Just felt like writing something grimm.
--------------
Night covered the whole land, the forest was filled with darkness.
I was wandering lost in this darkness, “How did I get into this mess?”
The road was clear, yet I couldn’t go on.
It was like my will to get home was gone.
Everything around me was changing its shape,
The trees surrounded me, there was no escape.
The lake turned red, the moon lost its light.
Everything was wrong, nothing was right.
The rabbit killed the fox, the sea was higher than the mountain.
And all there was in the world became a sin.
Nothing was left but chaos when he came,
His mere sight told me that this was the end of my game.
Death came on the horse darker than the night,
The one who would destroy all the known light.
His scythe was bloody and hungering for souls,
Destroying people’s lives and their goals.
Behind his hood his eyes gleamed in sickly yellow,
His atmosphere were however clam and mellow.
He raised his rotten hand to point at me,
Despite seeing nothing, I could sense his glee.
I fell to my knees, “Please let me live.”
Death answered “What do you have to give?”
“I will give you my farm and my family, anything but my life.”
Death answered “That will suffice, now rise.”
“I will return for you though,
This only bought us time for us both.”
“When that day come Death I’ll accept it.
But for now, let my candle be re-lit.”
With a scary laugh and a chilling scream,
Death rode off and I woke up from that dream.
I woke up in the forest in the middle of the night,
But for now, everything was alright.
When I came back home Death had taken it all,
All that was left was a fire burning tall.
My wife, my children, everything had been taken.
And I felt as I had been forsaken.
The loss was like a burning spear through my chest,
And I thought “Did I do the best?”
I offered everything, but it seemed now that I had gained nothing.
I threw everything away, and now, I wanted the chorus of hell sing.
It finally broke, and I couldn’t take it anymore.
I took his offer, and went through the final door.
As the burning flames of hell was licking him up,
Von Karma finally woke up.
He looked around at the dark prison cell,
And smiled ironically as he remembered, today he would actually go to hell.
