It sounds like you will be insanely busy. Coming from a place of insane, barely a second to breathe, busyness, enjoy your free time while you can.

I'll be trying to find a second part time job to get me through the summer. Let's hope one of the school based tutoring programs are not fully staffed yet.

I'll tell you what - I'm buying a button maker relatively soon (and by soon, I mean once I get the $250 from selling my stuff on LiveJournal, which translates to "a long time") and will make you like 2-3 ToM buttons. You can wear them with pride. >:3

Ooh, sounds awesome. But I'll have to wait 'till I'm on my own to buy the buttons if they're honest-to-God wearables to be purchased online - I'm not even old enough to drive yet, and I can't buy online either. My parents don't have an affiinity for LiveJournal, either (long story, really - it wasn't my fault, but someone else's.) Not my rules, but they still have to be followed. Sorry. :sadshoe:

HOWEVER. If they are printable templates, maybe I can buy a button kit, print out your designs, and STILL wear your stuff with pride! (My friend has little interchangeable buttons like that, she switches them out all the time.)

If you put the whole buttons up on the site though, you may get some inquires from other pinball fans as well, so it's a smart move, even if I can't get them.

Sure to the PSP wallpapers, but ech.. yeah, I only have about two hours of free time during weekdays so you'll have to wait a bit (about a week?), unfortunately.

Hey, that's cool. :phoenix: I know you have a life outside of CR, and the internship is much more important. I'll wait however long it takes - you just put your priorities first, and I'll be waiting. (I'll be away next weekend, and I have time to kill anyway.) :)

Blah, I hate dead week...

Quote:
Jenna: Yeah.. in college, it seems like almost every student I met loved the whole "drunk and stupid" thing. I don't mind social drinking at all, but when people are stumbling everywhere it gets a little out of hand sometimes.

Your campus is big, eh? My campus is huge too, but our bus system is decent. It takes awhile for the next bus sometimes, but in general it's quite reliable. What's bad about yours?

Yeah, binge drinking does not make sense to me, but as I can't even do social drinking (alcohol of any kind makes me seriously ill) I just try to avoid it as much as I can.

It's a fairly big campus, but all the english dept. stuff is pretty close to my place so it's not bad really. As for the bus system though....well, not only is it chronically about a half hour late either way you're going, to make up for time drivers will skip most of their stops. The bus I take to get to where I shop will actually not stop at the shopping center (which is basically why they put the line in in the first place) and I've actually ridden it the entire way where it made a grand total of 2 of it's 10 stops. I just have to anticipate that the bus will not stop where I need it to and request the stop. It still makes it so that it takes me 5 hours (I've kept track) to get my shopping done and 4 1/2 of that time is spent waiting/riding the bus.

GP: No problem. :)

Lunaria: I'm trying to enjoy my free time; it's not so bad yet, luckily. Since I have an hour to kill each way to/from work, I figure I'm going to catch up on some reading on the train.
Good luck on the job hunt! *thumbs up*

Asaki: I was offering you the buttons for free. XD
I only use LiveJournal because it's a very convenient way to show off my listings; otherwise, I wouldn't be a huge fan either. I know it can be sketchy if you don't know the seller or if there's no feedback to be provided.

I don't intend to do much with the buttons design-wise, I mean, I'd probably just crop the ToM art and just use that, so button templates would be simple.

*nod* It would be cool to make fanstuffs for the things you never see around that often.

Jenna: That's absolutely ridiculous (bus skipping stops)! I don't think our bus drivers blatantly skip stops like that, but there can be a few delays.. they're minor compared to yours, though. @__@''

Sorry haven't responded. Sooo busy :sadshoe:

Spoiler: Yikes, it got LONG!
Yeah, I'm still a little behind on my 3D class, but I'm actually catching up. We were learning the Torque Game Engine programming (which is very similar to C++) that day, and since I know null about programming, I had a lot of catching up to do. The good news is that I was able to successfully finish one of the hw assignments! (the professor is lenient on due dates). I'm still stuck on this other one, though, so I'm e-mailing the professor because I realized that I'm confused about his directions, not necessarily how to do it.

Anyway, thanks for the website stuff. Haven't got a chance to look through it, but thanks. I found out that a friend/more of an acquaintance of mine is very knowledgeable about web design and he's glad to help me. I have Dreamweaver CS3 and he says that's a good program. Anyhow, he says that if I really want to actually get gritty and code my website, he's offering his help with the coding, which is a HUGE plus.

You're probably wondering why on earth I asked about websites :P Well, I guess I'll let y'all be the first to hear about my new project.
So, I've had this... idea in my head for a kind of Final Fantasy style story ever since I was pretty young and my bro played FFX. I'm not about to get into the history as to how this idea came about, but after like six or so years, I found out a friend of mine liked doing manga-esque drawings. She's still learning, of course, but her drawings are pretty cute and have character. So I enlisted her help in just simply drawing these characters of this random story in my head. Next thing I know, I'm asking if she'd like to help create a manga with me XD

So, she's going to be drawing and I'm writing the story/dialogue (though I think I'm going to help with drawing objects and scenery; she said that wasn't her strong suit, so I think I could maybe help out there). And I'm hoping to post it on a website so others can comment. I don't know when it'll be up and running (my friend takes her time drawing; I'm almost always happy with the results, but they take a long time), but I'll be sure to let you guys know! :edgy: The story is rather cliche, but I've added my own special touches to make it a little different (I hope). I mean, the story, characters, and background of the history/story itself is something I personally haven't seen done, but when you break it all down, it kinda is your everyday FF kind of story. But anyhow.

I'm unsure if it will really take off or if it'll every get finished. I actually made sure the story wasn't TOO long just in case that became an issue. I really really want to do it and I hope we can accomplish it, but it's hard when you're depending on each other for something like this. The other problem is that there are just sooooo many characters and some of them are different races (including one I created myself)!
I love when she sends me her new drawings that I dictate to her. I dunno... they just give me so much inspiration :edgy:

I FINALLY bought Trace Memory (first game) and played it. Super short and puzzles incredibly easy for me, but I loved every minute of it. I want to rent the new Wii game when it comes out.
Oh, I've also been kinda reading an old manga called Double Arts. Anyone ever heard of it? I was very disappointed to find out that it got cancelled, because the story has pretty much every kind of story aspects that I have always wanted to see in a manga. It looks like it's supposed to be an awkward romance, but it actually has an aspect of fantasy history, a little mystery, and colorful characters. I haven't been able to finish it yet, but I want to take my time cuz I know that there aren't going to be any more additions :sadshoe: So sad!

Oops! I'm so used to paying for stuff that money sneaks in some way or another.

Since I don't have free reign regarding online purchases, especially freebies, I'm afraid I'll have to decline. But even with the templates, I'll always know I have a piece of the Vickinator with me! :D

I will check out your site when it opens - the merch sounds neat.

On a lighter note, I'm getting The Sims 3 tomorrow! Maybe I can make some AA sims to share. :phoenix:

Guess what - Rhythm Heaven comes out tomorrow and it's for AUS$35 (USD$28) at Target! It doesn't really sound cheap, but it is. :godot:
Hopefully I can get it before the sale ends; it's about $50 after it.

Caelestis: That's really awesome to hear - about your manga/story idea. :) Can't wait to see it! What's your created race all about?
Also, glad to know that you're catching up with the 3D class. As always, I wish you luck with that.

I haven't played Trace Memory, but thanks for the suggestion. I'll look into it!
Nope, never heard of that manga. Yes, it's always depressing to know there's actually an ENDING. >__>;

Baron: Seems like a good price for Rhythm Heaven to me, especially with all the positive talk about it here.
Nope, never played the other games. It's basically just beating your previous score in a mini-game-like format, so it's not worth $20 for me.

Thank you! Yes, I hope that we'll get it up and running soon. :edgy:

Spoiler: Sorry, it's quite long
Well, the race idea isn't totally unique. But basically, they're human-like for the most part, except each citizen has a unique psychic power (I'm working it out, don't worry XP). I named them Sycapians (I'm so original; I combined the words 'Psychic' and 'Sapian' lol). Also, they only live till about 30-40 years old (human years). As a result of their short life spans, their society forces the expectation of "doing something" with your life as early as possible. They are very into inventing new things and a little bit of expanding. They are expected to work for most of their lives from an early age, and the idea of art and free time seems silly to them.
As a result of this, most Sycapians are highly intelligent and very good at figuring out puzzles and inventions. They're the more futuristic race; they use similar technology like we do, but not quite as advanced (the humans in my story are pretty much still stuck in the Industrial Age, as we'd call it).
They also are stereotypical to being very cocky and pretentious, lol (they also don't like humans that much, but that's because in history, they were forced to rely on humans for energy since humans developed into their Industrial Age before the Sycapians began their crazy inventions; so it was like how OPEC is to the U.S. for oil; obviously they weren't happy about this. In fact, I'm toying with the idea that Sycapians lived normal human-yeared life spans, but as a result of wanting to separate reliance on human energy sources, they forced their people to work for long time and hard hours)

Also, as a result of their psychic powers, Sycapian children are tested early to see which power they have. Whichever is the strongest usually determines what they'll go into; also, different specifics of that power determine specific jobs (for example, I forgot the name, but the power to affect/lift objects with one's mind. One could be very good at lifting heavy objects, which then he/she might go into a job of heavy labor. One who could do tiny delicate work with his/her mind would go into a trade that needs that, etc.).
Mind-reading (usually surface mind reading only) is actually very unusual and they are closely watched. These people are the ones who are normally taken and used by the government for Secret Service kind of stuff. Also, everyone must learn to use... I thought it was called telekinesis but I don't think that's right... anyway, everyone must learn to be able to project their thoughts to another person. The most basic are emotions or one word. People who are more adept at this can even go as far as phrases and detailed pictures.

Anyway, I still have a few kinks to work out, but I'm trying to make them interesting, but not too... ya know, "super-awesome-perfect-OMG race". They originally lived longer than humans, but that didn't make much sense to me.

I'm also using a merman kind of race and faeries, with my own little twists on them; along with humans of course.

Anyhow, there's other stuff that goes along with it. In the story, every race and person has something called an "Elemental Trait" which really just determines personality, strengths, and weaknesses (plenty of stereotypes with that, as well). There's a history that goes with that idea, too.

Yeah, our buses suck. I wouldn't wish them on anyone else.

Luckily I'm in student housing (I got lucky and got into the one of the open spots in the new Grad housing here since they didn't manage to fill it) so I'm just a block away from campus. It's pretty easy for me to walk or bike to class which is nice, given the weather here.

Glad you know where I'm coming from. :phoenix:

Yeah, I always found MySpace as a breeding ground for very detrimental things. So I don't have one - and, even without my parents' rules, I wouldn't have one anyway, to be honest. It's like a Pet Rock. With teeth.

I got The Sims 3 yesterday, as I said I would. I wasn't really able to play with it much, because I didn't get home until late thanks to karate. I did fiddle around with the Create-A-Sim function though, and it's VERY open-ended - you can make pretty much anyone or anything. You don't have to download wacky hair colors if you want them; there's a color wheel in-game. Same with eyes. Or dresses. I made a dress for my character that had a brick pattern on it. Brick dress? Only possible in TS3, my friend.

Also, top hats are now included in the lineup for female hair, so do you know what that means? FUTURE TRUCY IS GO. And, like anything else in the game, the colors are fully customizable.

I have Trace Memory, it's very good but VERY short (I beat it twice, 4 hours each time.) It's a beautiful and strange game though, very pretty and creepy atmosphere. Lots of people say it's a rental title for its length, but personally, I find it so mystifying that it drew me in long enough for me to keep playing.

---

TheBaronAndEma: 28 bucks USD for Rhythm Heaven? Boy, did you luck out. I paid $35 USD for it, and that's the regular price. Good thing it's on sale - the original price seems steep. I assume you Australians have pretty awesome sales. :)

Thanks for the well wishes. All the teachers that I talk to regularly want me to work there and said they will miss me. The librarian wished me luck today, and commented that I must have been an asset to the English Dept. while I was there. Even the custodian on our hall wished me luck at getting a job at the school. She thank me as well for making the classroom easier for her to clean and move the furniture for the end of school carpet cleaning. I didn't mind working hard for her because she helped me out a lot too.

I wouldn't be able to enjoy an hour commute in my town. We have a terrible mass transit system, so everyone relies on their cars for the most part. I might get to enjoy some music (when the radio actually plays it instead of talking or commercials), but for the most part its dealing with traffic and bad drivers.

I found glee club easier than built to scale, actually. You just need to concentrate on what the other... things... are doing.

Oh, and learn when to cut off on the ones where all three end up singing. It's a big help.

Hailey: It's no problem; just reminding the general public. :]

Caelestis: I love the idea of superpowers in general because it allows for such creativity and imagination when creating these characters. :D
I really like your ideas!! You really weren't joking when you said it was all thought-out before. o__o''
(just fyi): Telekinesis is the power of moving things with your mind (easy way to remember: kinetic energy is the energy of motion, so "-kinesis" refers to movement), so I think you were referring to telepathy.
The merman idea sounds interesting as well... elemental traits reminds me of video games so I wholeheartedly approve. As always, keep me updated! :)

Baron: Nope, no Trace Memory.
Glee Club gave me trouble too, but I just kept trying (yeah, cliche) and eventually got it. You begin to learn the correct timing after a few tries.

Jenna: Oh, that's awesome. Yeah, when I was in school I lived on campus. I could literally just walk out of bed and go to class 5 minutes away sometimes. :B

Asaki: MySpace as a pet rock with teeth is one of the most interesting metaphors I've heard for it o__o'' Kudos for amusing me with that.
I LOVE CHARACTER CUSTOMIZATION. LOVE IT. Sounds like something I'd enjoy, then.

Ulala: You're very welcome!

Lunaria: Sounds like you have a lot of references and sources for great letters of recommendation! :]
Ah, yes, I absolutely fear/loathe/etc. driving in/around New York City, so I take mass transit when I can. I'm practically taking it almost everyday this summer >__>; I will be taking it for more than three hours a day when I have class in the fall.

Oh, and learn when to cut off on the ones where all three end up singing. It's a big help.

Thanks! I've past it now, although I'm doing it now for perfect. Hopefully I don't screw up, I've already missed about 4 perfect chances already. Hopefully I can get them back soon. :sadshoe:

Also, I got 5 medals in my first day of play. Is that good? :phoenix:

VICKI, I LOVE THE WALLPAPERS. They're so...beautiful... ;__;

in all seriousness, they are awesome! I love the little apple you added in the Franziska/Katy Perry wp.
And the way you used the images in the first one. And everything else. It is all amazing.

The line in the first wallpaper (the Gramarye one) is from the poem "What The Magician's Assistant Says About Her Master" by Kristine Ong Muslim. Read the whole poem here.

Thank you soooo much. <3 Your talent shines...yet again.

A little taste of The Sims 3:

Spoiler:
"Look man, nobody likes yellow. Just leave it alone. How many times do I have to tell you that? God."

Notice how Zak looks all stern as usual. Not pictured: Valant's reaction.

Haha, I'm glad you liked my myspace metaphor.

Hahex: Of course it's ok :) All wallpapers are free for personal use.

Asaki: I'm glad :) Yes, the apple was added for a little "pizazz."

I still need the Sims 3, espially since there's a good price for it right now.

I've been looking through your art. I just want to say that it's so beautiful, I fell in love with the style of it :godot:

If your still doing requests - may I please request a signature and avatar please? If it doesn't seem 'annyoing' I'll fill out a avatar and a signature thingy (so that you don't get mixed up :pearly:).

Avatar form:

Text: Andrew
Image(s): http://www.court-records.net/arts/artbo ... am_alt.png
Any preferred size?: Just as long as it doesn't break the rules :)
Color scheme: I'm not that bothered with colours. But I'd like one that'll make it look beautiful please :).
Extras: I'm not really daft on extras. But can you put love hearts on it pretty please? :)

Signature form:

Text: Andrew. Vera Lover
Image(s): http://www.court-records.net/arts/artbo ... am_alt.png
Any preferred size?: Same as avatar - as long as the size doesn't break the rules :)
Color scheme: same as the avatar - I want it to be one that looks beautiful please (aren't I kind not to bother about colours?).
Extras? Same as avatar - I'd like love hearts on it please :)

Edit: I had to edit my thingy because I forgot one little detail.

Could you do these for me, pretty please? :pearly:.

Edit #2: Sorry if changed again.... but I am now 100% happy with the edit I've made :).

Sig:
Size: 400 x 150

Hi Vicki! Your work is absolutely amazing. I was wondering if you could please make me a signature? I've never requested a sig from anyone before so if I mess up on something, please let me know:

Text: WittyVitale
Image(s): http://i655.photobucket.com/albums/uu27 ... 1244759684
Any preferred size?: Not really
Color scheme: Red and Gold
Extras: Swirls, or anything you think looks good.

Also, can the text be centered please? Take all the time you need, I'm in no rush whatsoever. Thank you so much! :maya:

I'm quite pleased with the avatar, so I figured I should request a signature as well.

Images: I'd like a few. One with an enlarged sprite of this picture in the background, and these three [normal size] in the foreground: 1 2 3 Naturally, all of these screencapped at the eyes open frames and not actual animated .gifs[You probably figured that out, but I can be paranoid about the little details]
Background color: Light blue, the same shade as :hobohodo: 's cap
Text: I've played poker in that little room for seven years...and I've never.
Lost.
Once.
Font: Simple, yet spooky. Like, you know how in cartoons, the word "Boo" or something is kind of stretched out and tilted a little? That's more or less what I'm shooting for.

I do appreciate this, I've seen the quality of your work. Thanks in advance.

Just to ask, do you only do AA-based graphics? If not, I may have a request for you...

I'll be posting finished requests tomorrow. Everyone who has requested so far have had their requests accepted.

Balrog: Thanks for replying while I was absent; to confirm for anyone else, yes, I deal with graphics of any theme (non-AA including other video games, anime, real-life, and so on).

Witty: I looked at your profile - you're a psychology student, too? :)
Are you in graduate school/going to graduate school?

Yes, I am indeed a psych student :) I'm studying psychology/empathy in humans and dogs and hope to be a clinical psychologist someday. I'm entering my senior year of college this fall, which I'm very excited/nervous about; excited b/c I'm primarily going to be working on subjects that actually interest me, and nervous b/c it's going to be A LOT of work (many of my friends who were seniors this year went crazy with stress >.<). I do plan on going to graduate school, but I'm going to take a year off first. I want to dabble my feet in the "real world" before immediately going back into an academic setting, haha. Plus, the professors I'm close to recommended it. So yeah, that's my plan.

I looked a few pages back in this topic and realized that you've recently graduated! I send you my congratulations! :maya: Are you planning on grad school?
