All we can do is hope :larry:

but you know...they did start making more of them (because you know how it was discontinued? well i think they put the game back into production, they even made a new (stupid looking) box for it, http://www.dsfanboy.com/2008/09/11/club ... rs-choice/) XD uhmmmm ignore what it says on the orange stripe. But read the beginning of the article. They did indeed make a new box )

Yep, yepyep. They keep the birthday, but not the birth year. I admit that I freaked out at first ("I HAVE THE SAME BIRTHDAY AS A GAME CHARACTER?!?!?!?!") then I read the instructions. Either that or I looked it up on the web.

I hope that the sequal will have a longer mystery than AC:TM. It took a long time for me to figure things out in puzzles, yes, but it did feel kinda short. At the same time, I hope the game makes its puzzles use the Wii to its full potential, as it did with the DS.

Spoiler: Stamps, and not the postage kind!
"HOW DO I USE THESE FLIPPIN' STAMPS?!" *Closes DS to get a snack* Comes back and opens* "...THIS GAME IS AWESOME!"

...Actually, that does sound creepy... reminds me of when I met someone on a forum with the same birthday as me. Same day, same month, same year.

But yeppers, the birthday on the game is from the date on the DS it's played on. Why they couldn't give her a specific birthday, I have no idea. I think it's supposed to give the player the feeling that they're in Ashley's place during the story.

Back on topic, I'm hoping the plotline will be as enjoyable as AC:TM. Let's hope that the plot has something to do with her and not something like Nancy Drew. I like Nancy Drew, but I feel like I want to know a little more about Ashley. I don't know why, but she's an interesting character to play. And the white hair is cool.

On that note, Trace Memory is the only game I know that uses your Birthdate, but does any game use your favorite color?

Back very briefly in this holiday season. I've got two tidbits I've learned from GoNintendo.

First. We've got this beautiful eye Candy. Japanese Box art.

Image

You can clearly see a non-ghostly Man standing next to Ashley, wearing a blue sweater vest. No idea who he is, but I'm fairly sure this isn't 'Flint'.

Next, cross off January 22nd, and circle February 5th. Trace Memory 2 has been delayed in Japan.

It's not much of anything, but here's a screen shot I happened upon that I forgot to post earlier.

Image

Looks like he's selling Chocolate or something for Easter maybe? This could just be me throwing theories out, but any thoughts on him being Bill's son or something?

Tons of new screen shots

http://www.pro-gamers.fr/index.php/News ... ode-R.html

Ashley plays Guitar? Who knew?

Image
Looks like Ashley's Mom plays an important role in this game. Is she playable? Sounds like Flashbacks might be important in this game.

Image
Looks like Dad's put on some weight.... And a sweater vest!

Image
More around lake Juliet, interesting clock tower with the steeple.

Image
Wow, this totally reminds me of the scenes from the beginning of Hotel Dusk with the traffic lights. More suggestion that Ashley's Mom is an important figure.

Sign seems to say "Camp Site", I can't make out what's hanging below that.

Image
Well. That really cleared up what the sign said. And wow poor Ashley.

Image
Image
Same shot we saw earlier of the boy that looks like Bill's Kid or something.

Image
I have no idea what to make out of this shot.

Image
Inside some shack.

Image
Oh CiNG! We gotta love your mini-puzzles!

Image
For ages 6 and up! Fun for the whole family! Parental Supervision Required.

Haha! Videos of Trace Memory 2 in action. We get to see a lot of CiNG's infamous puzzles in action. Also of note, is that area investigation is clearly influenced by Hotel Dusk.

Ashley also seems to like miming the actions she's trying to make for puzzles. I guess that's Cings way of cluing you in on what to do with the Wiimote.

And in the fourth video, you can hear a remix of the Edward's Island theme.

wow..been awhile since I have played this. Seems the ds and the wii has created consoles for all the puzzle makers so I figure that we might get alot more games that contain amazing plot line. Seems all of the consoles are changing...finally the xbox 360 is releasing a ton of rpgs... but got to say I didn't expect another trace memory..got to go dig through my games to go find it again. Can't remember ending.

Oh wow, neat! I guess now we know that that screenshot with two Ashleys probably had something to do with conversation trees.

I'm really liking this move to the Wii. Nicer music, prettier locations, and clearer body language! Maybe we might even see some voice acting in a few scenes o:

wow, some really nice clips.
so tm was about her father and tm2 is about her mother? very original. :P looks intriguing though, seriously. The investigation mode is definitely influenced by dusk, and that's a great thing.

btw, anyone interested in a quick translation of the videos?

Full trailer! http://www.nintendowiifanboy.com/2009/0 ... he-senses/

With all the characters and flashbacks it seems that TM2 is going to be more like Hotel Dusk than Trace Memory. This is actually sort of best of both worlds for me - I really liked Ashley and I'll be thrilled if they make a cast for TM2 as engaging and fleshed-out as Hotel Dusk's.

Official Japanese site is up. And here are the glorious rips. And of course, in no particular order.

Also three short sound pieces.

Also, that trailer you linked to is 'awesome' It really does seem more like Hotel Dusk and has a best of both worlds appeal to it.

I'm really slow, because the thought just occurred to me that we might get a new ghost "R"...

We don't have any screenshots or anything, but maybe they want it to be a surprise?

Maybe R will be Anazar?

Anazar sounds vaguely like 'Another' if you slur it. Sounds like a cue for the 'Another' / 'Trace' Memory manipulator.

And on that note, who wants to bet that Richard gives Ashley a "Lite" version of the DTS?

The character art looks so nice, yet in game it's kind of...not so sharp. Especially Ashely's dad, he got chubby.
But the trailer looks pretty nice, and I love the hotel dusk vibe.

Also, in the dialogue the katakana is "An-aa-zaa" so I wasn't quite sure how that's supposed to be translated. It sounded like they were talking about a name so I went w/ Anazar, but maybe it's the engrish version of "another" ? Still doesn't make much sense in the dialogue...

"Another" was the name of the device Ashley's dad built in the first AC/TM game (TRACE in the US version.)

Famitisu scan fro Trace Memory 2 nabbed from GoNintendo.

From the images, there are two things that catch my eye. First, the 'evidence' of the Crystal Necklace from the trailer reappears. And the kid with the broad stance reappears (With an old english sheep dog).

Something else I've been noticing - the trailer (and now the scan) show places outside of the camp, suggesting this could be a bigger world than Another Code/Hotel Dusk.

Probably...we know there's going to be more than six people, anyway!

If Anazer is a person, and it's a person Ashley and Richard both know, then it they would have to know him/her from before Sayoko died, or after Ashley reunited with Richard. Considering Ashley was 3 years old before her Mom died, I don't think she'd remember anyone from her Mom's circle of friends. If it was after they are reunited, you would think Richard would ask Anazer whatever was on his mind about Sayoko. Unless, in that meeting, Anazer hinted something to Richard before he left.

I don't think Ashley would've met Anazer during her time with Jessica. Ashley didn't seem to know much about her family or their relationships on the boat to Blood Edward Island.

If Anazer is Another/Trace then that would sound like a stupid question to ask Ashley, unless what's really being asked is, did you play Trace Memory or not, in which case it makes more sense.

^_^ I love idle speculation.

Happy 'Not' Trace Memory 2 Release Date. Had things gone according to plan in Japan, Trace would've been out on the shelves today, instead of the 5th next month.
