Author's Notes: Umm... yeah. I don't write stories often (i last wrote one back in october last year) so I hope this comes out well. Oh, and Matt & Juan are 17 at the beginning of the story. X3Rain poured down on the teen boy as he hovered over the bridge's side. Tears ran down his face and fell into the water. He made a small gulp before he readied to jump in. He walked forward and fell off the edge.
However, another teen was nearby, watching him. He dove in after the boy. The river didn't have a a fast current, so that's where he was lucky. The boy was successfully retrieved from the river and was placed face-down on the ground nearby.
"Hey... you okay?" The boy on the ground started sobbing.
"..."
"You still alive...?" The teen flipped the other over and pulled him up to a sitting position. He had a very dazed look in his eyes and blood was covering the right side of his face. His emotion remained unchanged. "...um... I'm Juan... What's your name?" He tried his best to stay calm.
The boy lowered his head. "Matt..." he mumbled.
"Well, Matt... I can take you back to my apartment and we can get you cleaned up..." Matt didn't say anything. "...if you want too..." Juan added. Matt stayed silent, though.
It didn't look like Matt was going to cooperate. So Juan stood up and said, "My apartment is right down the street, if you want to find me." He waved and turned around. "Bye Ma-"
He turned his head around to see Matt, who was holding onto Juan's shoulder. He didn't say anything, but the silence hinted the he wanted to come. Juan nodded and took Matt's hand.
"Let's go." Juan smiled at him. Matt stared and blinked, then made a small smile.
Juan's Apartment"There we go, all cleaned up." Juan said, removing the now bloody rag from Matt's face. "Did you get those scars when you fell off the bridge? There are some sharp rocks at the bottom of the river." Matt nodded, looking down. "You hungry? I have some shrimp salad." He offered.
"...yes please...." Matt said in a quiet voice. Juan smiled and went into the kitchen to fetch the food.
Their relationship continued quite strongly after that. They did everything together. No one could seperate them. It seemed almost perfect. Until one day..."Juan..."
"Hm?"
The two were standing on the bridge they had met on. Juan was looking over the railing while Matt was standing behind him, looking down.
"I..." He paused for a moment. "I think we shouldn't be friends anymore."
"What?!" Juan turned around as soon as he heard that. "Wh-why...?"
"...I'm sorry..." Matt turned around and began to walk away. Juan followed him and grabbed his arm.
"What's wrong?"
"...It's nothing."
"No. It's definately something..." Juan pulled him closer and looked him in the eye. Matt jerked his head forward so their lips met. He pulled his head back after a few moments.
"That's why..." Matt forced his arm out of Juan's grip and ran off.
Juan didn't bother to chase after him. He just stood there on the bridge, tears falling down his face.
Two years later...Juan walked in through the front door apartment without shutting it. He slumped down on the couch, too tired to care about anything.
"So I heard you were getting married." Juan recognized the voice and immediately sat up.
"M-Matt!" Matt walked in and closed the door. He smiled warmly at Juan.
"Who's the lucky girl?" He asked. Juan stood up quickly.
"Well, her name is Celeste. Celeste Inpax." He replied. Matt stared at him for a moment then turned around.
"...I'm leaving now."
"W-wait! Why?" Juan asked. "You just got here!"
"It's for the better that I don't tell you..." Matt opened the door and walked out. Juan stood there, fighting back tears and biting his bottom lip. He couldn't hold it back anymore.
"God dammit Matt!" He shouted. Matt stopped walking, but didn't turn around. "You disappeared for two years, leaving me alone! I finally gotten over you and got a girlfriend, a fiancee! Then you come back out of the blue and leave when I tell you who! What is wrong with you?!"
He, breathing heavily, stared at his back. Matt turned back around, tears running down his face. Juan hadn't seen him so... sad... since the night they met.
"She was the reason we met. She was the reason I fell into the river. Celeste was my girlfriend who dumped me before we met." Matt explained. He turned back around and ran away.
Again.
Later that night..."Hello, Celeste? I'd like to call off the wedding..."
