Chapter 1How It GoesNew Year's Eve, 2018Aser put away his books. He'd done enough studying for now. The time? 11:45. Aser had drawn up a list of defense attornies to defeat by the time the year was out. There were only two on there.
Kristoph Gavin
Phoenix WrightSure, while it was a short list, these two attornies were some of the best in LA. Aser didn't know this, but in due time, he would face both in court before the next year was out - and he would win neither.
The Week Before the Present DayA woman screams, and runs down the corridor. A man pursues her, smashing a jar with a knife. The woman runs into the living room, and hides behind the couch. The man comes in when she's hidden, and draws a gun. He empties the clip, destroing the china in the room. He derips the lightbulb from it's socket while it's on. In his anger, he doesn't notice the heat, or the electric shock. He falls, but his gun fires several more shots, one of them, hitting the woman as she emerges from behind the couch. She dies. The man lives. This was State versus Darke. Another one, this time from Joe Darke's insane son. There is a huge amount of evidence against him, and still a defense attorney comes to take up the case. The prosecution? Aser Amun, of course.
Present Day, 10AM."Court is in session for the trial of State versus Darke." Alexander Smith. Short black hair, small trimmed goatee, brown eyes. Average height. He was a reletively lax judge, and one Aser hoped would work in his favour. "Are the - " He was cut across.
"Yes, Your Honour." Aser said calmly. "You should have more - " Serene had attempted to instruct him, before being cut across as well. "Shut up, damn you." Aser scowled.
"Yes, Your Honour." came the call from the defense attorney's bench. He was wearing a black two-piece suit, and had little hair, and was wearing mirrored glasses that hid his eyes. "Your opening statement, prosecutor?" asked Smith, looking down at the taller man. The high chair helped him with that.
"The defendant is guilty. The needed tools are here." He stopped. "Th-that's all?" asked Smith, after a minute's pause. "Yes." Aser stopped again. "As everyone present is familiar with the case, and the defense attorney has already gotten the testimoney and pressed the detective - " This time, Aser was the one cut. "I-is this true, Mr. Fin?" The judge asled.
The defense attorney nodded. "...I move that Mr. Fin be penaltied for an illegal interrigation of the detective." Aser said, smirking. "Granted. Smith pounded his gavel.
This will be all to easy. thought Aser.
