they just announced it on the Nintendo Direct - it'll be available shortly after the Nintendo Direct ends.
Not sure if this also applies to Europe as well.

EDIT: Opening cutscene here. not sure how I feel about the voice acting... http://youtu.be/fshr7WG66Kw

I'm fine with the voice acting in the cutscene, but all of Phoenix's new interjections actually make him sound younger than the original ones, which seems incredibly odd to me.

Sam is okay as an actor, but his voice just doesn't Phoenix. He sounds so fat in that intro cutscene... And WTF about Blackquill. I'm fine with him saying "Silence" rather than "Shut it" but it sounded soo lame :/

Yeah I'm not overly keen on Phoenix's voice... Somehow isn't right, but maybe I need more than a demo to get used to it.

Really enjoyed the demo :keiko: Loved how Apollo was there in his bandages and Phoenix was like, Shouldn't you be in the hospital? :odoroki: getting more like :phoenix: <- These guys are really indestructible and ain't nothing gonna keep 'em from court.

Oh and I actually really like Blackquill's SILENCE! Didn't Von Karma used to say the same? Not voice acted, but in his dialogue? It sounds like a evil-prosecutor thing anyway.

Wish the demo had been longer... but at least it's October now.

I have no idea what you mean by him sounding "fat". I'm not saying I don't agree; I'm saying I don't understand what someone "sounding fat" actually means.

Blizdi/XboxDazzle plz...

His voice sounds too slimy somehow xD
I mean, he's a great actor, I really dig his acting, but his voice doesn't exactly fit for Phoenix and I think many can/have already agreed on that.

I am both excited and deeply disturbed by "Silence!"
For one thing, the interjection itself was pretty weak. It could've been "Shut it!", which I would've preferred, but nah. Its voice acting though sounded weird and scratchy to me. Are they going for an old guy here...?

Anyway the demo was really really great. Oct. 24... so near yet so far...

You were warned in the other topic about this attitude. If you have some personal issues with linkenski, handle it civilly and in private. 24-hour suspension.

On topic, I gave the demo a whirl, but after seeing it/playing it in both Japanese and English so many times it's lost a bit of the charm, haha. They've been using some variation of it since TGS last year, after all.

Yeah it came out pretty weird IMO. But I had the same feeling of "WTF?" when I heard his Objection at first and now I like it. I'm thinking it's just a matter of time before that's just how you see Blackquill. It sounds wildly different from his Japanese interjections though.

In hindsight, this is how I reacted to Manfred's deep monster-like "Objection" in PW:AA as well. I'll definitely get used to this.

I played through the demo.
I dunno, it's not that it's bad.. It's just weird hearing Phoenix with a new voice.

I actually quite enjoyed Blackquill's "Silence!" He sounds pretty skeevy, and it's much more intimidating than his "Objection!", IMO.

Anyway, even though the demo itself wasn't anything spectacular, it was pretty fun to see how the game's going to feel. I'm looking forward to playing with the Mood Matrix in particular. I'm just so hyped up and wildly excited for the full game to get here. Three weeks is going to feel like forever.
Now, even if you apologize...I will not forgive you.

I listened a second time and figured the sound-quality of the interjection bits were rougher in that trailer than in the game. It's gonna be perfectly fine in-game I think.

I thought Blackquill's 'SILENCE!' was perfect. Considering how calm his objection is, the difference in his tone and volume really gives a sense of 'oh boy, he's pissed now'.

Mr. Riegel's performance wasn't all that good, however. It sounded way too stale.

It was okay IMO. It was more the actual script that bugged me than the voice-acting. Too many platitudes, but I guess that's how Phoenix is now that he's matured.

Hey guys! What I did was play the English and Japanese trailer side-by-side, with a tiny delay. Listened to Damari na and Silence, observation is that Silence was definitely more menacing and "evil", if you may, but Damari na was forceful and really means that you should shut it because a scary man is speaking. They have their pros and cons. Also Phoenix's Objection and Naruhodou's Igiari are very similar in delivery and tone. Do try it yourself!

I wish his Silence had been more forceful as well, but it's also pretty funny when it's so over-caricaured. It fits the style too and it reminds me of Manfred Von Karma.

He was raised in Germany.

...Next, they're going to say that Blackquill was raised in Japan. "But his name is totally English!" Didn't you know? He comes from a wealthy Victorian English family that currently resides in Japan. Makes sense, no?

No I just came up with this from the top of my head Don't take it seriously

He spent the rest of his childhood in Germany under von Karma's care. That counts.

He was born 33 in his beta stages before the designers decided to make him 24 of course he wasn't 9 yet

linkenski why did you bring this up again He's not British and never even went to England (but that red tea is probably imported). The one who went to London was Nick, of all people.

Next thing we know, GK3's going to take place in London.

Okay, when Nick goes to London, that's in Layton vs. Wright, which is a non-canon game.

Yeah I know he was never officially in England during the previous games but he does have a rather posh accent in his original interjections, which makes it seem like he's characterised to be a bit like a brit in the localisation. I don't expect him to sound awfully british or anything, but maybe just a slight resemblance like some characters from Layton, such as Dimitri Allen (though I'd prefer if Edgey's voice wasn't too deep)

It was never stated to be non-canon, even if it's a bit difficult to fit in within the AA timeline. I'm not saying that PL and AA games are meant to be part of the same universe, but since the developers don't deny it, it goes either way. Besides, the downloadable cases that came after PLvsAA's release have been confirmed to be non-canon.

Plus, it'd be funnier to think that Nick bested Edgey in that sense.

Regarding Edgeworth's British accent...

I think its very possible all the travel has led to him having a kind of strange medley of accents. That's how I think his sound effects all sound, like it's 80% American Accent and 20% British.

Honestly, though, I imagine he won't sound British at all in the game.

There's a term for what you guys are all trying to talk about regarding Edgeworth's voice.
I think you're saying he has a 'received pronunciation". What that is, is it is when you're taught English of a high-upper class, it's in its own category, but people still say "British" because that's where it originated.

I think he should have one, it fits his image, and how he was portrayed in AAI (Which is how I'm sure they wrote Edgey in DD)

One can only imagine why Edgeworth's voice doesn't have a more German dialect; he spent a good chunk of his early life there, after all.

A lot of people want Liam O'Brien to voice Edgeworth, I've noticed, and I'm not sure about that. Don't get me wrong, I'm a big fan of Mr. O'Brien's work, but I'm not sure his style suits Edgeworth.
