ALWAYS save sprites in a PNG format otherwise they end up blurry and a little too "pixley" They are pretty good otherwise.

For recolors they're not that great.

First off, don't save in any other format than PNG, JPEG/JPG ruin pixellated art in every form.

Secondly, try using less vibrant colors that AREN'T on the MS Paint pallet, reference colors from other sprites to get more muted and realistic tones that still look great.

Like everyone else says, PNG quality is recommended.

Paint? Perhaps try downloading a different program, such as GIMP or Paint.net?
Another thing is that the colours don't seem "natural", such as red lines around young Phoenix.
Lisa Basil's outfit looks flat, adding shadows could help with that.
