Audition lines
New rule(sunday june 08, 2008):

all audio clips must at least be sent to me and PhoenixTears via email with the title "PW Auditions"

you may also put it on imeem, putfile, youtube, or anything else, but I need a "hard" copy for the youtube Voice Audition videos so people can painlessly watch the character mouth the words as the clip is playing. that way people can evaluate how well the voice fits the character.

if you are sending more then 3 files, then they must be compressed into a zip file or other compression method.

Spoiler: Case 1
Voice Acting Auditions:

??? aka killer:*gasp*...gasp*...
Dammit! ...Why me?
I can't get caught...
Not like this!
I-I've gotta find someone
to pin this on...
Someone like... him!
I'll make it look like
HE did it!

Phoenix :phoenix: : My first case is a fairly simple one.
A young woman was killed in her apartment.
The guy they arrested was the unlucky sap dating her
Larry Butz... my best friend since grade school.
Our school had a saying: "When something smells, it's usually the Butz."

Mia Fey :youngmia: :Wright!
Whew,
I'm glad I made it on time.
Well, I have to say Phoenix,
I'm impressed!
Not everyone takes on a
murder trial right off
the bat like this.
It says a lot about
you... and your client as well

Judge :udgy: :Ahem.
Mr. Wright?
This is your first trial,
is it not?

Your conduct during this
trial will decide the fate
of your client.

Murder is a serious charge.
For your client's sake, I hope
you can control your nerves.

Payne :payne: :Mr. Butz. Is it not true that
the victim had recently
dumped you?

Mr. Butz, what you describe
is generally what we mean
by "dumped."

In fact, she had completely
abandoned you... and was
seeing other men!

Larry :larry: : (It's over!) (My life, everything,
it's all over!)
(Death! Despair! Ohhhh!)
(I'm gonna do it,
I'm gonna die!!!)
Nick!!!
Dude, I'm so guilty!!
Tell them I'm guilty!!!
Gimme the death sentence!
I ain't afraid to die!
Oh, it's all over...
I... I'm finished. Finished!
I can't live in a world
without her! I can't!
Who... who took her away
from me, Nick? Who did this!?

Note: lmao Have fun with this.

Sahwit :sawit: :I was going door-to-door,
selling subscriptions when I saw
a man fleeing an apartment.

I thought he must be in a
hurry because he left the
door half-open behind him.

Thinking it strange, I looked
inside the apartment.

Then I saw her lying there...
A woman... not moving... dead!

I quailed in fright and found
myself unable to go inside.

I thought to call the police
immediately!

However, the phone in her
apartment wasn't working.

I went to a nearby park and
found a public phone.

I remember the time exactly:
It was 1:00 PM.

The man who ran was, without
a doubt, the defendant sitting
right over there.

Also, I COULD be Co-Director, I suppose, but I'm not really one for the top rung of the ladder, you see.

Here's my audition for Winston Payne (basing the voice off of his "Objection" voice): http://media.putfile.com/Phoenix-Wright ... ston-Payne

Also, I decided against doing Larry merely because I really dislike the word "dude".

just for future reference and in my opinion, the "it says alot about you... and your client as well" line should be a bit more spaced apart. what do you think PhoenixTears? anyway I'll post the video sometime today for rating.

By "Hard Copy" Do you mean like the audio file of the video?? Because if so then I'll have no problem in doing so when I submit my VA Audition.

For a while I was confused when I read that part, I thought I had to actually make the audio then painstakenly synch my voice to the characters mouthing animation to prove if I'm worthy ^^;;; I wouldn't mind doing so, but I would think that its a waste of time to do such pain staking audio to sprite synching and not get the part ^^;;; Anyways I'll post my audition in a little while.

OK, here is the link for my audition: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-FeJ_NkMlV8 And, I've E-mailed the proper person the hard copy of the audio.

;D Why thank ya! I might work on it more today. I figure for the animation, we can draw out most of the cells in photoshop and then place them in frame by frame in flash. It should give the whole thing a more organic feeling. That and I'm not very good with flash's tools :p! :edgy:

That could work, but the only thing that could be a problem is how much memory it'd take to make every frame of the thing in Photoshop and then putting it in Flash. The good thing about Flash is that if we do everything in it, it's IN Flash and since it's vector, it doesn't take up nearly as much space. Well, maybe not a problem, but it'd be slightly annoying. If we saved all the images as PNG, we can import with transparency in Flash, I think. But PNG isn't very compressed. x.x Well anyway, my 2 cents + yarn. Ooh, nice animation, by the way. :keiko:

Thank yas ;D Maybe what we can do instead is draw out the sketches for the frames in PS, then do the inking and coloring in Flash, that way we can delete the underlying sketches and save space that way.

In terms of the animation, we need to decide who will be in charge of what when it comes to the actual end product. We also should work to figure out how to get the style to translate well. Shouldn't be too hard :o! My email is reizvollschuldig@gmail.com, so if you want we can sort of bounce things off each other there if it'd be easier D:!

XD That'd work. XD;; But it seems like you just have a thing against Flash. Haha. ^_~ It seems you have a tablet though...Flash 8 can use the pressure sensitivity and stuff, so it's not as hard to do sketchy-kinda things in it.

Hmm, I think for the animation, we can all work on a storyboard together once the writers come back from the depths of deep space or wherever. Then I think we could have someone doing the keyframes, someone doing the inbetweening, and then someone coloring [assuming we have a teeny team like we have now]. Or we could have someone do keyframes and inbetweening, someone doing background art, and someone coloring. Or just...keyframes/inbetweening + backgrounds. XD;;;; Do you have AIM or MSN?

why not colour in photoshop? would the pictures really be hinderingly huge?

here's a thought for the storyboarder(s) maybe instead of a normal storyboard, why not try to make kinda like a manga storyboard. if you're already doing that then awesome.

Last night was my last night at Massage school, while the next couple weeks might still be a bit busy for me, it still means I'll have a net gain on my free time.

I'll try and send in my auditions, also, do we still need writers? (PS I'll comment on the objection dance when I'm at a computer that will let me see moving pictures *Pout* Dang work computer.)

we need basically everyone right now. just ask Ayasato-chan or Hakuro or Gerkuman for a piece of the script.

Raster image files can get big...my Photoshop files [the actual PSD files] are usually over 1 MB, and can get to be pretty big. That and if we assume every JPEG/PNG/whatever comes in between 100 - 200 KB and we have lots and lots of frames, that could get pretty huge. And I don't like throwing out the PSD files cuz if we need something recolored, we'd still have the original PSD with the layers and stuff.

And manga storyboard? XD; You mean...make it kinda like a comic?
