Really? I thought the Cadaverinis, at least, were going to be mostly evil, with maybe an exception for Viola. Just because their enemies are demons doesn't make them saints.

Also, since someone should mention it... in trying to find a greater place for Lydia, we're considering making her part of the Cadaverini family, probably a cousin of Viola's. Personally, I really like this in light of the Cadaverini-Gavin family feud, since it puts tension in Lydia/Konrad a la Romeo and Juliet. Though hopefully this wouldn't end with everyone dying.

In trying to work out this family tree, I think what works best is if Viola's mother is a Vasquez, sister to Dee. Dee is thus very close to the family, particularly to Viola, but Bruto can easily see reason to cut her out of the inheritance. On the other hand, Lydi would probably be the child of a sibling of Viola's father, making her an actual descendant of Bruto - a mob princess, though she's far better suited to the "princess" part than the "mob" part. I see her cosplay as thus being a sort of escapism, fueled by the family voodoo, allowing her to assume different roles and live life without always having "mafiosa" written all over her.

In light of this, and based on Lydi's design history, I think I'd really like to see her natural hair color be maroon, and she starts dyeing it pink, possibly after meeting Rocktra.

But..But..But, The dying at the end of Romeo and Juliet was like what made it famous. Without the death, it was just another long, drawn out, hate/love story. Can we kill just a little, please? Maybe fake a few deaths for a better purpose? :garyuu:

Something seems a litte out of place with that concept of Dee and the written out inheritance. I'm pretty sure the only way Dee would have gotten some of the inheritance is if Bruto/Dee's Sister (Maybe Tanpopo from the special Promo manga?) had it written in. And why would they do that if they love Viola so much?

I'm not a lawyer but from what I understand, Inheritance usually goes to the Marriage Partner first. If there is a problem with the Marriage partner (death for example), then it's left to their offspring. After that, it goes to the other kin and family. Of course, this can be changed with a Will. :keiko:

Then again, this a Mafia family, so I don't know if the standard Inheritance still counts.

As for Lydi, I have a question. If she's a descendant of Bruto, wouldn't she be sister/cousin to Viola and could possibly end up fighting for Bruto's affection? :yuusaku:

That's what I meant, pretty much, though I guess I put it the wrong way. No matter how close Dee can be to the Cadaverinis, she's not really a Cadaverini herself by blood or marriage, just sister to one who married in. Thus, no matter how much she might want what Bruto passes on, it's going to Viola and, depending on how this turns out, maybe some to Lydi as well. Hence I suspect a potential for jealousy. Capisce?

Yeah, I'm assuming that she's Viola's cousin here - though it'd be possible to make her a Vasquez rather than a Cadaverini, I think that making her closer to the main family creates more tension and drama for her scandalous friendship with a Gavin.

I'm not sure if Lydi would be that interested in Bruto's affection, personally. Though the close, proper, refined family seems to fit, she seems like she'd be a black sheep of such a family - or, um, a pink sheep, given the rest of the family dresses in black - and might be more interested in a way out of the mafia rather than to establish a strong place in it.

Hi there! I'm a fan of Super Makoto, and I'm liking all the progress you guys are doing! :edgy:

But, seeing this topic and the old topic have give me some questions, is there some problem if I ask them? :udgy:

If the answer is "no", then , if there is no problem, I'm going to ask them now. :bellboy:

But first I'll apologize if one of my questions is too dumb or too obvious, or even a question that have been answered before ( I'm not an observant person, so there is the possibility that the answer to some of my questions is in the post before mine). :larry:

So here goes:

- Where is the rest o the people that were working in the series? I mean, Yuu-chan, CantFaketheFunk, etc. The last time I saw posts regarding the project that belonged to them was in a very long time ago. :eh?:

- The fact that I'm a fan prevent me for putting some suggestions or ideas here? Because I see that some characters don't have a "solid" story in Super Makoto ( I mean, Shelly, the Gramarye Troup, etc), and there is some "old" things in the project that I will be glad to discuss ( like all the Matt x Makoto thing, Godot, etc); so I was thinking for a long time on the possibility that maybe I could help you guys in something. :payne:

- I see that Lydia have a big participation in the actual Super Makoto ( not so big compared to the "primary cast", but still...). So that is an indication that the "major" OC's will come back? Sorry if I'm bringing this polemic matter in discussion again, but I see that some of the "old" OCs had their original roles been reduced ( like Moonlight Angel), or had even been "deleted" ( like Shanon); and the fact that ( even after that big discussion about the OCs in the old topic) Lydia still have a big role compared to the other OCs ( well, at least in my opinion), and the fact that you guys are ( at least in my point of view) really serious about the idea of putting another OC in the series ( Pie) is really confusing! :meekins:

Well, that's it, sorry for the excessive number of smiles or some nasty erros of spelling. And sorry again if one of my questions is much dumb/obvious/have an answer already. :payne:

And thanks for the patience! :keiko:

We welcome all questions. There's a lot of ground to cover in Super Makoto, so the best thing to do is ask questions. You can get answers a lot faster if you ask the project members directly, or even bring something to their attention they may have forgotten.

People who have contributed to the project are listed in the first post of this thread as contributors. If they have since left the project or are no longer contributing regularly, they are not included in the "current project member" list. We have a similar listing on the wiki.

A lot of our ideas come from outside sources, and we always invite people to post their ideas and feedback here in the thread. Even the strangest or least compatible ideas may provide future inspiration for the project down the road; we've recycled and revived older concepts, and are constantly reworking what's already been laid down.

It is, isn't it? The fact is, we recognize that original characters (OCs) can serve a very important role in SMako. Ace Attorney is a video game series that is built upon a large, colorful cast, and adding to it can supplement its strengths. At the same time, this means we must hold them up to very high standards to make sure they contribute everything they can to the story and environment. This means some OCs may be removed or abandoned if they don't ultimately meet our expectations.

You can read more about our OC policy here.

Well, I'm going to sleep, but I'm very happy now that I know that I can contribute with something in this project. Maybe tomorrow I can post some of my suggestions! :edgy:

I thank you again, Boron, and I hope you and the other guys like my future suggestions! :edgy:

A brief summary of recent discussions and developments.

All In The Family
While we continue to work on the Big Fat Mafia Story, the Cadaverinis have seen some considerable updates and development. First off, Viola herself has spearheaded the changes as "Belladonna", coming into her own as a full-fledged witch, though considerably different from her earliest incarnations in the project. Her magical powers focus on fire and plants, in particular the intelligent "Charley" that arms and armors her through thick and thin. Secondly, this has led to the entire Cadaverini clan being brought into the witchcraft tradition: Bruto himself has become a practitioner of black magic, and even once summoned a succubus into the world (but that's a story for later). Dee Vasquez is now an aunt, the sister of Viola's mother, and herself a witch, though her means and intentions are decidedly darker and more dastardly. With Viola set up to inherit the Cadaverini legacy from Bruto, Dee has befriended Viola in hopes of getting a piece of the pie. And last but not least, there's a new addition to the clan of little corpses: Lydia Cadaverini, a young cousin of Viola's, the rambunctious "pink sheep" of the family that dreams of a fanciful life outside of the politics of the family business. Her cosplay-based superpowers are also fueled by the witchcraft in her blood.

Brawl In The Family
And what a scandal Lydia has gotten herself into! Cavorting around with that Konrad Gavin fellow, and his feminine alter ego Rocktra, too... don't they know that Konrad's mother is the sworn enemy of the Cadaverini clan? Yes, Troia Gavin was the same succubus summoned into the world of mortals by Bruto himself; she summarily rejected his attempt to control her and went about her merry way, eventually settling down with Mr Gavin and vigorously spawning Kristoph and Konrad. Interestingly, these hellspawn all share the strange ability to genderbend.

OC Alert!
Wait, who's Troia Gavin? Yes, suffice to say, the past week has seen not one, but two Original Character additions to the cast of Super Makoto! Troia Gavin herself is the mythical mother of the Gavin brothers, but this second concept, "Pie" of Interpol, is a mystery yet to be solved.

Issues with Interpol
And speaking of Interpol, it's a good thing Pie was around to take up Valerie Hawthorne's old ID number: Valerie was caught up in a vicious scandal that compromised Interpol's security, ending up with her "disappearing" and her associate Terry Fawles being jailed. Terry himself has superpowers, too, you know; he's pretty much unbreakable. Romein LeTouse could use a power like that...

Starving for Art
In recent discussions, it's come up that a lot of characters need concepts and artwork in general. If you want to contribute, look at the list in Pie's post for an idea on who needs some love, or browse the tags in the SMako Photobucket.

And Speaking of Art, A Brush With Fate
Misty Fey has begun to make appearances in SMako's developing storyline, this time as the original magical girl hero who revolutionized the Kurain Spirit Channeling Technique to combat the forces of evil, in particular the vile Emperor Manfred von Karma back before he had an empire! She teamed up with such personalities as Gregory Edgeworth and Lightning, but has since retreated into hiding after being disgraced in public. Little did she know that Redd White and other nefarious villains had conspired to organize her downfall and send her into hiding. Many years later, Misty Fey, as an artist by the name "Elise Deauxnim", learns of Super Makoto accidentally through her former pupil, Larry Butz, and crafts the Celestial Brush for the young heroine, in hopes that she will paint a brighter future for the world.

Super Makoto has kinda been like a "look, don't touch" kind of topic so far for me, but with those shiny new updates, I though I'd try posting :gant:
I really like what's being done with the mafia characters, especially Dee <3
But all of these characters are interesting :]
Also, if you take fan suggestions, I think it would be neat if Dandee or the Komoris from the various PW manga were to make appearances~

We're currently developing the Mafia plotlines and have found there actually aren't so many potential Mafia characters. If we need more characters to fill in roles, we may end up doing just that. Who knows?

Just some thoughts: a Mafia family isn't necessarily all related by blood (See: crime family). But given their family has some deeper secrets than just organized crime, it makes sense to put a particular note on who's a part of the Cadaverini blood family versus some associates who might be in the Cadaverini crime family but not related by blood.

But yes, I'd love to see Dandee in this - even though, admittedly, I know almost nothing about her. From just my experience as part of an Italian family, though, and from what's known about the structure of a Mafia family, the Cadaverini clan seems small even with Dee and Lydia added to it. I'm working under the assumption that the Cadaverini family is larger than it looks, we're only seeing some of the more significant members. There isn't much need to name every Capo...

I really ought to read more of the manga.

By the way:

LEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET!!

Sorry about that, Stronger then myself.
Things are looking great as usual, the only remark i have is the lack of images in the wiki.
Even if they were just mugshots, it would give the thing another feel.

Yeah, we're being quite cautious about the mugshots we pick. I think we've kinda forgotten that it's easy to upload a new one over the old one.

Well, here I am!

About the art thing, I would love do some of the necessary images!

If I could draw like a normal person, and not like a monkey with excessive amounts of coffe. :payne:

I'm really trying to learn how to draw decently, but until I learn, sadly, I cannot contribute with the art for a long time.

So, sorry if I can't contribute with all the art thing. :sadshoe:

But because of that, I will try to do my best in other things related to the project! :edgy:

Spoiler: Suggestion about Juan
Well, some time ago, I was looking the informations about Juan Corrida in the wiki, and the things related to him serving Manfred and all. I then saw two parts in his info that intrigued me.

"Juan dons special mechanized power armor..."

"Juan's weapon of choice is the unique Gitaroo..."

So that's means that he uses his Jammin' Ninja suit and his "guitar" as a weapon, right? Because I remember that, some days/weeks ago, this piece of information was not in the wiki ( or it was me being very dumb :payne: ), so the question "Juan is going to use the Jammin' Ninja clothes and "weapons" ( in the case, the guitar)?" was in my head for a long time, so I wanted a confirmation, if there is no problem.

And some time ago, I saw an art piece of Juan with Adrian, and I saw him with an eyepatch. The vision of the eyepatch gave me an idea ( if he is going to use an eyepatch. Maybe the guy who made the image decided to put the eyepatch for humoristic reasons, who knows :meekins: ):

This could be a very dumb suggestion, but, in Justice For All, we clearly see that Juan loves bears, right? So, maybe, you guys could put an image of a bear in his eyepatch ( we could put the imagem of a "evil bear of destruction", for some cool results, or the image of a "smiling bear of happiness", for humoristic results; I think the smiling bear is better, but it's not a thing that I can decide alone.), like a manner to "demonstrate" his love for bears. :garyuu:

Spoiler: Suggestion about Gregory ( and Edgeworth)
I checked the wiki some time ago, and I saw the information about the transfomation of Edgeworth in a werewolf as a result of Holy Trinity experiments. But I was thinking in something:

What if you guys make Gregory the test subject of the experiments instead of Edgeworth, and make that his powers had been "passed" to Edgeworth ( maybe thanks to genetics?)?

I checked tha information regarding the death of Gregory, and the idea of relate it to all the werewolf thing was in my mind for a long time. So I had this idea.

A very "rough" idea. It don't have much more thought with the excession of it "base" :payne: , but there is ( note: I'm putting the info that Boron had added; about Gregory, Elise, and Lighting fighting against Emperor Manfred Von Karma; and the possible old theory/fact that "Edgeworth doesn't want his powers and search for a way to revert it):

After the SL-6 Inciddent, and the dissappearence of Elise, Gregory was unable to prevent the rise of Emperor Manfred von Karma. Emperor Karma, knowing that Gregory now was unable to fight him, send his ( insert bad guy of choice here) to capture him, and use him as a test subject to the Holy Trinity, with the specification that Hotti and friends had to transform Gregory into the most monstruous and hideous thing ever. With this, Emperor Manfred could not only take revenge about all the trouble his enemy has done to him in the past, but take advantage of the situation and use this as a "warning" to Elise and any possible adversary ( like "hohoho look what I can do with this guy IF YOU COME ANY CLOSER I WILL TRANSFORM YOU INTO A CAMEL ARE YOU LISTENING TO ME1" or something like that :payne: ).

Of course, Hotti and friends don't had a lot of creativity, so the most "monstruous and hideous thing ever" that they done with Gregory was to transform him into a werewolf, and not some monster with seven eyes and that expels intestines with his mouth.

Continuing; then, Gregory was transformed into a werewolf. Gregory thinked that he would be like this forever, but with time he learned how to use and even how to control his new "powers" ( Holy Trinity Quality Seal :hotti: ), and in a matter of time, he was a very normal person living a very normal life again.

And then he finds his future wife, marry her ( :yogi: ), and have a very healthy and normal child and lived a happy life forever and ever.

Or not.

The problems began when Edgeworth begins to show signals of lycanthropy. With this, it was a matter of time until Gregory suspected that young Edgeworth adquired his "curse".

But then the suspection transforms into actual facts when he see his son transforming into a werewolf ( maybe in a scene that young Edgeworth is bullied by some random guys and then in the next second start to eat their heads or something like this, to make some DRAMA and all :yuusaku: ).

The things get worse when Gregory starts to lose the control of his "curse", and some time later, he starts to transform into a murderous and violent beast, without the hability to revert this.

In the end, to prevent him from hurting the ones that he love, Gregory decide to kill himself ( maybe in a very dramatic way, and maybe in front of young Edgeworth eyes. DRAMA and all. :yuusaku: ), and some time later ( maybe some seconds later), the mother of young Edgeworth take her life too ( maybe because of the shock or the fact that she will never live with her sweetheart again; or maybe because she discovers that she married and had a child with someone who looks like jumped out of Altered Beast, the decision is with you guys).

Young Edgeworth, traumatized because he just saw his parents killing themselves, grew and become the Edgeworth we all know. Now, he wants to discover who was the responsible for all the suffering that he had to endure, and a way to revert his curse once and for all.

This suggestion could give Edgeworth motives to fight alongside Makoto against Holy Trinity and Emperor Manfred in their respective arcs.

So, what do you guys think? I know they aren't that "OMG SO EPIC I LOVE IT S2" type of suggestion, but... :payne:

Yes, Juan uses a 'gitaroo' as his weapon. It creates sonic waves via guitar shredding. His armor is indeed based of the Jammin' Ninja suit, and at this point in the timeline he is the Army General for Emperor von Karma.

I was the person who drew that picture, actually, and it wasn't for shock value. Many years before the current timeline Juan kills Celeste, but she ultimately teaches him a lesson by attempting to blind him. It didn't work and only one of his eyes is bad now. As far as the idea of loving bears go, we haven't discussed it too much but I personally have an idea myself-

Spoiler:
Image

Before Celeste went against the Emperor she and Juan got married, so that she could adopt a child (that child was Adrian Andrews). She would give Juan gifts over the span of their 5 year marriage, one of them being a toy bear. Part of his clinging guilt, in the current arc, was the fact that he still has the toy bear she gave him.

Eyepatch ideas and whether he should just replace his eye is still to be discussed, whether it be significant or not. Another pitched idea was a spy camera in place of it, reminiscent to 2-4 with his constant spying on Matt and visa versa.

As far as the other part, with Gregory possibly being a werewolf himself, I can't say on that. I don't work on that fray of the plot very much (my main discussion and working points are the Fey family, the part of HT concerning Mimi, Celeste/Juan/Adrian, Hobocop (or at least his support crew, Lisa and Glen.) and so forth).

My main problem with your proposal on how to make Gregory a werewolf is that it's completely out of the order of events of the plot - Misty's disappearance is supposed to be an indirect effect of Gregory's death, and SL-6 was years after that. But there's other ways to make him a werewolf. Actually, Bee and myself were hoping to stop making people have origins at HT - there's too much there as it is - and Bee has actually been thinking about separating Edgeworth from the hospital.

Which makes your base suggestion a very interesting idea - making Miles be a werewolf by inherited genetics, rather than having him be an experiment himself...

I think that the camera and the bear are great ideas. I think they will add a considerable amount of history to Juan, and they make two refferences about his "canon" history/personality in Justice For All, too. :edgy:

Based on the info that you gave me ( about the "Gregory being a werewolf is out of the order of the timeline" and "we want to take stop making people have origins ate the Holy Trinity"), I think that tha idea of Gregory being a werewolf, but without all the Holy Trinity thing ( maybe by inherited genetics like you sayed; or the result of the bite of someone who was too, a werewolf), is valid ( or not :payne: ). Primarily because of this question:

If Gregory is fighting against Empreror Karma, what powers he will have? :yogi:

I mean, Emperor Manfed is extremely powerful. So powerful that a girl that break the law of physics can't fight against him alone and he is the villain fo the last arc ( and we all know that: villain of the last arc = the most powerful villain, but there are excessions. That is not the case of Emperor Karma).

So, in the past, Elise, Lighting and Gregory had fighted against him. Elise had some awesome spirit powers, and Lighting had all the powers that he had in the time ( that isn't little thing if we take into consideration that he is a villain of a major arc; and that, in the time he was a "hero", he was the commander of one of the best crime-fighting teams of the time). And Gregory had... well...

With all the "Gregory is a werewolf" thing, this could "fill the hole" ( if we could call this "hole" :yogi: ) of this part of the plot.

Spoiler: But still...
The ideia of three guys doing "damage" to the most powerful villain of the series ( until there is more developement after that), is... "strange", because I don't have a exact word to describe this.

I was thinking about that, and I could not stop relating Magnifi in this. Really. Maybe the addition of Magnifi could help in this question. Of course, if this works, then will be four guys doing "damage" to the most powerful villain of the series, but still...

Or we could go even further:

A very stupid idea, but what if you guys add Drew Ese in all this? You know, the adopted father of Makoto?

What if he, in the past, was a super guy with awesome/powerful super powers, but something happened and now he hide his powers/don't have his powers anymore?

"But, if he is some of the guys who fighted against Emperor Karma, then Franziska would have some problems in giving Makoto to him. Emperor Karma could find her in a second!"

Well, then there is three options:

1: Maybe he faked his death. Someone did this and worked, so why not?

2: He "disappeared". Two people done this and worked, so why not?

3: Forget all this because it's a very dumb idea. :payne:

Alright, then, if all of this works, there will be five guys doing "damage" to the most powerful villain of the series. :edgy:

Or maybe we could submit to madness and add The Judge in all this. Wait, waht/ :udgy:

"What I'm Doing On The Wiki Now" Update: Timeline has been updated with everyone's approximate birthdates. Maybe now we can get some idea of how events fit into this, who is what age when, etc.

... we have a lot of characters who are 32. :eh?:

The arcs are pretty much all under construction, I'm afraid. It's a lot of long-term plot planning that so far we've only got fuzzy ideas about. As a look at what we've got so far...

The project is divided into three arcs of focus: Backstory, Current Arc and Future Arc. Backstory is what's most under development right now, because it's hard to build the Current Arc without knowing the setting behind it. Future Arc is basically "don't think about it yet".

Gant's Arc is the first story arc of the Current Arc. It's the only one with any sort of solidness. Not even started, but set as the final arc of the Current Arc (to define what Current Arc is), is Karma's Arc.

There are assumed to be arcs in between, but we haven't decided what those are...

By the way, I've been trying to add more images to the wiki. For example, check out the Super Makoto Project page. More than just a wall of text now!

We're going to need some images to flavor the section summarizing the new thread, however. I'm looking for good images that prominently feature Makoto or that have a lot of characters in it. So, if any of our artists want to try drawing something that would work well for this page, go for it!

Hmm...I could draw images for the Fey Family sections (including the Spirit School of Channeling and Destruction of Kurain).

I've also been going on a journey of image adding. Few character profiles so far have a profile image for their info box (Alita Tiala, Pulsar, Lotta Hart, Mia Fey and Cody Hackins). Since I've fallen ill today I'll be adding some more profile images, along with other things~

Here is a category of character pages that do not yet have images for profiles. Feel free to draw some nice pictures of these characters!

So So so. As faintly I recall from a recent Pchat, in the wee hours of the morning, Bee and Pie and I discussed Makoto's super suit. WHY? because she's the title character and she doesn't even have a solid first outfit. If you've taken a look at the Super Makoto tag in our photobucket you'll see how many different designs have been pitched, but we all can't agree on one. (This could possibly be my fault.)

The current (I guess?) design was a loose adaptation of Yuu's bunny ears super suit which was toned down IMMENSELY (and thankfully). At some point, I was like is Mako's design final because I want to come up with a design blah blah blah. So I made a a bunch of designs that all looked the same (wtf?) until I came up with this which I was incredibly proud of. I felt that it incorporated elements of Mako's in-game design but was still fun and cute and magical girl-tastic. Unfortunately it was shot down by Bee who felt that it didn't make sense and that it was a silly sweater thing. I was mildly irritated because I felt it did make sense if it was thought of in layers, but I had to get over it.

SO, back to last night/yesterday/this morning? Bee pitched the idea of making Mako's outfit a sweater dress. The design created, while cute, was decidedly too casual. So more brainstorming occured.

Spoiler: Makoto designs wheee~
Image
designed by Bee
I liked it but I felt it was lacking something.. I dunno. I was very confused last night/yesterday/this morning.

SO in my tired stupor I attempted to create more spiced up designs in order to explain what I meant. :|
Image
Not this necessarily but something with more life to it ? I don't know.

At some point Bee said that he couldn't see Makoto wearing a dress (or was it skirt). I said that I could since Makoto obviously appreciates cute things and is very feminine. I went on trying to explain that I felt that when Makoto is SUPER that she should stand out--that she should somehow be an opposite (but not a negative opposite like Venom Mako) to her civilian self. I mean she is SUPERRRRR.

I tried to explain my point further by bringing up Shadow Lady. Main character chick is conservative and shy blahblahblah, but when she transforms she is more upbeat and fancy and revealing. Obviously I'm not saying Mako should become over-sexualized like Shadow Lady, but that she can at least wear something a little more "fun"(?).

Spoiler: One last design
Image
More sleepy designs. I was trying to think of something we could do with her hair... without loosing her identity.

So basically that's all I have to say, and this is also probably the longest post I've ever made for Smako :D

I think in terms of hair we don't have quite a lot to work with: her bangs are significantly shorter, so we can't really tie those back, and she already has the headscarf on there. However, I think we already have what we need for that department, if you look back at those recent sketches. Typically, mundane characters may have more realistic, "flatter" hair that doesn't get all over the place. "Super" hair, on the other hand, has to be dramatic and billowy; it may simply be a matter of making Makoto's hair act differently when she is Super Makoto.

And while I now agree with a more playful bent for Makoto's future designs, I still want to stay away from referencing the denim overalls, outside of an apron... the buckles just don't seem right.

Urrrgh, cut. But that was a very good post, Kiki.

I've got to say, I think I'm noticing a distinct difference in your designs and Bee's... and much as I hate to say it, a lot of it comes down to the fact that you're female and Bee is male. Yes, I said it. But the difference is definitely there and I dare one of you to claim otherwise.

Perfect example? Remember designing Lana? Bee's first instinct was to turn her military vest into a ski jacket sort of thing and give her a respirator, sort of like a modified, small version of Mr. Freeze's suit. And yours, Kiki, was to turn her military vest into a mage-like coat.

Bee, your designs are frequently more masculine: your instincts are more towards the practical and/or sexual, technological enhancements and form-fitting clothing (I'm sure the fact that you've got a thing for jumpsuits plays a part in that, too). This is a style that works well for characters like Triple D, Adrian, Lisa, Lady Sakai...

On the other hand, Kiki, yours are distinctly feminine - lace and curls and cute embellishments, it seems, are just second nature to you. I think while Bee naturally tends towards form-fitting clothing, especially for women, you have a lot of fun thinking about the construction of the clothes themselves, playing with the silhouette more and the different sorts of details one can add. It's a style that works well for Trucy, Pearl, Lydia... and, I would argue, Makoto herself.

Now, both of them are great styles, and I'm not suggesting either of you is completely limited to them. And most characters aren't really at one extreme or the other - it's why arguments can break out over, say, Sadistress, since her outfit is mostly a "fetish" style and that's something I think doesn't lie wholly in either category. But with this said...

I think it's already obvious I'm siding more with Kiki's designs on this one. Makoto is a magical girl, so I really have no problem seeing her in a dress and would actually prefer it. It gives her a much more feminine look than her overalls do, and it makes her look more distinctly "transformed" from her regular conservative look. Makoto is an artist, yes, but as a magical girl she has an obligation to feel at least a little like a pretty, pretty princess. With a bowtie still, though, because the bowtie is cute and a great alternative to the giant chest bow seen on heroines like Sailor Moon.

Though I really kind of like her overalls becoming an apron rather than a jumper dress. Partially because the apron gives her a very artist-like look, and partially because aprons and dresses look adorable together, can we please capitalize on this pretty please.

Quick double post, sosueme: I've mostly been giving stats to inspire the artists, but if there's any people reading this who are more literary inclined and looking for something to do, these pages could use a witty quote for the character.

And then, of course, there's stubs to worry about, but I'm gonna be focusing on those for a bit myself.

EDIT: Rather than triple post...

PINK WIKI!

It's not staying like this, the pink background is just a placeholder for now. Ideally, since we can make different stylesheets and people can choose their own, I'd like to make a background image default that has pastel colors fading into white or light grey, and other options for people who'd prefer monotone grey or, in case people want to make their wiki pink, monotone in a pastel color.

...

Unless you guys want to keep the default pink. |D

We also need to get a new logo, I think. The old one looks okay on a light background, but it looks iffy here on the thread, and we'll need something for the upper left corner.

EDIT: Toned down the pink a bit. Also made it so infobox templates can have their colors customized, and am adding it to some characters' infoboxes now. I'm picking based off general look or powers, so please feel free to make changes if you think another color would be better suited for a character.

EDIT: Temporary logo added. If anyone wants to take a shot at making one (or at least improving on mine), please do! Make sure it's 155x155 and upload it over the current image, however. That makes it easier.

I'm so glad you were able to pretty up the Wikipedia with color and images, Pie.

Anyway, I was looking over pages of characters who still needs quotes and a few questions popped into my mind. Leon, Regina's lion companion from her TV superhero days was taken away from her after contract was terminated. We know what happens to Regina afterwards, but what about Leon? Do we know whatever happen to him besides being kidnapped by the TV studio? Does he ever get to see Regina again? Or is he locked away in the control of the TV studio company to die of loneliness?

As for a quote for him, I was think along the lions errr lines of "Regina... Where are you?" with sadness add to to that. I'm sure that Leon misses Regina when he's taken away from her and possibly doesn't know that he's been replaced.

Edit: My idea for Manfred's Quote: "Perfection." Do I really need to expand upon this? For Troia: It's should something along the line of how only the meek can conquer in love. You know, she's tamed by a submissive (meek) man and falls in love with him.

We're actually not sure what the fate of Léon is. The best happy ending I can muster is that Makoto somehow finds the little guy and Dream Warrior gets to ride him like a horse. But we haven't really decided.

I like that idea actually but let's add on it, even if this is rejected later on. Perhaps during a battle, Makoto gets seriously injured and Dream Warrior jumps (floats) in of her to block the next attack. The attacks hits which cuts Dream Warrior and little of "her" stuff falls out and onto Leon. Thus, transforming him into a powerful and brave lion to fight along with aside her to protect a near-death Makoto.

(And, yes, this is kinda of a reference to She-Ra/He-man.)

Oh god, Makoto with a Battlecat. And then she and Regina have a giant cat fight?

Speaking of Regent, Bee and I were discussing Regent's character. While I like the idea of him as misguiding Regina and generally being a bad kitty, keeping him distinctly different from Leon, Bee had the thought of making him actually a voice of reason, placing Regina's fall entirely on herself.

I think we're both okay with a middle ground with the idea of Regent being rather self-focused and indifferent to the moral struggles of the world - while Leon tried to teach Regina to be a real hero and have a strong moral compass, Regent only volunteered advice when Regina wasn't sure what to do, and then only gave what seemed to be the most immediately beneficial thing to getting him dinner.

What do the rest of you guys think? Any suggestions for Regent?

Also, I think I've successfully removed all gray from the style, meaning my major style work is complete. I'm also going to keep track of template editing and other visual work I'll be doing on my userpage in the "WikiFairy updates" section, so I don't have to report small updates here and we can keep the conversation on the characters and plot. Sound fair? Feel free to leave me a message on my talk page sometimes, guys!

It's okay! It came back!

So there's an idea started a while ago with me noting that Pearl and Daryan's backstories have some similarities... losing family, growing up under the wing of a martial artist, stuff like that. And Pearl's guesses about "special someones" are usually wrong...

Maybe the Pink Princess should get the wrong idea about who her knight in shining armor is?

With appropriate amount of jealousy and fury from Cody, of course. And then if we do decide to put Daryan on the 12-step program to becoming an antihero by sometime around the Future Arc, letting Pearl down gently would be the first step.

Just an idea at the moment, though.

lolwhut. Pearl is a cougar now? |D Well she always did suggest that Maya should go with Phoenix, even with the whole 7 year difference.

I think we should make it that Pearl is a fan of the Gavineers, especially Daryan, meets him and ya. If Hairaiser is an evil doer I don't think Pink Princess will exactly go nuts (as in love nuts) over him.

No, no, you've got it a little backwards. A cougar is an older woman who looks to date younger men.

But... yes, that makes a lot of sense, actually. And it might be, in fact, the reason why he would have to let the girl down gently (besides her being kind of young for him, and the fact that Cody Hackins is going to try and gnaw his ankles off if he doesn't).

There was a little chat about what to do about Kristoph's connections with Makoto, and it seemed sensible to, like the original games, tie her artistic abilities into it. Here's a summary:
Quote:
(3) MSOB > Kristoph was the military defense counsel for Diego Armando following the Borginia Incident
(3) MSOB > In order to prove Diego's innocence, he... (fill in the blank?)
(1) Pie > Had Makoto forge evidence. Possibly a cocoon.
(3) MSOB > But because of Inspiration's limitations (it can't make living objects) the cocoon didn't act like a real cocoon at all when examined/tested.
(1) Pie > Exactly. (Good reasoning at that.)
(1) Pie > Diego was exiled. Kristoph was disbarred.
(1) Pie > Insert about seven years of wounded pride before Kristoph... somehow meets Makoto again and the plot is set off with a bang.
(3) MSOB > So we have two blanks to fill from here, then. Why did Kristoph know about Makoto's superpowers, and how did they meet again?

A few more ideas that spawned from that late night chat...

Kristoph, after getting disbarred, works for Ariadne Cosmetics. G-Girl is a subsidiary of the Ariadne brand... or they might both be subsidiaries of a company, not sure yet.

But this grand company of fashion, style, and sex appeal is owned by none other than Troia Gavin. Summoned into the mortal realm years ago, she used her natural abilities to go far in the corporate world. Expect a lot of those cosmetics to be laced with pheromones and the like.

And of course, if momma Gavin owns that much, her two sons must have been born into the world with silver spoons in their mouths... which, personally, I find makes the friendship between Konrad and Daryan that much sweeter, since Daryan's basically just a street rat when he meets Konrad.

Please tell me their friendship's gonna be repaired eventually. :sadshoe:

Some new decisions:

- Miles Edgeworth has officially been released from his Holy Trinity backstory, because three experiments in the past is enough.
- Miles now inherits the werewolf condition from his father, Gregory Edgeworth... whose death has been bumped up seven years to match with other parts of the timeline. Miles is now only a one-year-old pup when his father dies.
- Manfred von Karma initially makes Gregory into a servant with a killswitch: Gregory is infected by venom, and then shot with a silver bullet. The Venom protects him from the silver bullet, so if the Venom is ever lifted, he dies.
- Misty Fey knows how to lift the Venom, through her colormagic stuff. She uses this on the 'sick' Gregory Edgeworth, and he dies instantly. She is blamed for his death, damaging her name badly, and is forced into hiding.
- Celeste Inpax is 26 when this happens, and she saw enough to figure out what really happened to Gregory. She starts a rebellion against Manfred von Karma and adopts Adrian a year later - even if Celeste is killed for her action, it is her hope that at least she can lead the child on the right path, instead of leaving her to be doomed to be one of Manfred's pod people.

It was not fun making these details, since a lot of it was finding out how to make the timeline work with the existing ageups.

Some things we're still considering:

- As a specific explanation for why the Venom made Gregory safe from the bullet, Venom might have the property to make one immune to poisonous substances. Would explain why it's called Venom.
- Celeste leaves Juan a teddy bear, telling him to give it to Adrian if she should die. Then he kills her. He keeps it for years, haunted by the guilt, and eventually caves in to regret and gives it to Adrian. The bear contains a camera with a message from Celeste, explaining Manfred von Karma's crimes and other things Adrian was made to forget.
- How was Venom fashioned into Black Nail Polish? If Troia Gavin owns the Ariadne brand, it'd be as simple as getting her infected with a heavy dose of Venom. The problem with this is that Venom is at heart a tool of domination, and Troia's one existing character trait is that she cannot stand being under anyone's control. If Makoto were thus to free her from this Venom state, Troia might actually offer Makoto support in taking Manfred down, possibly in the form of some new upgrade like the Celestial Brush. "But... Mrs. Gavin, I can't take this. Your son is my archenemy." "Yes, dear, and now your grandfather is mine. Consider it on the house."

By the way, we need Misty's super name.

That last bit with Troia and the Black Nail Polish, I wonder if it might tie into how Makoto learns to control it. The Black Nail Polish has always existed as an "upgrade" for Makoto, and old concepts have her converting into pigment black.

And on that subject, I put Venom Makoto in a sweaterdress. :B It's still provocative, but not as outrageous as the corset dress of old, plus it's made of a softer material. Straps optional, though Makoto doesn't exactly have *cough* the goods to hold the assembly up, unless that is a really tight piece of clothing.

Back to the issue of color, I was pondering the visible light spectrum and how it compares to traditional painting color theory. Right now, we have two rainbow-themed heroes: Makoto and Misty. It was Misty's spectral powers that cured Gregory of Manfred's Venom, and it is Makoto's artistic abilities that have Manfred worried in present times. Supposedly, what makes them differ is that Misty is light-based, while Makoto is pigment-based. Does Makoto upgrade to using one or both spectrums? How should the Black Nail Polish and Celestial Brush serve to augment this range?

Hm, actually, there's an interesting dichotomy here. The Celestial Brush comes from a light-based hero, whereas the Black Nail Polish is a physical color crafted by a demonic entity.

Okay, I agree with Edgeworth is being pulled out of Holy Trinity. He did seem to be a misfit among the experiments (as odd as that sounds). If we kill off, Gregory when Miles is 1, who is gonna raise him? He can't just raise himself. The only idea I have is that Misty adopts him as a way to atone for her crime for "killing" his father. But I don't know if this gonna work with her going into hiding and everything. Unless we have a Troia Edgeworth...[/quote]

But wouldn't that just make Vemon an anti-vemon? But then the anti-vemon is a vemon itself...*goes into a infinite loophole*
The immunity thing seems out of place to me. Perhaps the Vemon encased the sliver bullet and stop it right before hitting some vital organ (heart/brain?) as a way to let the vemon to keep on living inside of him. Sounds kinda parasitic (Sorry Pie) but knowing Manfred, it's something he'll make the Vemon do that.

By the way, we need Misty's super name.

I would suggest Amaterasu but I'm sure that wouldn't fly with having our own Celestial Brush. Prehaps something like that might work...

Don't you need light to make a pigment have it's color? And that the light that is not absorbed get it's color that way? So, wouldn't that just make them about the same or is there something I'm missing?

Something to remember about venom: the difference between venom and poison is that a venomous creature is immune to its own poison.

...

I dunno, it made sense to me. :|
