He's pretty damn great. Definitely my favorite prosecutor plot-wise.

And...

Spoiler:
Young Blackquill = hawt.

Now, even if you apologize...I will not forgive you.

Although I won't fangirl (mostly because I'm a man), I really did like Blackquill, I found him bloody hilarious, and loved this "Victorian" thing and the use of British terms (not that I even knew half of them) that he had going. Spiffing!

I concur, Prosecutor Weeaboo's way of talking was amazing. I tend to heavily dislike it when you combine two languages in everyday speech, but whenever he started using honorifics I was too charmed by his vocabulary to care. His first 'bloody hell!' was fantastic.

Definitely the best new character in the game, I'd say. Probably followed by Yuri and Juniper.

I forgot about that, that one made him be number 1 in my prosecutor list. (Perhaps a draw with Edgeworth, he's had too many epic moments to lose the spotlight just like this)

Definitely my favorite prosecutor (and character) in the whole franchise. I disliked him when he was first announced, but now... God he's so awesome.
I'm not English. Excuse my grammar errors.

I think I still like Godot and Edgeworth a bit more as prosecutors overall, but I loved Blackquill's style of speech. I agree with the consensus, that first "bloody hell" was great.

Though sadly I can completely see his 'fangirl club' almost rivaling Edgeworth's. Chicks do love them bad boys.

Yes, he's a great character!
I was pretty excited about him when he was first announced. Now that I've see him in action: I like him even more!
He's also pretty sassy, but aren't they all? :wellington:

I was pretty indifferent to him at first. Plus he was kind of a crazy bastard in court like pretty much every other prosecutor.

But... making completely inappropriate jokes at completely inappropriate moments. And then busting up at his own inappropriate jokes. How could he not grow on me?

Oh, and
Spoiler:
it was sweet how he was thinking of Athena from the very beginning, even though protecting her was part of his vow to Metis.

Actually I wasn't crazy about him when he was announced. I didn't like the art for some reason, though I'm fine with it now.

Additionally,

Spoiler:
he seemed skeevy enough appearance-wise to me that I actually thought they were going to double bluff us - that is, that he actually did do whatever he went to prison for.

lol nope

Also, when I saw the Young!Simon art, I was like, "Nah, this man is too dreamy to be a killer." Hahah.

Now, even if you apologize...I will not forgive you.

Thought he would suck when I first saw him.

Wrongo.

Good presence, puts forth solid objections and arguments, sets plenty of traps?

Best prosecutor since Edgeworth.

Not sure if this will count as a spoiler but better to be safe than sorry. This is no plot related thing but just stuff Simon does in trials

Spoiler:
Personally when Simon got the judge to give the opening statement I could tell he would grow on me. Then case 3 happened. "Rubbish. We're going out for a stroll". I cracked up there and then and that solidified him as my favorite prosecutor. And I still have two more cases to go!

That, and Phoenix trying to calm down Juniper by asking her about her hobbies and crushes, are probably the funniest moments in the entire game.

Hey, don't forget that moment when Apollo tried pulling off Nick's hair because Athena suggested it! Case 3 stuff again.

You guys might not have gotten to it yet, but I found the best moment in this game in the DLC case. Whales are amazing creatures.

I honestly thought we would have an AA1 Edgeworth rehash that was in an unfortunate circumstance and a weird bird. Boy was I wrong. He may be a gigantic weeaboo but he's a tie with Edgeworth for me on the top prosecutor spot (I kinda hate Godot, but that's not the point). He fell asleep and walked out of the courtroom holy crap. And in his facial expression while stabbing Metis in the Mood Matrix was priceless. Oh lord

The english version of the game does sound rather interesting.
Is there anyone who can recommend I play the game in English after I finish it in Japanese?

Lol, I saw that on tumblr and cracked up.

Another funny Blacky moment...

Spoiler: 5-3
When you were about to reveal that Robin was a girl, he said something like, "Nonsense! This witness is the epitome of manliness!" Something to that effect. I cackled.

Now, even if you apologize...I will not forgive you.

Oh God I'm dead

I'll agree that Simon's localisation seemed a bit, uh, difficult, but at least he, well, made sense in the end. I also like how he actually spent a great deal of time prosecuting rather than just insulting the defense and saying "NO" to everything.

Damn, that guy is scary-in a good way, that is. I'm halfway through watching case 2 and for now I don't like him personality-wise, but as a prosecutor and character I love him. And his theme music is epic.

I haven't played the game yet, but I already like Blackquill a lot. I think he's a very interesting character, much more interesting than Godot or Lang (even though I like Lang; really the only antagonist in the series I actively dislike is Godot).
I used to have Sam Waterston as my avatar but photobucket added a watermark and also Law & Order has been cancelled for 10 years so it's time for me to move on.

I enjoy Blackquill's character for how ridiculous he becomes when taken out of Japan (British/Victorian/Samurai ahoy). I guess he's also quite reasonable in court without the silliness and pride of the von Karmas and Godot.

Oh, and for other fans of Simon Blackquill:

...Well, damn. That's depressing as all hell.

Spoiler:
Seriously though, during Case 5 I was getting mad vibes that Simon was crushing on Metis too. Though I guess Aura was really the only one confirmed to have those sorts of feelings for her, and having two Blackquills in love with her would have been too much haha.

Spoiler: Whole game
I'm actually really glad nothing happened to Simon in the end, the way Manfred/Godot exited on us.
Rather than always falling back on characters like Edgeworth, Gumshoe, and Maya as being classic uber-unreplacable characters, I'm glad Dual Destinies seemed to be courageous enough to bring in a new cast, and Simon is definitely cool enough to stick around for however long the series still has to go.

One thing that irritated me; did he HAVE a sword in the courtroom, or not?? That is to say, a sword that somehow reaches all the way to the defense bench, minus 1 foot?
I'm gone for so long, and the colors got all psychedelic! Woohoo!

Agreed!

As for the "sword" thing, I'm pretty sure it's just his finger. Which doesn't explain how he can chop off hair and stuff, but hey, Ace Attorney.
