, the position of Headmaster or Headmistress is open, but needs to be auditioned for in the same manner. I want really good people to play these guys. And whoever plays the evil one and the Headmaster or Headmistress will need to plot together via PM or on this thread to determine back-story, whether or not they are in opposition with each other, et cetera. It will be a lot of work for whoever wishes to be them, especially since both will be in the background for the most part. They will be doing things not known to any of the other characters.

House information, for those of you interested in joining, can be found right here in the spoiler tag.
Spoiler: House Information
Basilisk: This house is for those who are cunning, but poisonous and snake-like in personality.
Hippogriff: This house is for those who are brave and noble, but also easily angered.
Goblin: This house is for the smart, but stuck-up students and teachers.
Unicorn: This house is for those who are very kind, pure, and innocent, but very passive students. Most in this house are naive and often taken advantage of because of their kindness.

Now that that's out of the way, allow me to show the profile skeleton.

Name:
Age:
Personality:
Appearance: (A picture or 3-5 sentences describing the appearance of your character. If you made the profile before I put this in, then don't worry about it.)
Position: (Student, Teacher, Healer, Elf, or none? Bear in mind that teachers might be asked by the Headmaster or Headmistress to do things other than teach, and that you should mention which class they instruct. Also, if you are a student, you may also opt to be Quidditch Team Captain, a prefect, or a Head Boy. These positions are only for the appropriate year, and are on a first come, first serve basis.)
Year: (1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, or 7th? Only applies for a student.)
House: (Basilisk, Unicorn, Hippogriff, or Goblin? If your character is a 1st year, which house do you want them to be in? Houses also apply to teachers.)
Alignment: (Good, bad, somewhere in-between?)
Genetic make-up: (Pure-blood, half-blood, muggle-born, or squib? You may also be a giant, half-giant, or werewolf, but they are extremely rare, and are also on a first come, first serve basis. Squibs are also quite rare. You could also be a centaur, but if you are one, you'd probably be a teacher. If you're a werewolf, you'd most likely be a teacher as well, or maybe an upper-class student (5th year or older).)
Pet: (Cat, Owl, Toad, or other?)
Spells: (What spells do your characters know? You can use spells from the Harry Potter series, or make up your own, as long as you put the magic words and what the spell can do.)
History: (All students are notified of this school by owl mail, like Hogwarts, so you will need to put that somewhere in this history, if you're a student. If you're a teacher, how did you come to be one? If you're a healer, why did you choose to be that instead of a teacher?)

If you said "none" to the position at school, then you could be a parent to a student, work for the Ministry of Magic, be a member of The Order of the Phoenix, or, possibly, aid the evil wizard. Any combination of two, three, or all four of those things. Please, though, make it clear in your history which one(s) you are. You may also be a Centaur, Goblin at Gringotts, or House Elf that doesn't work at the school, if you wish, but it would be harder to be involved as any of these things.

I'll make the official thread after we have at least five characters. If no one auditions for Headmaster or Headmistress within the first two weeks of the thread starting, I will play him or her, myself, with the option of someone auditioning and taking control of him or her for me. The evil wizard, I will also take if none audition for him.

Now, then, I know this is a very, very lengthy read already, but let's go over the rules:

1. No god-modding. For those of you who don't know what this means, it is controlling another person's character. The most common you will see is someone assuming a hit on a character, or an emotion the other character would reaction at their news. For example, "he punched him in the face" would be an example of GM-ing. Instead, change the wording to something like, "he cocked his wrist back and threw his fist at his opponent, hoping to break his nose". Use words like "attempted, tried, hoped to", et cetera. I will warn you if you are doing so, but I trust I won't have to, right? Also, you can't dodge every spell or hit, or hit every single time without fail. That is also no fun, okay? As for assuming another character's reaction, like saying, "the room went silent", you could change it to "he thought the room would go silent at his news." Every character will react differently, and may not convey the same reaction you'd assume they would, so please don't do it. I explain it like this so there aren't any surprises. If I give you a warning, then you can see how to fix your error right here. If I have to warn you three times, I'll PM you and tell you you're in danger of losing your character.

2. Observe the 50+ words rule. Or, if you aren't sure how long that is, it is about a paragraph. It's not hard to do.

3. If you and another roleplayer have your characters duel, then you should please sort out who will win and with which spell before the conclusion of it. I know it's a drag to do so, but that way, it's not like one character wins every single duel all the time. If you can't settle amongst yourselves who will win, then you may request someone to read it over and judge it. But please be fair and try to judge for yourselves. If someone else's character is more skilled than yours because they're older or have been more exposed to the wizarding world, then chances are, they will win the duel, unless your character has gotten lucky somehow.

4. No flaming. Characters can hate each other and insult each other all the time, but no OOC insults, please. Nobody can have a good time if they feel insulted by others.

5. Keep swearing to a minimum, and keep sex out of the RP. Romance is fine, but if you get to a part where you're getting to sex, kindly censor it out. You may PM it up all you like, but keep it out of the threads. If it is in-character for your character to curse, go ahead and do it, however there are certain swear words that simply would be going too far overboard. If you need clarification, you may PM me.

6. Please check spelling and grammar before posting. It helps your fellow RPers understand you.

7. Have fun!

If there's anything else you think I should add, please let me know. Also, I will create my own characters' profiles later, depending on what kinds of charries I think are needed or wanted. Please, enjoy yourselves. ^_^

Spoiler: Aliucon ----- Cecil Kyriad
Name: Cecil Kyriad

He used to be a pretty happy kid until his magical abilities started to flourish, and he accidentaly, in the middle of him and his friends playing Tag, he pointed to his best friend and from his finger came a silver blast of magic that hit his friend, making him laugh heartily for hours, much like the Rictusempra spell would do. The following days, similar accidents happened whenever he played with his friends, and since then he had his mind set at controlling his own magic properly. Asking his parents how he would manage it, they told Cecil that a school would invite him when he reached his 11 years, and so it happened when the owl coming from the Chimera School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

Spoiler: franini ----- Viola Faraday
Name: Viola Faraday
Age: 15
Personality: Shy, intelligent, but doesn't like to stick out. Rather harsh on herself and a bit of a workaholic, to the point where she rarely does anything else but study. She's not at all a team player but has a strong dislike of breaking the rules because she wants to do well and has strong morals. It's possibly the only thing she'd be confrontational about, as she normally avoids arguments. Somewhat lonely, but she tries not to think about it and tries to cover up her lack of friends by saying she needs to focus on her studies more than her social life. Will rarely answer questions in class except when asked and doesn't speak much to others either, though loyal and caring once they gain her friendship and trust.
Appearance: Long curly black hair, tall and fragile looking, grey eyes. Seen in her uniform inside school but for casual will wear a white blouse, dark blue jumper and black pleated skirt with black pumps.
Position: Student, prefect.
Year: 5th
House: Goblin, but was nearly placed in Unicorn.
Alignment: Good.
Genetic make-up: Pure-blood.
Pet: Barn owl called Athena.
Spells: All the generic ones up to fifth year, but commonly used/specialist: Lumos/Nox, Ferula, Protego, Stupefy, Petrificus Totalus, Aguamenti, Incendio, Reducio febris (fever-reducer) and Episkey (heals minor injuries).
History: Pressured by her parents to attend the school and excel, she was just glad she got her letter though she grew up surrounded by magic and had many indications of the fact she was a witch. She wants to be a healer becuase she hates to see people in pain. She is an only child but not doted on by her parents, who are high ranking officials in the Ministry.

Spoiler: Lida_Rose ----- Chary Guile
Name: Chary Guile
Age: 11
Personality: Chary is very shy and weary of others. She's learned to manipulate to get her way. She is very smart and already knows how to control her magic. However, she has put up lots of walls, making it hard for her to make friends.
Appearance: With porcelain skin and long, wavy brown hair, she could be a model in the muggle world. Her blue eyes convey a certain lingering sadness, and when she smiles, it never quite reaches her eyes. She has some very light freckles, is so skinny, you can almost see her bones, and is of average height. She doesn't really care much about her appearance. Her robes cover the marks left behind from the curses used on her.
Position: Student
Year: 1st.
House: Basilisk
Alignment: In-between.
Genetic make-up: Pure-blood.
Pet: None.
Spells: She knows the three unforgivable curses, but doesn't use them. She is very good in potions.
History: Her father was very abusive to her mother. In the wizarding world, you don't hear much about this sort of thing, because it is harder to prove. Spells don't leave marks, usually. Her father was a follower of the new Dark Lord, and a huge fan of the Cruciatus curse, which he used on his wife on a constant basis to get what he wanted from her. When Chary was five years old, she witnessed her mother's murder. Her mom wanted to leave and take Chary with her, so his dad killed her with the killing curse. Then, he ran away with Chary to avoid the law. They've been on the run ever since.

Chary's father would use the Cruciatus curse on her as a form of punishment, and once in a while, she has felt the effects of her father using the Imperius curse on her when she would not willingly obey him. It was using a combination of the Cruciatus and Imperius curses that he made her kill a few muggles so they could live in their house for a brief period of time. He tried to torture her into doing it, but she still refused, so he used the Imperius curse to make her do it anyway. This is how she knows the three unforgivable curses. She has learned to be manipulative to get what she wanted out of her father.

When she received the letter from Chimera School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, she knew right away her father would not approve of it. Still, she brought up the idea to him, and he said she couldn't do it, almost using the Cruciatus curse on her again. She dropped the issue, but still really wanted to go, so she brewed up a knock-out potion and gave that to her father. Once he was asleep, she ran off to Diagon Alley. Unfortunately, she has no money on her, making buying supplies difficult...

Spoiler: Cold52 ----- James Crowly
Name: James Crowly

Age: 28

Personality: a very calm intellegent person...although cranky at times due to a lack of sleep from a curse.

Appearance: short brown hair, black eyes with dark rings under them, his height and build are average with a brown lether coat, white shirt and black pants.

Pet: none

Spells: knows many curses and the common spells
spells commonly used:Accio, Lumos/Nox, Protego, Legilimens, Locomotor Mortis, Silencio, freazero (a curse that slowly incases the target in ice), freazo (stops the freazero curse)

History:normally his jobs was to help in the capture of those who would misuse magic for ill intent...unfortunately a man who also managed to escape him placed an unknown curse curse upon him...horrendous nightmares plague him every time he sleeps...even leaving signs of physical damage upon him...he knew in his shape he couldn't be doing his usual work...so he too a job as a teacher...the school has also agreed to look into and study the unusual sleep curse.

Spoiler: Slezak ----- Jay and Jeremy Slezak
Name: Jay Slezak / Jeremy Slezak
Age: 22 / 26
Personality: Jay is calm, cool, polite, and jovial. He loves to make new friends and is eager for the start of the new schoolyear because of the new faces he'll see. Always the optimist, Jay usually has a positive aura about him. He has a very witty sense of humor, but when things happen, he can get really serious. Sometimes he can get philosophical as well, which sometimes puts people off (especially when he may occasionally rant during class...) He has such a close relationship to his brother that they both possess a mental link between each other. / Like Jay, Jeremy is calm, cool, polite, and jovial. He's a bit more reserved than Jay is though, so he doesn't use his humor as often and doesn't get as serious as Jay. Jeremy is also quite optimistic and always tries to encourage his students and anyone else having problems.
Appearance: Jay is of average height and weight. He has medium-length curly black hair, hazel eyes, and no facial hair. He likes to wear blue outfits. / Jeremy is a bit taller and a bit thinner than his brother. He has shoulder-length very-bright blonde hair, green eyes, and no facial hair. His color preference for outfits is green. / Each brother wears a silver bracelet on his left wrist which is dotted with glowing blue gems... The bracelets are supposedly the source of the brothers' magical abilities, but nobody can say for certain. Each brother also carries a very lightweight magical staff they acquired from... somewhere, but they can transmogrify it into a wand for teaching purposes, even though the motions are about the same for casting spells in either case.
Position: Both teachers. Since they're rookie teachers, they really don't have classes picked out yet. Jay will eventually teach Charms and will help Jeremy out if his burdens become too much. / Jeremy will try his hand at Herbology, teaching a secondary healing class as well, and also being a part-time healer. / It'll be up to the DAtDA professor whether or not he/she would allow the brothers to do this, but the brothers would also like to teach a bit for that class in their specified fields of magic (see below for those).
House: Both of them will be in Unicorn, even though they almost get placed into Hippogriff. Their kindness and purity shone brigher than their bravery, so the sorting ball selected Unicorn at the last minute.
Alignment: Slightly Chaotic (for Lawful vs. Chaotic), extremely Good (for Good vs. Evil).
Genetic make-up: Muggle-born; gained magic powers through supernatural means.
Pet: None (at the start)
Spells: Jay's specialties are electric-elemental spells and support spells, especially buffs, debuffs, and practical (light, object levitation/manipulation, etc.) spells. Jay has also been doing some research into a new casting format which uses musical melodies instead of spoken phrases. He hopes he can find/invent a "singing" enchantment for his staff/wand to utilize the new technique. (Format of spell-casting will be explained in more detail in one of my posts when I actually figure out how it should work.) / Jeremy's specialties are ice/water-elemental spells and support spells, especially healing and status-effect-curing/inducing spells. He is also dabbling in the melody-based form of casting and is also searching for the "singing" enchantment. / The brothers start out knowing only out-of-universe spells, but will learn HP-universe-specific spells at a very quick pace as they begin to figure out which spells correspond to the spells the brothers know.
History: The brothers have always been fascinated with the supernatural and other things they can't explain, especially magic. Through a series of events, they finally got the chance to test out magic casting for themselves. An errant teleportation spell--that the brothers still can't determine which one of them cast--whisked them away and now they're trying to figure out where they are. Someone nearby sensed the brothers' extremely-potent magic auras and approached them with an offer to teach at the Chimera School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Not having much else to do at the time, the brothers promptly signed the contract with their magical staves (which had somehow transmogrified into giant pens just for the occasion... don't ask; even the brothers can't explain that one.) and, just as quickly as they had arrived, they were whisked away once again, this time into their new residence in this strange world. An owl dropped by with instructions on how to access Diagon Alley, Chimera, and other places like that, as well as who to talk to concerning their newly-acquired job as teachers. Now they must find their bearings and prepare for the schoolyear, which is slated to start quite soon.

Spoiler: bethanyann96 ----- Bethany Cox
Name: Bethany Cox
Age: 15
Personality: Bethany is a sweet girl but has a fiery temper. You wouldn't expect it from her but if you say something that offends her she will definitely let it be known. Very smart and mature with an extremely nerdy side not many know about. She has a lot of friends even though she thinks she is awkward. She is a vegetarian and wants to use her magical skills for a good cause someday.
Appearance: Short red hair in a bob. Bright blue eyes, pale skin, and freckles. Medium height and weight. When not wearing the school uniform she wears a jean skirt, reddish brown boots, and a dark grey sweater.
Position: Student
Year: 5th
House: Goblin
Alignment: Good all her life but has the desire to be bad for once
Genetic make-up: Half blood
Pet: A cat named Ellie
Spells: Standard spells a 5th year would know ex: Lumos, Wingardium Leviosa etc.
History: Bethany was born into a family with only one magical parent. Her mom was a witch, and always believed that her children should embrace their powers. Her dad was very supportive. So when Bethany started showing signs of magical ability they sent her off to a magical school right away. She has been going here since she was a 1st year and has grown very comfortable with her magic. Bethany loves being a witch and knows that she always will.

Spoiler: Franzika Von ehmpke5 ----- Isabella "Penny" Bower
Name: Isabella "Penny" Bower
Age: 11
Personality: Penny is a shy, nice girl. She tries to be friendly to people but usually she doesn't talk to people much, because she's so shy. She's a bit of a crybaby and not very brave. Once she becomes friends with someone she isn't shy around them anymore and she helps them in any way she can. She trusts people very much and she thinks that everyone has some good in them.
Appearance: Penny has shoulder length reddish brown hair that's about the same color as a penny, that's actually how she got the nickname Penny. She has big, dark brown eyes and pale skin. She has a dark purple streak in her hair. She always wears a locket that's shaped like a panda, which she puts on a different colored string for each day of the week.
Position: Student
Year: 1st
House: She wants to be in Unicorn
Alignment: Good
Genetic make-up: Muggle born
Pet: A gray cat with green eyes named Dime.
Spells: She doesn't know any spells
History: Penny used to go to an average muggle school and she lived with her mom, dad, and brother in an average muggle neighborhood. Sometimes weird things would happen to her, because her powers were starting to come. Her parents were worried when they saw the strange things happening and her brother thought she was an alien. When she got her letter for the school she was so happy and excited that she started to float and she hit her head on the ceiling. Her parents were very supportive of her being a witch and they're going to help her shop at Diagon Alley. (Her brother still thinks she's an alien.)

Hmmm..... THIS RP SHALL BE EPIC !!!!!

But first, I want to sort the houses since I want to join the one the mostly resembles Gryffindor.

Hippogriff = Gryffindor
Goblin = Ravenclaw
Unicorn = Hufflepuff
Basilisk = Slytherin

That about covers it, right?

Oh, good idea. I'll edit the profile to add house elves. However, Hungarian Horntails are a type of dragon. You might see them in a specialized tournament, which will be announced to liven things up here at least a week before it happens.

Also, Quidditch rules are going to be slightly different in this school. If there are enough people in each house, in this case, four, interested in Quidditch, then instead of individual teams, each house will be paired with another one for Quidditch matches. Seven to be the team, the eighth to be a substitute, in case someone gets injured during the game. The Quidditch matches will be announced a week ahead of time, so the RPers can decide which charries are on the team at which positions. My suggestion is to make Quidditch Team Captains hold auditions for their teams as soon as the school year starts. Also, we will decide which pairs team will win ahead of time, but how they win can be entirely improvised.

I will edit the profile skeleton to include Prefects, Head Boys, and Quidditch Team Captains.

Well, for spells, if he doesn't know any, just put "N/A". Also, for "History", he'd be about 11 years old, so it could be a short history. Just, you know, put what his life was like before he received the letter to go to the school. Were his parents kind and doting? Really strict with him? Did they spoil another child of theirs, but ignore him? What was his old school like? Was he bullied a lot or popular? Or was he home schooled? There are still many things to talk about, even if your character is only a 1st year. Just use your imagination. ^_^

And almost made them catch on fire because his powers also increased the temperatures by 35 degrees. After begging his parents to let him attend, they finally agreed. Adam now patiently awaits the day his parents take him to Diagon Alley.

((Wow!! This is by far the BIGGEST character submision form I've ever writen!!))

Ummm...Probably about a century. Order has been restored to the wizarding world, at least mostly, and everyone is in a comfortable little lull, which is why Voldemort's copy-cat has waited until now to strike, when it would be the least expected. By now, Harry Potter and his friends have probably died of old age or are too weak to really be a threat to this guy.

Name: Cecil Kyriad
Age: 14
Personality: Usually quiet and thoughtful. A good student, that refuses to say anything while studying or paying attention to classes. Rarely loses his temper, but in turn, his inactivity and pondering about a situation might upset or even put in risk those who are near him.
Appearance: Medium-sized, rather skinny, has long blond hair and wears glasses. Always seen using the school uniform inside the school, but in other occasions, he has a pleated formal blue shirt and jeans coupled with black runners, in order to appear more muggle-ish.
Position: Student
Year: 3rd
House: Goblin
Alignment: Neutral (he finds it hard to define good or evil)
Genetic make-up: Pure-blood
Pet: None
Spells: Alohomora, Locomotor Mortis, Lumos/Nox, Prior Incantato, Diffindo, Ferula
History: Cecil had always been around magic. Little he knew of muggles until he started to go out of his house to play with the kids.

Since then, Cecil had been studying hard to control his abilities. He prefers to learn few spells, but dominate them perfectly, so he will feel safe about using them in a future date. He's now going to his 3rd year, and has done little more than preparing for his comeback to the school.

Wow, I haven't RPed for ages. Please forgive me if I'm a bit rusty :) Wish I could have stayed in the Prosecutor's Office RP but for some reason my login wouldn't work and then the downtime occurred. Anyway... *cracks knuckles*

Spoiler: Viola Faraday

Hey, it's totally cool. There was a whole lot to read in the first post. A small thing like that would be easy to miss! By the way, I'm going to fill out my own charrie now, one of them, anyway. I might make another one later if I feel the need to.

Spoiler: Chary Guile

Also, I am curious, does this school has the same House Point system than Hogwarts?

Yes, it does have the same points system. And I do think it would be best to start in Diagon Alley, then go to school. That way, if there is anyone that wants to join up after we start, it's not like they fall too far behind. Besides, I get the impression from almost everyone's profiles that they're gearing up to go to school, but don't have their supplies yet. ^_^

Yeah, probably right. And even if Viola does have her supplies, she could go for the books and stay in the Leaky Cauldron. (Since her family is pretty rich, she'd most likely have all of the set books anyway.)
I think we're in need of some non-student characters here unless the teachers are universal characters but it'd be more enjoyable, in my opinion, for them to be separate. And possibly some older students (the highest we have is Viola, who's fifth, and I'd like to have her duel (I'm doubting a third or first year would take on a fifth year student unless they were really reckless), unless she duelled with a teacher (highly unlikely unless it was for DADA or something?).
Just suggestions so we can get the ball rolling.

I am in agreement. I'm going to make a teacher character soon so we can get started, if that's needed by the time our mysterious fifth person joins up and our characters have all their supplies at Diagon Alley.

I'd also want at least one person to be in Unicorn house, which is a suggestion for the next person who's joining.

Whatever we need most, I'll put on the first page of the official thread when I make it.

We'd also want the Headmaster or Headmistress to be there when our characters have made it to Chimera School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. If no one has auditioned for him or her by then, I'd temporarily control him/her until someone has.

Well, I could have Viola in Unicorn but I think since she's got that workaholic nature/cleverness/mistrust of others she is more suited to Goblin - however I could fiddle with this if necessary. Are all the classes the same?

Yes, all the classes are the same.

If your character's personality is more suited to Goblin than Unicorn, you shouldn't have to change it. Just wait for our fifth person, who may or may not show up on here in a timely manner. XD.

I'd love to throw Jay and Jeremy into an RP like this, with magic and stuff, since they seemed to do so well in the NJaCG RP (Not Just a Computer Game, for those not in the know)... but they're much too old to be students. Any suggestions, other than kiddifying them? (Of course, doing that might explain why they don't remember much of their past before a couple years ago; something happened to them at this school that threw them back into normal society for some reason... though that would make this RP in the past of their timeline, and I don't know if I like that.)

...I guess they could be teachers/honorary staff-members somehow. Jeremy used to be a teacher, so that could work...

Forgive me for thinking about this so much, but I don't think I could create a new character because my others are so "developed" in my mind. Hrm... Perhaps I could make a new character who's a long-lost sibling/cousin or something. (Jay and Jeremy could still be involved somehow though... perhaps the brothers could be staff and the third character could be a student... Gotta think.)

Ramblings aside, please give me some suggestions. I'd love, love, love to join this.
Thank you for reading. I hope you have a wonderful day.

Well, as Lida has said, we need either teachers/non-students or someone in Unicorn. I'm not really familiar with your characters, so can't advise you on that front really. But do join the party :) (If Lida gives your character the ok).

Slezak! I was hoping you'd wanna join. :D

It's as Franini said, we especially need teachers and a student in Unicorn. I bet Jay and Jeremy would make fine teachers, and I'd imagine if they were both teachers, they'd teach similar subjects, or somehow work in a way to make their subjects work off each other. For example, one teaches Potions, and the other teaches Defense Against the Dark Arts, which are two subjects that normally don't seem to go together. However, the Potions teacher instructs students on how to make defensive potions, which they could theoretically use to protect themselves from those that wish to do them harm, while in Defense Against the Dark Arts, they hone spells to accomplish the same end. That way, those that are better at potions still stand a fighting chance of keeping up in DAtDA, and those that are better at spells can still keep up with Potions. This is just an example, of course. You don't have to use it. In fact, I encourage you not to. ^_^

Anyway, where was I? Oh, yes. As soon as you join up and I accept your profiles, I'll make the actual RP thread! W00t! So make 'em good. :D

Also, I just realized I didn't address how many characters you can have in the first post, so let me say it right here: you can have as many characters as you'd like, however, you'd have to keep the 50+ word count for each character a majority of the time, and you'd have to keep track of all of them. Therefore, it would get quite tedious once you have more than four characters.

Spoiler:
Name: James Crowly

Age: 28

Personality: a very calm intellegent person...although cranky at times due to a lack of sleep from a curse.

Appearance: short brown hair, black eyes with dark rings under them, his height and build are average with a brown lether coat, white shirt and black pants.

Position: Teacher (defense against the dark arts)

Year: n/a

House: (I cant remember if a teacher needs one but none if not needed but if needed Hippogriff.

Alignment: good

Genetic make-up: half-blood

Well alright, I'll make Jay and Jer's profiles now, and maybe come back with a third one if a student is needed. Here we go.

If there is anything I am forgetting or that I should change, please let me know via reply or PM. Also, if anyone has any ideas for classes the brothers could teach (I have no idea what's possible in this universe) please give me some recommendations. Finally, please let me know if the History is okay. It felt a little "unrealistic" to me while writing it, but I want some opinions on if/how I should change it.

EDIT: Classes the brothers will teach have been updated, and a little blurb about the spells has also been added. Should be enough to be accepted now, right?
Thank you for reading. I hope you have a wonderful day.

Hmmm...*Snaps* I've got it! Muahahahahahahaaaaa!!!

Jay should teach Charms class because of the support spells you have listed there! Light, object manipulation and levitation? Sounds like the perfect things for charms~

And if they can transmogrify their staves, then either of them could teach Transfiguration, I'd assume.

Oh, and an option for Jeremy would be, with healing skills, to be one of the healers on staff, to heal students and teachers alike. Or maybe Herbology, where he'd help students make plants that could be used in potions to heal?

Anyway, those are my thoughts on what subjects they could teach.

The history looks fine to me, if a little bit...hmmm...how to put it...like, Jay and Jeremy are always whisked away before they can rest, aren't they? Lol. No, seriously, it's fine, but I'd like it if you'd decide which subjects they'd teach before I accept the doppelganger profile. I could give you a pretty complete list of the subjects that are core classes for students, if you want...which is nerdy of me to say, especially since I wouldn't even need to look it up, but yeah! Lemme know how else I can help. ^_^

Sounds good. That's a big possibility then.

Eh, it's just something they learn to do at the beginning, because they discover all the students use wands. They can't really transmogrify anything else... to start with.

Pretty good idea for Jeremy. He's a natural teacher, so maybe instead of being full-time healer, he'd teach some type of healing class and volunteer to help anyone who came running into his room screaming from being set on fire or something.

Yeah, my characters have a habit of having the most random things happen to them. Also, I'd love a comprehensive list of courses so I could slide my characters into ones they'd be comfortable in. I'd also like it if you knew any sources of info that'd be good to know for this particular RP, such as spells, curses, charms, potions, terms I need to know, etc. Would be interesting reads in any case. (You could just PM those to me or reply in the thread for everyone's use. Doesn't matter to me.) Thanks for the help, and I'll edit my profile once I figure out classes for my characters.
Thank you for reading. I hope you have a wonderful day.
100% pure Joy.
Excellent source of puns.
Refrigerate after opening.

Slezak! Glad to see you around, man. Well, I will try to help a bit, as much as I can. Let me list to you the possible subjects you could teach, as well as a bit of what they involve:

Spoiler: Classes
Divination: Involves all the various methods of predicting the future. Usually, it doesn't involve the casting of spells, but the reading of certain signs that allows you to successfully predict one or many events that are still going to happen.

Transfiguration: Involves changing the original form of any thing, object or person, partially or fully. As far as I've seen on the books, it has a lot of theory involved, so it's not just try-and-get-it-right subject. Still, there are some classes devoted to actual practice.

Charms: Involves teaching a wide variety of spells, charms, curses and other enchantments that change traits of the target, or affects them in some way, usually favoring the caster. It is way more practical than Transfiguration. This subject includes so many possible spells that it's difficult to narrow it down, so if you don't see other classes to cover for a certain spell, it belongs to Charms.

Potions: Involves mixing several ingredients in order to get a solution with magical properties that will serve some purpose. Potions is actually a really hard subject, that involves a lot of try-and-error, but also a lot of knowledge of the general traits of the magical items involved to better prepare these potions.

Astronomy: Similar to the astronomy normal people study. Involves learning the names of planets, stars, their positions and systems. It doesn't involve their influence on the life of people: that is covered by Divination.

History of Magic: Like History to normal people, but focusing on important occasions to the magical society. We might be learning, for example, about Harry Potter and his grandious feats here, if anything.

Defence Against the Dark Arts: Involves the learning of any sort of spell, method or trick to protect oneself against the dark arts, or dark creatures. The definition of dark arts is rather opened, but I'd narrow it down to any sort of spell that is intended to directly harm, injure or cause other undesired or hazardous effects on other humans.

Herbology: Involves the study and handling of all sorts of plants which are possessed by magical properties. Some of them might be useful for potions, others can cure certain illnesses, or produce some substance that is beneficial to wizards.

Muggle Studies: Never shown in the series, but it does exist. Allows wizards to have a better understanding of the Muggles' society, and how to integrate to it, if needed.

Flying: Another which was seldom shown in the series except in the first book, Flying involves teaching the students how to properly balance themselves over a flying broomstick, how to handle and direct the flight, and other things which involve those. It is a requirement for one to play Quidditch.

Arithmancy: Explores the magical properties possessed by numbers. Might relate closely to Divination since the reading of number's properties can lead to a better knowledge of certain events, even future ones. Other than that, it's probably good only to solve puzzles.

Ancient Runes: Probably an equivalent of studying a foreign language, it involves the translation of ancient texts worked at in runes. It might be closely related to History of Magic, for these runes can depict certain past events which are currently unknown by the general public.

Care of Magical Creatures: Involves learning the various aspects of how to properly confront, care or try to otherwise involve yourself with creatures that have magical properties, or that are dangerous even to wizards.

I guess I didn't forget anything there... as for spells, that would be an even longer list. There's a link for reference here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_spells_in_Harry_Potter

I don't think you do need to list EVERY spell you know, in case you're an advanced wizard, so if anyone is making a teacher, they could do like franini and include a number of spells in a group, as to make things shorter. You should list the ones which you either use frequently, or that are made-up spells.

I'll post on the thread soon, by the way. But I wanted everyone to be well and ready before I did.
