So, I was in a subway station here in Nanjing and there was an advertisement for something or other, featuring a cartoon family. The one who was presumably the father had "PaPa" on his shirt. Now, ordinarily I'd chalk that just down to a coincidence--after all, he was the father or something.

But it was done in the EXACT SAME STYLE/LETTERING/FONT AS NARUHOBO's BEANIE. Seriously. Like, it was absolutely IDENTICAL.

That's one hell of a coincidence >.>

I'll go get pictures sometime this week.

Maybe it's like the Simpsons? Though that is pretty freaky.

Hm....
Maybe it's just some clothing brand...Like in One Piece, how nearly all the girls wear Doskoi Panda.

Or in Rave, where the author creates 2 clothing brands just for Elie, Heart Kreuz (which has something to do with Rave, apparently) and Love Believer.

Moreover, maybe the PaPa beanie is just a tribute to said ad?

...What's the ad for, anyway?

Well... I mean, it's been 7 years, right? Maybe Naruhobo's a 'PaPa' now. Ack

As for the mother, we've got a few options...

A - Maya Fey
B - Older Ema
C - Pearl (While channeling Mia, of course)
D - Franziska
E - Chimani
F - Wendy Oldbag

I still think it might be "engrish" that they put on clothes, which is a fairly popular thing in Japan's teen culture, IIRC. Phoenix could just be doing it to feel younger or something.

Oh, or it could just be to add more color to the outfit itself.

That I'm sure of. I just don't think it has anything to do with anything.
If you come across an older post of mine, sowwy

Normally, I'd agree, and if it were just the word PaPa, it'd be fine.

But it looked EXACTLY THE SAME. Font, color, -everything.-

And I have no idea what the ad was for >.>
