Uhh... Capcom, I really think you shoulda spelled the first part of his name differently. I mean, I'm kinda imagining him at a toilet now. And, uh, I know the second part is meant to be loving, but now I'm also seeing it as "lubing". Awkward.

I'm certain it's actually supposed to be "Peace, love, and understanding", so if you don't relate "lubn" to a single word "loving", but rather to two words "lub 'n", you might actually unsee the "lubing" therein

Eh, I'm sure folks get the pun. But regardless of what it's supposed to be, it still resembles... what it shouldn't.

Pees lube
Peace lube
Pees lube and understands
Understanding piece of lube
Understanding lube of piece
Pees love, understand???
Understanding lube for peace

Ahlbi quite Andistan'dhin, but I can't promise I'll stop with the jokes.

One particular problem I have with the way Janet decided to tackle these Khurainese names is her complete disregard for what sounds good IMHO. It's pretty much Allebahst and Babahl all over again. I know it's pronounced straightforwardly but my brain tells me it looks as if I should pronounce it "AllebaHHHST" or something.

I just don't think these names are cool at all. None of them have a nice ring to them.

I liked done if the Khura'inese names before, but Pees'lubn Andistan'dhin just sounds awful to me. I like having punny names, especially for case 1, but I hate when they make the name sound horrible just for said pun.

Talked to the guy again, he said that Druk is "Dhurka" (or maybe he misspelled it and it's actually "Dhruka") and Inga Karukul Khura'in remains as is. I was a bit skeptical, so I asked for screenshots. Also, Case 2 -> The Magical Turnabout.

Magical Turnabout doesn't durprise me one bit, exactly what I expected.

Dhurka sounds pretty good actually, I like it.

And no unnecessary H's in Inga's name is great.

Ugh, please tell me that there'll be SOME Khura'inese names that aren't copies of their Japanese names or blatant puns.

I thought the whole point of Khura'inese names was to make puns even more blatant than Japanese/English ones. No wonder all those Bokuto Tsuani's and Mima Waruhito's are translated as such obvious puns — they are exactly the same in Japanese. It's a neat loophole for coming up with names — you don't have to look up for an existing punny name to make a Candice Arme or Luke Atmey, you just can make up your own!

Idk, it just makes the world feel a lot more forced in my opinion. With names like Roger Retinz, it stands for something but there isn't an obvious "Oh look, a pun" in his name. If everyone in town is just a walking pun, then the game feels a lot less real and more programmed IMO.

Well the concept of their kingdom does have some things that may be considered really forced, like a court system with no lawyers or a religion which coincidentally happens to be helpful with giving a verdict, etc.

That's...not the point I was going for.

The setting of the messed up law system might feel a little forced, yes. But at the same time, it's used to set up conflict for the story, and it feels natural. If every citizen in said setting has a pun in their name, they don't feel like citizens of the town, they feel like programmed characters.

I'm having the worst time figuring out the pun behind the trio of case 4. Mostly, it just reminds me of that flight attendant from Investigations. Also,
