This is a general discussion thread for AA6 episode four, Turnabout Theater! Please use spoiler tags when discussing any plot points of the episode that haven't been officially announced.
Hi! I've largely stepped back from C-R due to life stuff. Please contact one of the other staff members for help!

Spoiler:
Still take with a grain of salt (I'm not that confident in my Japanese skills) but I believe this is the case in which Blackquill shows up and asks Athena to defend someone and that's also the same case he decides to randomly become the defense's (so Athena's) help at some point.

I don't know why I thought from the Famitsu scans he was supposed to be Nick's help in the Apollo vs Nick little face off, but from the screenshots I saw we're playing Athena while Blackquill is on "our" side so I'm guessing he's assisting Athena. Rejoice Cykesquill shippers

Spoiler: Famitsu Spoilers
If Blackquill was the assistant, then what would happen to Apollo? Blackquill joins the defense mid trial, so Apollo would have to not be with Athena at all.

My initial post got confirmed.

Spoiler:
Apollo is helping Trucy with her magic show (and Nick is probably still in Khura'in) which is why Simon decides to help her.

Case 4 begins immediately with a trial.

The Apollo vs Nick face off is probably for case 5 (and maybe Blackquill intervenes again then, I don't know, but it's clear enough that he's Athena's help on case 4)

I wonder why Phoenix is gonna come back to Japanifornia, and why Apollo will go with him to Khura'in.

Spoiler: About case 4
Looks like a really long court-only case with no real link to the game's main plot. Best combo between Athena and Simon apparently though and it seems the only purpose of this case was to give them some spotlight since it had a lot to do with psychology (as both studied it and introduced it in court in DD).
You have a little summary post here

Spoiler:
That was a freaking long case.
Although it was mostly filler, I really liked it because, as some people said, it's a sorta nice epilogue case to DD.

Spoiler:
Considering Athena will probably have a very minimal role in case 5, this case is actually a pretty good filler case. Even though it has no connection to the main story at all, seeing Athena and Simon together is pretty cool. Also, the main villain's phase 2 and breakdown look pretty good.

So... the best way I can describe this case is "insert case here".

I can understand why they'd want a lighter, less plot-connected case after the ending of case 3, but this is so out there it's kind of hilarious. The case itself feels like they picked a setting/theme (rakugo/soba) and just went with the first murder that came to mind. It's just your run-of-the-mill Ace Attorney case without much of anything to distinguish it.

Localizing the rakugo thing won't be a problem: I've done some research, and rakugo can also be performed in English.

This is easily the best way to describe this case. Not plot related whatsoever, but a solid case nonetheless.

I can't help but feel that this was meant to be a cinematic pan back to japanifornia after Khura'in, like a fade-to-black "meanwhile, at home..." but the problem is how the roles are arranged. If this had simply been
Spoiler:
Athena vs Blackquill without Nayuta it would've felt less forced into the game.

Nope. That would have been way more forced.

It would've been hard to make it not feel forced no matter what.

I wonder if they are going to turn the restaurant into a pizzeria or something like that, or if they are going to maintain the thematic and say that it's some exotic Japanese restaurant with Japanese spectacles made by Japanese immigrants XD

In my opinion, seeing how the localization team will hobble its way through this case will be one of the best things about playing it. I can't wait. They explained that 'back when the first game came out people didn't really know about ramen and that's why they changed it, but by the time of Apollo Justice they could get away with it', so they may leave the lunch boxes and such as they are. I mean, let's not forget, Angel Starr 'imported lunch boxes from the far east because they were such a big hit'.

Even so, for your viewing pleasure:

Nope, it's one, long trial day. It's about as long as Case 2. So 3-4 hours long.

Spoiler:
Probably because of a lack of personnel, tis the whole reason Nayuta prosecutes Case 2; because Edgeworth is doing a cleanout of the prosecutor's office and they're short on manpower.

It's not ramen though, it's soba. Which is quite different from ramen. It's not even made from the same ingredients. And the fact it is soba, is actually quite important throughout the case.

(And as someone who loves his noodle dishes, I really can't have people mixing up ramen, udon and soba!)

I'm just gonna guess they're gonna translate it into a Japanese-style restaurant in a sort of a Japantown area.
Despite the fact that this case is VERY JAPANESE, I'm sure they can do it.

Oh, yeah, that reminds me, but I hope you understand the story isn't set at a restaurant? It's set at a yose, a theater/venue for rakugo/manzai/etc. performances. Susuru was just delivering food.

Just make sure I've got this right:

Spoiler:
Susuru works at a soba shop and was delivering food to the master at the yose? But because they wanted to let Puuka (or whatever her name is) join in on dinner, they made udon instead of soba? And theeen... She killed the master with the udon dough, blood ended up on the dough so she fed it to the dog...? And the character who has DID witnessed the crime (in the little child personality) and rearranged the karuta cards to frame Susuru for some reason?

Is all that correct?
