Though if it is an anime/movie and someone fansubs it I really hope they will use the western names in the subtitles :/ I don't care what they are saying but it's just too weird to think of Phoenix being called Ryuichi.

Here are my thoughts.
I HOPE it's not live action. (Come on. Having actors would screw it over completely. The actors woudn't be able to get the voices right, and they'd screw over the hairstyes and costumes.)
I hope it's a one-off anime episode or movie.
I'd hope they didn't make up some new case, rather, replay one of the old ones. (3-5, 3-5, 3-5, 3-5)

I'm rooting for an OVA of some kind, but even a drama CD would be okay--as long as they get translated, because my Japanese skills don't exist yet, and there are pretty pictures.

I spit out my soda when I read that for many reasons.
1.) That's just 2 awesome
2.) that would be a potential job for a theatre student like myself XD Not only that, but it would combine my two distant loves o: Theatre and Video games. Awesomer.
I personally hope it's an Anime`/OVA/Animated movie, but I'm not going to get my hopes up about anything (who am I kidding?). It just better be win and epic.

I'm... slightly fearful about anime/OVA prospects too. I've been burned before by animes based on games... third degree burns, if we want to elaborate(I watched all of Star Ocean:EX and most of the Tales of Symphonia OVA... nuff said.
) That said, I'd be up for a dub, provided it wasn't 4kids; there are a lot more good dubs these days.Actually, I think I'm more interested in what the setlist will be for the next concert!
I wonder if it'll be any different... I'm longing badly for an orchestrated "Distant Traces of Beauty", so I'd love it if they played that~

If 4kids dubbed the anime Dee Vasquez would be eating a corndog, Mia and April May would have an 'I <3 NY' shirt covering their cleavage, Matt Engarde would be drinking chocolate milk and scenarios would be changed along the lines of:
"So Chief Gant, you drugged Ema, Skye, Joe Darke and Neil Marshall with sleeping pills concealed in your fresh baked batch of Junior Mint brownies to give yourself a chance at winning the police department's annual bake off!"
Oh and Cree Summers would be the voice of Lotta Hart but that's not really a bad thing

To be honest, I don't think 4Kids would even touch this. Not because it features people dying and other such 'unsuitable for children' related stuff, but because it'd be an anime about LAWYERS, not something little kids (the age 4Kids aims their dubs at) would be that interested about that kind of thing. (Or so companies like 4Kids would probably think.) If that makes any sense.
Anyhoo...
A Gyakuten Saiban anime, if done properly, has the potential to be made out of 1000 kinds of win.
