I'm preparing to create a series of fan games for AA, and I had an idea that i wanted to get the communities opinion on. Do you think it would be a good idea to use Ace attorney investigations style investigations for the standard formula?

Obviously it won't be a perfect recreation (for example I would not include the logic system), but with just the basics, would the system be worthwhile to use? Or would I be better off using the standard first person perspective?

If you'd like to go the extra mile, go ahead and make an AAI-style investigation. But it's gonna take a bit more coding and effort to do that.
If you want to keep things simple, stick to the first person.

I think the beauty of the fangame is that you don't have to do formula at all.

But by "AAI formula" do you mean having all the cases interconnected and part of a bigger mystery, or something else I'm not thinking of?

While I do plan to have an overarching story with the cases, what I specifically meant was having the 'top down' investigation scenes in place of the first person investigations from most of the games.

Aaaaah, I see now. I don't actually know of any fangames that have managed to do that. But if you can, I'd say not much changes from 1st person beyond what you see/how you find it. So if you have a way then cool.

Good luck
