OK, now I think i'm a fairly competent spriter, and my backgrounds are fairly good, but in the process of making my new one I just can't quite get this one right...

Image

It's going to be an Art Gallery. I want the ceiling and the floor to give the room something of a dark blue effect, but I can't quite get either one right.

I can sprite the paintings and sculptures myself, I just want someone to help with the ceiling and floor.

Thanks to any takers!

Okay, I got time right now, but, uh... What kind of ceiling, and floor?
Tiles, carpet?, lighting, shiny?, etc... what's the preference on those?

EDIT: What would you think of a dark, wooden floor? I tried it and it looks kinda nice, and it matches the color you wanted if I put that on the ceiling.

Hmm... preferably shiny, for both. Regarding the lighting, i'm not entirely sure... so, surprise me.

Well I'm basically just stumbling in the dark here, so I experimented with some stuff, and I've got a work in progress - just to see if you like it.

I can still easily change any seperate element you'd like changed, and I'll keep working on it depending on what you want with this.

Ah, well, with the ceiling i'd prefer if it were a similar colour to the walls. But darker, so the room has something of a blue hue to it.

I know, this is kinda specific... this is why I wasn't able to do it.

Anyway, the floor is fine. Not quite what I had envisioned, but then again I have no idea how to get what I envisioned. Either way it's pretty good.

EDIT: If it'll help,

Try this, minus the blue walls. That's what I was hoping for.

The floor as well.

The same colors as the walls? Then it's not really blue, y'know.
You mean like this?

Or, well, I tried adding a blue filter.

Also, I was thinking, does the floor maybe need to be a bit darker? Or lighter perhaps?

Not really... have you seen the above edit? That might help, if you haven't...

I know, i'm being nitpicky, but if it wasn't difficult then I wouldn't have asked for help.

You know, a tiled floor is hard to do what with the perspective being messed up. I initially went for that, but it didn't work out.

PS. If you do that minus the blue walls... It's not blue at all. Do you want me to color the walls?

No, the walls are now blue... I was kinda hoping for a blue hue. The blue filter you used before was fine. (I should have probably said at the time...)

The floor is, nice... although the colour pallette is still there. The ceiling might be fine, but it's hard to tell unless the walls are done...

How do you want to get a blue hue with grey walls, grey ceiling, and grey floor?

I also don't see what you mean with
Quote:
although the colour pallette is still there

Anyways, I can't work anymore today. Maybe tomorrow.

Look in the bottom left of the picture. Then you'll see it.

Anyway, the blue thing is less important than the rest of it. Ideally, i'd say just do the ceiling in the colour of the walls, perhaps slightly darker, and throw the blue filter used earlier over it.

I tried to make the tiles marble, to match the floor you wanted.

There we go! Yeah, that's what I wanted. Thanks!

I'll add the paintings/sculptures later.
