Maybe he's generally presiding over case in Europe? He's only in AA3 for a case and and a bit.

Well it would make sense and... wait a minuet-

:objection:

*slams desk*

It says in GS3 that the reason they called in the Judges Brother was because they needed a judge who "didn't know Edgeworth was a prosecutor". HOW COULD HE HAVE KNOWN EDGEWORTH WASN'T WHEN HE SAW HIM PROSECUTING IN EUROPE!?

No hotlinking to the site's resources, guys, use a webhost like Imageshack or Photobucket.

I think it's entirely reasonable to make a new judge sprite for this... don't look at me, though.

From the sounds of things, you've got a neat idea, but very little direction. (Shush, lemme flaunt my game design class learning an' stuff for a bit! :franny: )

You need to consider your game engine. Sure, you want to do this in Flash, that's all well and good. But that's also going to require a great deal of scripting and outright programing if you want to make a playable game. You may actually have an easier time building a game like this (and without any programming knowledge!) with programs like Multimedia Fusion. Some questions to consider regarding your game idea as well:

  • -Will the game follow the PW series in terms of gameplay? Finding contradictions, finding evidence, etc? Or do you plan to add features that may not be in the series? (For instance, in the games, the prosecution is almost always the one that starts things off and calls witnesses. Would this be reflected in your game, giving the player options such as prepping witnesses before the trial, and making opening statements?)
  • -A game as storyline-intensive as this will need a lot of scriptwriting. You've got some great story ideas, but you need to storyboard these out. The sequence of events the player must follow to get through the game, as well as all the oddball things. Witness testimonies, what they say when pressed, how they react to what evidence. Who will be in what location and when? Lots of charting stuff here.
  • -Additionally, if the player is running the prosecution: have you considered instead of the prosecution cross-examining witnesses, of having the defense try and poke holes in the testimony like Phoenix does, and instead have the player as Edgeworth try and counter these objections and then poke holes in the defense's argument?
  • Secondary characters: Sure, you've got sprite sheets available already for :edgy: and :scientific: , but what about your witnesses and random people? How serious are you about this project? Are minor edits to existing spritesheets good enough, or do you want to go all the way and try and get heavily customized or entirely new character sprites done?

On a less serious note, a random thing I think would be a nice touch is having occasional bits in the storyline where the player catches snippets of news reports about :object: 's successes. Maybe even have the player act out Edgey's role in Case 2-3.

I hope you do go through with this idea, it sounds like a lot of fun, and after playing defense for so long, I wouldn't mind taking on the role of prosecutor for a change! :franny:

While names don't always have to have a pun, that seems the likely one.

Yeah, it just sounded like a pun. And I think I've got the proper version of the pun

Jail 'n' Pain

As 'n' is used in Fish 'n' chips, and is short for 'and', so ti comes out as

Jail and Pain

I think.

Enough of that. How far in development is this?

And do you have sprite sheets for charcters?

Random suggestion:

"Star Prosecutor" rather than "Ace." Just to differentiate.

This definitely sounds interesting, a take on the prosecution bench! I'll be sure to let everyone I know that likes the series check this out once it's done! :D
