i don't know, but honestly i thought your spritework was cleaner and more true to how the game sprites look than coyote's
my main issue was with the expressions.

I've finally delurked to say hello and thank you for all the votes and kind words on my Neil Marshall sprites. To all other spriters in the contest: awesome jobs, guys. I seriously wasn't expecting so many votes. I've done sprite edits before, but this is my first time making sprites from scratch. I thought I'd show some progress pics and stuff that didn't make it (sorry, I don't want to start my own topic in the sprite forum because I never post and I just wanted to show these for anyone interested).

Space Coyote - 55% - 17 sprites on display
Greeny - 14% - 13 sprites on display
DJCruithne - 8% - 10 sprites on display
SupwithyouSammie - 6% - 8 sprites on display
HoboPhoenix - 4% - 8 sprites on display
In other words, amount of sprites (on display) has had a significant effect on the
votes - quantity over quality. I also noticed a lot of people don't click on the
sprite sheet links.
...I'm not saying the votes are bad or anything, personally if I had to vote then sure,
the ones with more sprites would look like more effort was put into them.
That and the awesome Neil sprite just so happens to come in quantities. Coincidence.

I think you're looking at it from the wrong perspective. Everyone had the same amount of time, so of course the best spriters would end up with the most sprites done.

It's more impressive to see many animations, or many different sprites, when necessairly it's not much different.
Lets say we see one Apollo sprite before the game comes out.
Wouldn't you rather see 10 Apollo sprites?
It would be more impressive, more indepth with the character.
Now I know this isn't the OC contest, but some may not be voting like that.
