Yes, I know it's a cute throwaway reference to Edgeworth's first case, but playing through 3-5, it really sort of hammers home that the Onamida case wasn't exactly a positive experience for Edgeworth by any means. So why frame the jacket and keep it on his wall? I would say he keeps it there to remind himself of that case, but in 3-5, he didn't remember Chinami until he went back and looked at the case file. Oh, Capcom...

Maybe he just really likes that jacket? Oops

It is quite stylin'.

Anyway, I would presume it wasn't just that case Edgeworth wore that jacket for; it's possible that it continues to serve as a reminder of his younger days in general, and not just of that one specific case. Or, less fanwankily, good fashion is good fashion and any associated traumatic memories have no impact on that fact, okay!?

It's probably just a momento of his early days in court, not just one case. It represents a rather important part of his life, you could say.

I think it's even more surprising that he doesn't mind keeping a present from von Karma, after everything in Turnabout Goodbyes Detective Gumshoe.

It makes me so happy XD

Well, if you examine the sexy jacket in 1-5, Ema will point out that the jacket must be worth at least 3000 bucks, so just throwing it away to a bucket of junk wouldn't be very smart....

But then again I feel the GS team wanted to include as many references to future games, so they would amuse the fans.

Sure, he got it as a present from the psychopath that killed his father and ruined his life, but it's so pretty~

Eh, he's filthy rich, so if he wanted to chuck it he could. It must have some sort of emotional value to him. What Orca and Raelle say make the most sense to me.

Although, if he liked it so much, I wonder what finally made him stop wearing it or jackets like it...

It was too small for him and was custom made. The guys who made it went out of bussiness.

I think he probably doesn't care about his office and what he puts in it. Including the suit.
Cause, you know, he put gifts from Wendy Oldbag in there.
Or... he cares about both. O_O

Actually, I was more disturbed by the gifts from Obachan that Mitsurugi actually KEPT AND DISPLAYED.

*Al suddenly thinks of a possible Wendy Oldbag / Edgy shipping reference...*

IT BURNS!!!!

On-Topic: I think Mitsurugi keeps the jacket as a reminder of the days when all he cared about was a Perfect Record and thought of himself as a member of the Karuma family. However, we all know that his view of himself as a prosecutor changes after GS1-4... GS:YG Case 5 was sort of a turning point leading to another turning point for Mitsurugi, so most likely he was contemplating on the days when he was "evil" and wanted to change for the better, thus the "suicide note" that the bellboy found during the credits.
