Hey there, I'm Enigma from the Ghost Trick Musical Project and we want YOU!

What is the Ghost Trick musical?
You ever heard of PW:TMP? You know, Turnabout Musical? Yeah... It's like that, kind of.
Isn't that project dead?
That's none of your concern.

Anyway, put simply, we're a group of fans of Ghost Trick who (through the PW:TMP forums) decided that it needed a musical based off it. That's it in a nutshell.

Will this be animated?
Hahahaha....No. Animation is what has caused the most problems for these kind of projects in the past. Instead we are opting to make this a radio play with a set of stills to go with it. Simple and pleasing.

What can I do?
There are plenty of positions currently available. From Voice Actors to Artists to Musicians we probably have something that needs doing that you can do. Even if you're absolutely useless (hey, Larry!) you can still come join our forums and help show support for the musical.

You keep talking about this forum. Where the hell is it?
Right here.

So, if you have any questions just hop over to the board and ask. Thank you for your time and we hope to see you there in the future.

Enigmatic Hobo, out!

It can't be dead! It shall never be dead! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! :headbang:
...Sorry. I'm in love with that project. :edgy: :edgy: :edgy:
Anyway, I like your idea, although I've never played Ghost Trick. I've heard of it though, might play it sometime.
I hope the musical turns out great! Good luck! :minuki:
Please don't hate meeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Hey even if the PW musical is dead I certainly enjoyed listening to some of the completed tracks and samples put up. "Decree of the Prosecutor" especially was good.

Though cool you're doing a Ghost Trick one, I'll be on the listen for a 'Last Desperate Struggle' song because I loved that tune.

Right now I'm debating whether I want to be a part of this... Between my job, my fangame, and potentially grad school, I'm already going to have a lot on my plate. Yet I don't want to say no to it quite yet.

...

I'll contact you later if I decide to, I guess. Let me know if there's anything very small and not time consuming that I can help with.

Hello, folks! Just dropping in with an update on the project! :D

As of right now, the first draft of the script has been finished and is going through some revision. Our biggest focus now is to get some music done for the songs. Once that's taken care of, we'll be able to go ahead and hold auditions. So for any musicians looking for a project to give a try to, feel free to stop on over! We welcome any and all folks wanting to lend a hand.

If folks have any questions, feel free to ask! Or, if you'd prefer, stop on over to the site and check things out. We may have your question answered there. If not, you can ask anyone over there about various things! :)

More updates, and very important ones! We are currently gearing up for auditions for certain parts! Those are going to be starting very soon. In the meantime though, we're doing something else, which should interest anyone here into singing: beta recordings!

Basically, right now we have a few instrumentals completed for our songs. To help folks get a better idea of what the finished product will sound like, we're making beta recordings of the lyrics and music. These are going to be rougher than the finished versions, but will serve as guidelines for auditions and when the cast records for real.

There aren't auditions for beta recordings. Since this is more casual, you can just volunteer and send the recordings over when you're done. Also, if you help with these, understand that this is not the same as auditioning. You aren't guaranteed the part, if you want it, though you are still welcome to audition when the time comes. And if anyone just likes to sing but isn't interested or doesn't want to get an actual part in the project, this is a fun way to be involved!

Currently, we are in need of:

A singing voice for Dandy

A singing voice for Cabanela

A singing voice for the Chief

A speaking voice for Ray

A speaking voice for Nearsighted Jeego

More beta recordings will be done as more instrumentals are completed, so keep your eyes open! If you want to follow along with our progress, you can do so by watching this thread.

Shouldn't the voice for Ray just be...

Spoiler: Ending spoilers
...a disguised version of Missile's voice?

What kind of voice were you looking for with Jeego?

We'd like to do that if at all possible, however we're anticipating

Spoiler:
Missile to have a very high-pitched voice (maybe even have a female VA, if need be) while Ray sounds more masculine and grandfatherly. Still, ultimately, if a VA can pull off both, we'll use it.

Like I said though, the beta recordings aren't going to be the finished products. Since things aren't so official, I don't even think we necessarily need the same VAs from one recording to another. Just whoever can provide what.

As for Jeego, he has just a couple of lines, but is supposed to be comedically serious. Basically, a wrecking ball is moved over his head, and he remains completely oblivious to this as he asks his victim if it was just him, or if something just happened. Ideally his voice would also reflect his 1950s mob member tough-guy look.

Well, I haven't sang in a really long time so I don't know if I'd be the best choice for any of those parts (I did get lessons for it back in elementary and middle school... but that was over a decade ago.)

I think I could probably change my voice up for either of the two speaking parts. PM me some lines to try and I'll record a tryout.

If you're looking for a mobster type voice for Jeego or Tengo (not sure if you need a voice for him too or if that's already stocked or what??) I can provide. If you could PM some lines I could do that.

Also curious what you're looking for for Dandy.

Also, you should probably specify with the singing voices. Don't want sopranos auditioning for the tenor roles, etc.

Well, like I said, the beta recordings are very casual. ^_^ I recorded for Lynne, and my own last vocal experience was in my high school musicals. XD I'm sure you'll do a fantastic job. And in any case, the lines for Jeego are spoken and Ray's are half-spoken, half-sung.

As for Dandy, I kind of pictured him sounding a bit like a smooth-talker, perhaps with something of an obnoxious tone. (Erm, if that makes sense. ^^; ) For vocal ranges, none of the men were extremely high or low-pitched. I can provide links to where the instrumentals can be downloaded. Each song has a version with some sort of guide for how the vocals fit in (usually a reed instrument), and the pitch of that is a good indicator as to whereabouts the voice needs to be. For all of them, you'd want to download the reprise, not the accompaniment.

Cabanela's Baby

Cabanela's Baby (Reprise)

Cabanela's Baby and Reprise lyrics

That's What I Love About You

That's What I Love About You lyrics

I'll PM both of you the lines, along with links to those character's song as a whole so you can get the instrumentals to go along with them.

Hey, folks! To give you an idea of what we are looking for in the beta recordings, I'm linking you to our first one. (That's right, first beta recording done! Whoo! :D) Behold Panic Dance, a little conversation between Bobby and his co-worker.
